Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Awakening.

Kain tossed and turned in his bed, sweat dripping down his head and body. He writhed in pain trying not to scream aloud while his father walked back and forth at the side of the bed in worry.

"How much longer will they take Doc?" Kain's farther looked towards the doctor sitting at his side as he asked. "I already told you I don't know Dean. It's not a normal disease so I can only attribute it to his mutation finally coming out."

The doctor held a hand over Kain's chest and started to emit a green light. The pain in the boys body slightly elevated but never left giving him some sort of comfort in his struggle.

"But why is it only happening now? I thought… I thought he would stay normal. Can't you do anything else?" Dean's eyes trembled as he watched his son struggle in his bed in pain.

"I'm sorry Dean. I'll do what I can to help him with the pain but I can't do much on my own here. My mutation isn't exactly amazing."

"W-What is this?"

Kain, the same boy currently writhing in pain on his bed had no idea what was happening outside, as his mind was somewhere else entirely.

The sky was black, millions of starts stared down at his floating form, galaxies spun like his presence had no matter, and the most pressing part was the gigantic pitch black face looking down at the boys body.

There was no expression, no eyes to determine any hostility, no mouth to speak from, just a empty face with a slight etherial glow around its form.

"W-Where am I? Who are you?" Kain's mind was in shambles, one moment he's sleeping in bed dealing with the annoying heat that randomly hit his body, then he appeared here with no control of his body.

"You… shall…. Do…. Mortal."

The gigantic figure lifted its hand before pointing towards Kain, the starts suddenly started to burn away, the galaxies twisted into nothing and Kain's body was pulled into the figures hand before everything went dark for him.

"Bring…. Hope."

Back in the real world Kain's body suddenly stopped moving, the sweat on his body stopped forming and his breathing turned for the norm as he went to sleep.

"What the hell just happened? Is he okay? I can't loss-" doc held up his hand silencing Dean before a green glow appeared over his hand again.

"He's not on any more pain, and his breathing is normal again. I guess his mutation finally formed properly and now he's just asleep, we should leave him to recover, and along him up could cause problems."

Doc stood up and walked towards the door of the room with Dean following after him and closed the door slightly as to still be able to hear if Kain had anymore grunts of pain.

"So?"

"So what? I already said I can't determine what was wrong with him without getting some ACTUALL doctors." Doc wiped a hand through his hair as Dean shock his head and sighed in annoyance.

"I know, I know… sorry… just seeing Kain like that… it just reminded me of Kelly." Dean sat on the floor and leaned his back agains the wall. Doc, looking down at Dean and followed him down, sitting next to him. "I know you're worried, but what you really need to be thinking about now is how you'll tell Kain about his mutation."

Dean sighed in frustration. "I know, I just hope he'll take it well. If he even wakes up." Dean lightly placed the back of his head against the wall. His heart ached thinking about how much pain his son had to go through.

Doc placed a hand on Dean's shoulder before standing back up. "Hopefully he'll wake up early tomorrow morning. If he's still not up just call me again, I'll be over as quick as I can." Dean looked up at Doc and smiled lightly. "Thanks Doc. You're probably the only person I cam trust with this right now, so it means a lot"

Doc smiled back then pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket handing it to Dean. "Call me on this number next time though, never know if someone's listening in on my other phone." Dean nodded and took the paper as Doc left the house.

"Wake up soon Kiddo…" Dean finally stood back up and headed downstairs.

Next Morning!

Kain still in his bed moved around uncomfortably. The bedding and clothes stuck to him due to the amount he sweat last night, finally opening his eyes he threw the blanket off his body and slowly sat up rubbing his eyes.

"Man… what a weird ass dream." Kain looked down at his PJ's and groaned as he peeled them off his body. "Must have been super hot last night, now I gotta wash these."

Throwing his PJ's into a corner of the room he quickly threw a new set on before leaving his room and heading downstairs.

Once down stairs he noticed his farther asleep on the couch with the TV still on. "Tsk! And he complains about me leaving it on when I go to sleep." Kain went into the kitchen after turning the TV off and opened the fridge, looking at everything inside we grabbed the milk and checked over its date and noticed it was expired. Opening the cap he gave it a sniff before recoiling in disgust then closing the cap and throwing it into the bin. "Jesus Christ. And now there's no milk left… guess toast will do."

After a totally intense and frightening 4 minutes of making his toast Kain made him way back into the living room and sat down on the couch across from his farther with a smirk. Having an evil idea he reach his hand forward for the TV remote, but instead of it sitting there waiting it lifted off the table and flew into his hand. •(´・_・`)•

Kain quickly shot up from his seat causing the plate holding the toast in his lap to fall and hit the floor. The suddenly noise woke Dean up who quickly turned on the couch and saw Kain standing there with a remote in his hand and a surprised look on his face.

"Kain! You're okay!" Dean quickly shot up and rushed towards Kain pulling him into a hug. The boy still confused about what he just did simply wrapped his arms around his farther before blinking multiple times then pushing his farther back lightly.

"Hold on, I'm okay? What do you mean by I'm okay? Why wouldn't I be? And what the hell did I just do? Wait you didn't see it so you wou-"

"Calm down Kain. Slow down for me kiddo, you're speaking to fast."

Kain closed his mouth and looked at his farther who had a relieved look on his face, like he'd finally gotta a promotion or that he didn't miss a game of snooker. "Last night you were… not well, Doc had to come by and lend a hand to make sure you slept alright and that nothing was wrong."

"Nothing was wrong? I don't remember feeling sick last night."

Kain rubbed the back of his head and accidentally dropped the remote onto the floor causing the batteries to fly out of the back disappearing who knows where in the house.

"Shit."

"Language young man."

"Sorry… wait that's not important right now! Dad, I think I have powers! I went to grab the remote earlier and then if flung into my hand like I wanted it to!" Kain looked at his farther enthusiastically. Dean smiled at his son's enthusiasm and sat down on the edge of the table, then picked up the remove from the floor.

"I'm glad you're happy about it… you understand his means you've got your mutant gene then right?" Kain's enthusiasm don't waver, instead he waved his hand dismissing the worried look on his farthers eyes, Kain knew that even when that man was smiling his true emotions were always in his eyes. "Pft! So? I'm still human, I'm just… built a little different now."

Kain didn't ever care about the whole mutant/ non-mutant agenda. He saw people with cool powers and water them as well, he always thought that if normal humans just thought the same way then none of the mutant rebellions would've happened in the past.

"Kiddo… things are going to be different now, you can't go doing any of this out there when the world hates us."

"I know dad, I won't use these dope ass powers outside in front of non-mutants, I promise."

Dean stared at his son before rubbing his eyes and pacing the remote on the other side of the table. "That's as good as I'll get I suppose. Now let's test your power ey?" Kain grinned and held his hand out towards the remote again.

"Do you remember how it happens last time?"

"What is this, a tutorial? I literally told you how it happened old man." Kain held his hand out and thought of the remote moving into his hand and once again it flew towards him, landing in his hand without issue.

"Boom! I'm like a wizard!"

Dean scoffed and folded his arms playfully before ruffling Kain's hair. "You little shit. You're lucky you didn't get mutant ability, you actually seem to have something good for yourself, try it on something else."

Kain nodded his head then looked around the room, remembering the 2 batteries that flew away from the remote he visioned then I'm his mind then held his hand out, palm facing the ceiling. Dean watched Kain intently, a faint golden glow appeared in two spots of the living room then the batteries appeared in Kain's hand.

"Okay… guess if not what I thought it was."

"Hell yeah! I'm going to try something else!"

Kain moved back from his farther then held his hand towards a pair of headphones sitting on a little corner table. "You will be mine. •(•̀o•́)ง•" The headphone's then flew from the table and into Kain's hand.

"HAHAHAHAHA! I'M AMAZING!!! •(•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑ • Kain was bouncing with joy as he tested his power on various different opbject around the house.

Dean watched on in confusion, he couldn't tell what Kain's mutant power was, he thought at first that it was a simple telekinesis, but now he's not too sure. The batteries didn't fly into his hands, they seemed to teleport into them, maybe he also held more powers.

"Kain hold your hand out for for."

Kain looked at his dad and nodded. "Sure old man." Holding his hand out he waiting for his farther to ask something.

"Now picture something you know neither of us have, imagine something you want then try using your power to make it appear." Dean knew this could potentially maybe kinda mayhaps lead to problems down the line but he wanted to test his sons powers.

Kain's eyes widened at his father's idea making his smack the top of his head. "Duh! Why didn't I think of trying that?" Kain's mind wondered to many different things he wished he owned, and new games console, maybe a top spec PC, maybe a night meat feast pizza.

"Okay, I got it! Now watch this old man"

The palm of Kain's hand had a golden glow, he aimed it towards the table and thought of something he wanted right at that moment. Dean watched with baited breath as golden particles formed ontop of the table before condensing into a "Pizza box?" Dean looked confused while Kain quickly opened said box showing a full 14inch meat feast pizza sitting in the pizza box.

"BAHAHAHA! NO MORE FOOD PROBLEMS ANYMORE OLD MAN!!! •(ദ്ദി˙ᗜ˙)•" Kain took a slice of the pizza and started to eat to his heart's content, thankfully it still tasted like a normal pizza but now he'd never have to pay for food ever again in life.

"I don't… How can you… that's actual food… you didn't pull anything towards you, maybe you teleported the pizza here… but that would be strange, that'd mean the exact pizza you imagined was also sitting in a pizza box… at 6AM? Far chance at that… does that mean you can also create things?"

Dean didn't bother taking a slice of the pizza he instead went for his phone and dialed the number Doc gave him. "Hm? Who you calling dad?" Dean held up his hand as the phone rang on and on and on before finally some one answered.

"Doc get over here now. Yes I know it's 6 in the morning but Kain's awake and he's already using his powers, and they're noting like mine or…. Just get over here…. Thanks Doc."

Kain took more of the pizza and smiled happily. "So Doc's coming back over? You want him to do his voodo mutant healing on me?" Dean looked at his son who was casually munching on a piece of pizza he made out of thin air. "Yes, just so we can tell what your powers are. Last thing we need is you losing control of them and accidentally spawning a tank."

Kain's eyes widened in surprise and a little bit of mischief but stopped when he noticed Dean glaring at him. "Okay okay! I won't summon any tanks! Gosh, boring old man." Kain sat down in a chair and happily eat the full pizza to himself.

"You hungry or something? That was an entire 14inch pizza." Dean raised an brow at his son who just smiled and patted his stomach. " I feel great. But I did notice that I got really hungry when using my powers a lot."

Dean nodded his head and walked towards the front door opening it and waiting for Doc to arrive.

25 minutes later!

"Well… I don't see anything wrong, but his mutant gene is definitely there and kicking." Doc held a hand over Kain's chest as a green light emitted from his palm. "I… can't tell what his mutant power is but I can tell you it's strong, when I look into a mutants power they all have a glow, and depending on how bright that glow is determins the power usually."

Kain smirked to himself before asking "And how bright is my glow? It's gotta be bright right? Probably like the sun hehehe." Kain snickered to himself making Doc shake his head playfully before remarking "it's very bright yes. A lot brighter than I've seen in… well years. If I had to give you a level.. I'd say your omega level for sure."

Dean hearing this for worried, if someone found our about his sons power, especially someone who wasn't a mutant, it could lead to a life time of running for Kain.

Kain smiled proudly after being told his power was equivalent to omega level, he knew the different types of levels mutants had, Omega was the strongest, capable of a wide range of distraction, being impossible to kill or capture, a absolute power house.

"Guess I gotta be careful then… don't want the government to try and kidnap me or cut me open to run tests."

Doc removed his hand and stood up straight with a sigh. "Be careful out there Kain. Seriously, I've been a mutant for over thirty years and it's hard, and it's going to keep being hard for our kind. Don't go showing this off to anyone you know isn't a mutant alright?" Kain nodded his head, he wasn't stupid enough to go around flaunting his powers to just anyone, only the people he could trust obviously.

Dean also stood up and moved towards them. "Thanks again Doc. I owe you one again." Doc scoffed then spoke " one? Try five by my count, that's five whole Beers you'll be buying me next time I'm at a bar." Dean scratched the back of his head and smiled "I guess I do huh… well, anytime you fancy going for a drink just holla."

Kain moved away from the two friends who started waking about their favourite beers and sports and made his way upstairs to get into some actual clothes.

Moving through his wardrobe he didn't find anything special that he wanted to wear. Then he got an idea "Heh! I can just make myself some clothes." Kain turned towards his bed and held his hand over it.

With a quick golden glow a pair of black jeans, white button up shirt, black socks, and brand new white shoes appeared on the bed. "Man I love this." Quickly throwing his clothes on he then made his way downstairs and headed for the front door.

"And where do you think you're going? You just got your powers and now you want to go out?" Dean turned from his seat and glared at Kain who stopped at the front door turning his head slight to look at his farther.

"I'm just going out to get some fresh air, I won't do anything stupid I promise." Kain smiled then quickly bolted out the door before his farther could speak back.

"Huff! That kid." Dean said

"Let him adventure, he knows what he can't and can do out there." Doc smiled as he watched Kain walk down the street from the window. "You do have yourself a hand full with that one though." Dean sighed then slouched into his chair.
