Chapter 19 - 19. The neglected god

Zach dodged a few attacks dealing a series of attacks at the witchers rusted armor, Evey attack bouncing off the moment it hit the surface.

All while dodging the incoming attacks from the opposition.

The armored giant did not bother protecting itself and just frantically waved it's sword at his direction, tanking all his attacks.

If Zach wanted to win, he shouldn't rely on brute strength, the knight relied on arieal advantage to force Zach on the defensive the strength was immense behind every attack but Zach had to hold on.

The void echoed with clashes as the knight moved for a slash.

Zach seeing this immediately raised his sword to block.

Then the knight vanished.

And Zach's eyes widened.

'A feint!!!!'

The knight appeared behind him swinging it's blade.

Zachs body wasn't able to react in time and the blade dealt a huge gash on his back sending him flying back.

Zach managed to steady himself.

Blood dripping on the rippling floor beneath him.

The knight waisted no time charging into Zach.

The battle raged on, with the metal behemoth attacking Zach ruthlessly.

The armored knight was a monster on endurance and strength striking Zach repeatedly without getting tired.

Zach was the agile one, his awoken senses allowed him to rapidly doged theonsters attacks while still being injured.

But this won't last very long though.

Zach was bleeding, stamina was running out.

The knight threw another feint, catching Zach off guard under pressure.

Zach crossed his arms but it was too late.

The rusted blade passed through his wrist throwing the katana high in the air.

The pain struck Zach like a lighting bolt, his mind coursed with unbearable pain.

It burned.

His bloody stomp sprayed blood.

His legs suddenly turned to spaghetti.

His heartbeat sped up.

His pupils shrank.

Fear was creeping in.

His hand was gone.

He looked wided eyed at the monster In front of him.

The Witcher raised the blade once more above Zach.

'What am I doing...?'

'GET AWAY FROM HIM ZACH!!!!!!'

His intuition screamed at him to get out of the way.

But his body wouldn't move.

The blade came down.

Then Zach body defied logic.

It moved.

HOW..?.

Even he didn't know.

Was it the fear of death that prompted his movement?, or was it something else entirely?.

Zach's one arm was cut off,but his left arm was still intact.

Meaning.

He could still fight.

He was afraid to die?, but that didn't mean he hadn't thought about the possibilities of him dying.

His bloodline would end.

His future would be gone.

That alone fueled him.

He didnt want to be forgotten, he didn't want to perish.

Infact he wanted the opposite.

To be remembered, to be feared.

Zach dodged a few attacks, stagegicallly moving towards the blade.

Every movement felt like his internal organs were rupturing.

Like needles were poking at his side.

Zach side steped an incoming attack stepping by the side of his sword.

His detached hand still gripping tightly on his katana.

He picked up the blade with his left hand pointing it at the knight.

"I don't want to die"

He spoke.

"But if I go down"

He paused gritting his teeth.

"Then you go down with me..."

But that was easier said than done, Zach was using his weak hand, no skills, no systems to tell him his opponents weakness, this was a real fight.

His real trial.

The main game.

The Zach eyes meet the darkness throught the knights visor, and two red eyes flashed.

The two stared at each other for a while.

Zach hand hand stopped bleeding.

And his brain isolated the pain.

What mattered was their blades

They charged at each other, the knight attacking ruthlessly like usual, but Zach did something unusual.

He was attacking back.

It was hard, he wasn't used to fighting with his left hand, but some how he was doing it.

Even if his blade bounce of it's armor, he still stuck.

Even if the odds seemed impossible, he still persevered.

The knights feinted once more, but Zach knew this truck,

He immediately stuck behind him.

The stroke hit knight in the visor making it stagger backwards.

'So that was it' he squinted his eyes.

It was the armored that granted the knight protection, but the openings were vulnerable.

This means one thing.

It could be killed.

And it's feint skill?.

Zach was suspectimg it had some sort of cool down, anytime the Witcher feinted, it took quite a while for the Knight to do it again.

The knight charged, and Zach charged too.

Their swords was about to clash, but Zach changed the trajectory ot the swing in a single motion.

He had tried to mimick what Eli did with the monsters.

It wasn't exactly perfect.

But it was enough.

The Witchers blade slide on Zach blade grazing his cheek, and Zach slashed an upward arc at its ark.

The knight couldn't react in time, it was already too late.

The knight moved almost instantly, the blade only grazing the space under it's helmet.

Zach was aiming of it's neck.

It backed away, blood trickling down it's neck as it stared at Zach with an unreadable gaze.

Zach almost had him.

Zach had understood, there was a mobility gap between him and the Witcher.

All that heavy armor slowed the knight down, especially when shifting directions.

And now, Zach had a plan.

He looked at the monster in from him taking a deep breath.

'Once fear creeps in, you're already dead.'

"Why'd you stop attacking?", he openly taunted with a straight face.

"Are you scared.."

Zach just needed one mistake on the Witchers part, then he could win.

The knight got into a stance.

Zach grinned.

Zach didn't notice the energy shift before.. or ever.

The energy that come over a person when their about to activate a skill.

He could feel it.

And it a 90% chance that that skill was.

The knight dashed and disappeared when it came two meters of Zach.

"A FEINT"

Zach turned around immediately slashing with all the energy he had in him.

His internal organs shattered under the pressure, this mind screamed at him to stop.

But he couldn't.

He couldn't die.

Not now he had come do close.

The blade greeted the knight, a flicker of surprise reflected on in it's red glowing eyes.

The knight was going in for a stab, and Zach used this opportunity to place himself into the Knights space into the blade.

The rusted blade pierced Zachs shoulder.

But Zach's blade, with it's insane reach, managed to price the blade through the Witcher throat straight through.

The Witcher paused.

Surprised still in it's eyes.

It let go if it's rusted sword, still impaled in Zach right shoulder clutching it's throat.

Zach coughed out blood collapsing on his knees.

He gritted his teeth.

'i have to finish this...'

'Theres no time .'

He struggled to get the blade in his shoulder out but he had to.

He pulled out the blade from his shoulder, looking at the knight with a cold stare.

He stood up slowly.

His sword was still impaled in the Witchers that, so he grabbed the rusted blade.

The design was like every other medieval blades found in histories and movies.

He staggered toward the knight, dragging the heavy blade behind him.

The fact this s knight was wielding such a heavy blade and could still move like that proved it's danger level.

Zach raised the blade, slashing with all his strength at the knight neck.

"DIE YOU BASTARD!!!"

The knights head rolled on the floor, the floor covered in blood.

Reality cracked.

Zach's sight was greeted by the uneven edges of the canyon walls.

"I'm back at the canyon..?"

"Wait.."

Zach looked ahead and a stone swas in front of him, but it didn't burn brightly.

Instead, it pulsated with a black mist.

[Touch the stone seeker]

And the game will be completed.

Zach looked at the stone in front of him.

"Touch ... the stone..."

He staggered towards the stone, dropping the blade behind him.

The dead knights body laid behind him as he staggered.

"Don't touch that stone...."

"Zach looked to the left"

It was Eli.

"E...li...?"

Zach called out weakly.

Eli was in the distance walking towards him.

"Wait.."

Zach thought about it.

"Eli..?"

"The stone is dangerous" she said standing in front of him.

This was Eli.

No.

It wasn't.

The real Eli would care more about his condition than the black stone.

It was the deceiver.

The sun was beginning to rise.

Peaking though the mountains peak.

Of he didn't touch the stone he would be stuck here forever.

Zach kept walking.

Ignoring the Eli he kept walking towards the stone.

Eli moved out of the way for him to pass, it was the games rules.

The deceiver can only attack Zach with tricks.

It can interfer physically in any way.

He had to hurry the sun beam was slowly creeping towards him.

Every organ in Zach body begged him to collapse, but he strived .

His muscles begged for a break, but he pushed them even further.

Finally his hand touched the stone.
