In a world etched with magic and sharpened by blades over the ruins of fallen kingdoms, life existed unlike anything we've ever known. Creatures walked between light and shadow—humans, beasts, half-spirits, and races yet unnamed.
Everything was spiraling toward ruin... until he appeared.
Five thousand years ago, a mighty kingdom fell—one that ruled the world with a fist of fire and sky. A kingdom whose gods were not gods, but tyrants cloaked in sanctity. They tormented the demi-humans, granting themselves the very freedoms they denied others.
And then came "The One Who Must Not Be Named."
No one knows his name. Nor his face. Not even his kind. Was he human? A beast? Or something that belonged to no world at all?
All that is known... is that he slew the gods of that kingdom and erased it from existence with flames whose remnants still scorch the land.
Then—silence.
No one knows how he did it. No one knows why.
He wasn't slain. He wasn't honored. He simply vanished, as if he never existed… leaving behind an echo that tore through the pages of history.
Since that day, the world was divided:
The humans saw him as a curse, a walking catastrophe, and gave him names like "The Lightbreaker," "Enemy of the Divine," "The Lord of Collapse," and "World-Ender."
But the demi-humans—Elves, spirits, half-dragons, vampires, dwarves, and demonkin—saw him as a savior. A deliverer. A legend that would never return.
As the centuries passed, his tale became a forgotten myth, mentioned only in ancient tomes written in languages now barely understood.
Humans entrenched themselves in twelve great kingdoms.
Demi-humans scattered into forests, mountains, and shadows.
Civilizations rose, blades were forged, and magic flourished in all its forms…
But hatred did not die.
War began.
Humans vowed to eradicate all demi-humans, claiming themselves the rightful heirs of the world.
The others waited—for a miracle… or for the return of The One Who Must Not Be Named.
And in the midst of it all, among the fires of a reborn history, in the farthest reaches of a forgotten forest…
began the tale of a man named Motz.
