Chapter 22 - Alliance of the Lower Gods

She felt her heart calming down, a soothing feeling washing over her.

She came back to the world as she felt the touch on her shoulder.

She turned her head, her hazy eyes fell on Victor, and became clear.

"ARE YOU OKAY?" Victor shouted again

Zara winced back from the loud voice.

"Why are you shouting?" Zara asked with her hands covering her ears.

Victor exhaled and muttered in a quiet sound, "You weren't responding. I have been trying for a while."

Zara turned and looked around. Everyone was looking at her strangely.

"Ahem, so as I was saying, this is the dorm room for the ones blessed by Gaia, and no one else can enter it." Berry continued and pointing toward the dorm door.

"Now, who will enter first?" Berry asked, looking at the crowd with hesitant expressions.

Lyla stepped forward, students parted way for her, and she put her hand on the door.

Creak!

The door opened.

As she looked back with a proud glint in her eyes and a smirk on her face.

She stepped inside proudly. And the door closed behind her by itself.

The Cadets rushed toward the door, completely ignoring their guide.

Berry stepped aside and waited, leaning on the wall.

As all the students moved inside, only Zara and Victor were left.

"Go on, enter. I don't have much time." Berry said, gesturing with his head toward the door.

Zara turned and looked at Victor.

"Go on, we are in the same academy. We can still meet." Victor reassured Zara.

Zara nodded reluctantly, and she stepped ahead.

She put her hand on the door, and a blue pulse passed through her body.

The door opened up, and she glanced toward Victor one last time, her eyes still hesitant.

Victor nodded, smiling warmly.

Zara exhaled and stepped inside. 'We are in the same Academy, we'll keep meeting.' Zara reminded herself in her mind.

Slam!

Door closed.

Berry glanced at Victor and then at the door. "Why aren't you going inside?" he asked rubbing his temple.

"My uniform is Black," Victor replied

"Ohh!" Berry said in shock.

After a few seconds, he came back to his senses and sighed, muttering, "A rare case, Human not blessed by the Holy Goddess."

He strode onward without looking back, and Victor quietly followed him.

After several turns, through long and dark corridors, He stopped before a large, worn-out Iron door.

The Corridor around the door was completely barren and dark, with humid air.

It seemed like an abandoned corridor.

Victor glanced at the Iron door.

Ding!

[Alliance of the Lower God's Door]

"Alliance of the lower Gods," Victor muttered, narrowing his eyes at the door.

There were engravings with several hazy figures; there was a short man, not a dwarf, holding the hammer bigger than himself.

And an Elf wielding the bow.

And others weren't clear, in one corner appeared to be a cat sitting.

And above them all, at the upper edge of the iron door, a full moon stood.

The New Moon core stirred inside Victor's body.

He can feel it, the blood lust increasing and even the unknown rage filling up his head.

Ding!

[Blood thirst 70%]

[Reminder: drink blood before you lose control]

His eyes glowed dimly; he looked toward Berry.

Berry felt the danger, and with his instincts blaring, he backed away.

"Go…inside!" Berry shouted in fear and trembling words, urging Victor to enter.

Victor exhaled, hiding his fangs under his lips.

He stepped near the door and placed a hand on the door; a crimson pulse passed through his hand into the door.

Creakkkkkk

The Door opened.

Victor walked inside.

Slam!

And the Door closed behind him.

The hall looked more like a lounge; the warmth emanating from the fireplace on the right was palpable. Surrounding it were several brown cushioned sofas.

And on the left, against the dark grey walls, were several bookshelves placed reaching up to the roof. In the middle of them were circular study tables with wooden chairs. On every table, a dimly lit glass lamp was placed.

In that small library, a few cadets were reading under the dimly lit glass lamp. But the right side was empty.

As Victor entered the hall, all the cadets sitting in the library raised their heads and stared at him.

Without any change in their bored expressions, they went back into their books.

Victor smiled at their unusual reaction. He muttered to himself, "They're not nosy. I already like it here."

He stepped forward, toward two polished wooden doors. Right above each door, the Girls' and Boys' dorm letters were inscribed in gold.

Victor extended his hand and opened the door marked for boys. Stepping inside, he was greeted with a long and dark corridor.

The walls were dark grey in color, smooth, and worn out with time. The air felt humid and colder than the lounge. He stepped forward, looking at the doors on either side.

He glanced at his tag in the dim light of the corridor, and number 122 had appeared on it. Victor stepped forward, looking at the golden number engraved on the black wooden doors

99-

102-

112-

122-

He stopped, extended his hand toward the door handle.

Click-

The door opened. He stepped inside.

Inside the room, there were two neatly made single beds placed against the wall. With a small space between them. At the end of each bed, a wooden shelf stood against the wall.

Click—Clack

The door opened again.

Victor turned and saw a boy with long white hair, pointed ears, emerald green eyes, and sharp, refined, beautiful features, standing at the door.

His eyes flickered a little, and then they drifted towards a bed on the left side.

Victor stepped back in confusion. His mouth opened to ask, but…

The Elf stepped into the room and went toward the bed. He sat down on the edge of the bed. He crossed his legs, placed his hands above his legs, and stared at Victor.

Victor looked at the Elf from head to toe. Elf seemed very neat—unusually neat.

His black uniform was devoid of any crease. He was sitting on the bed like a girl, and his slim, thin body wasn't helping much.

Victor sighed, muttering to himself, "Why do these types of boys always encounter me. First Zack and now this."

Victor threw his bag on the bed and lay down. He put his hands behind his head, closing his eyes and exhaling.

"Excuse me?" he heard a smooth and silky sound.

A shudder passed through his spine, and he felt goosebumps all over his skin. He jumped out of the bed.

"What!" he snapped, eyes filled with fury as he glared at Elf.

Elf flinched back, with trembling eyes and shaking legs.
