In the town of druxehill far from where the town market and buildings were located almost at the outsketch stood a dull, feeble and small house, and though it looked cold from the outside there was warmth inside as a mother and daughter laid inside wrapped in a warm blanket, the fireplace of the house was lit with firewood as it glowed around the dark house warming the duo inside, the mother laid behind her daughter while brushing her hair as she sang a lullaby to which the little one had fallen asleep in her arms. The rain outside hadn't stopped pouring as it fell even harder to the ground with series of thunder and lightning the house creeked continuously as the rain shooked the walls of the house.
Standing up from the wooden bed she walked up to were the fire was emanating from to add a little more wood to the fireplace hoping it could serve them for the night, turning around she walked over to were her daughter was on the bed sitting beside her she brushed the errant hair that had come to hover on her face with care to avoid waking her up.
"I'm sorry"she said in a hushed tone with eyes filled with tears as the emotions flowed through her eyes stemming from pain, regret,a deep anguish and sorrow as she looked at her beloved daughter.
"I'm sorry Emily"she repeated why shaking her head as she didn't dare look at her daughter the emotions overflowing as it threatened to burst out from her mouth, holding her mouth she quickly walked over to the other side of the bed lying down as her body wrecked from the continuous sobbing concealed by the sound of the rain. The rain fell even harder like it could feel the anguish and sorrow of the woman and it wailed with her.
The rain had finally stopped and all it left was the cold breeze and wet trees. The ray of the sun had finally emerged from the thick clouds and though not much it was enough to give light to the things around it in contrast to the heavy downpour and gloomy night that had passed. The birds chirped on the trees as they came out from their tree holes as they had his themselves to shield themselves from the rain.
Emily who just woke up stretched in bed while passing a loud yawn, standing up she saw her mother who just came back after going to fetch more logs of wood from the forest.
Mama!!
Her small enthusiastic voice resonated in the quiet surrounding as she enveloped her mother in a tight hug. Returning her daughters hug with a warm smile she bent down to level her height with that of her daughter's.
