I couldn't help but wonder how someone as wicked as Xavier had bothered to save me. He was ruthless, cold, and capable of things I couldn't even begin to imagine, and yet, I was still here, breathing, alive. Why? What was his game?
I stood by the window, staring out at the pack's territory, trying to make sense of everything that had happened. Xavier had been so quick to punish that guard earlier, showing no hesitation in ordering his death for a simple lie. It was terrifying to see how easily he wielded power over life and death, and it made me question what kind of man I was dealing with.
Suddenly, there was a knock on my door. I turned to find Xavier standing in the doorway, his expression unreadable as usual.
"Get prepared," he said, his voice clipped. "We're going somewhere this evening."
I raised an eyebrow, curious but also wary. "Where are we going?"
