As I stared at Zara, the memory of our moment together flashed vividly in my mind. The way her body had tensed when I got close, the way her breath hitched for just a second before she pulled away—it had stirred something in me, something I couldn't quite explain. I wasn't sure if Zara was who I thought she was, the one who'd haunted my memories for so long, but I couldn't stop myself from trying to find out. There was a nagging feeling deep inside me, pulling me toward her, begging for answers.
She was standing by the window now, looking out at the fading evening light, her silhouette framed by the glow. I found myself staring at her again, almost instinctively. There was something about her—something in the way she moved, the way she spoke—that kept tugging at my mind, reminding me of someone I used to know. Could it really be her? Could she really be the girl from my past?
"Stop staring at me," Zara said suddenly, her voice breaking through my thoughts.
