Was his worry directed at me?
As soon as he noticed that I got back up and was fine, his tone completely shifted back, and he bolted off. This time though, I was paying attention and could see him go left.
My arms quickly hardened and blocked the impact as he punched me sending me to the opposite side of the room. My feet had been grounded well enough to prevent me from flying into the air, but still, his punches were too strong for me to hold my ground.
I could feel my heart beat thumping in my arms… even though they were hardened, they still took a lot of damage from his punch.
How was I supposed to survive this? If he punched me just one more time my arms might fly off.
He bolted toward me with his fist hurling in my direction, but I was able to avoid him just in time by jumping super high into the air. I was able to avoid him with barely any intention behind my movements. It was as if this was second nature to me-
He jumped up after me grabbing my leg and slamming me into the ground.
SLAM!
Dust irrupted from the floor as my body smashed through some of the concrete cracking the ground around me.
"COUGH!" I spit out more blood from the impact.
WHY WHY WHY! I screamed in my head. Why can't I do anything!? I don't know why I think I could do anything… but I have to do something.
As I tried getting up, a sharp pain in my side stuck me. Multiple of my ribs must have been broken… I don't even know how my back didn't break.
I stood up, with a slight hunch, and fully transformed my legs. I'm not sure why, but I couldn't transform my whole body, let alone my arms. I think I've taken too much damage.
"I don't know why you hate me so much, but I'm not going out without a fight." I wiped the blood off of my face.
I looked up, only to realize I was way too focused on getting back up. He wasn't even there anymore. I frantically looked around the room to see him standing next to Anatoly's body.
"So, you released him." He said as he crouched down.
I didn't respond. I was too worried about what he'd do to him if I said anything. I had to keep him distracted as I try and think of something.
But it was too late. He lifted his arm up above his head, and was about to swing down.
"I guess we do not need him anymore since you killed him…" He swung his arm down to cut through Anatoly's throat.
Right then Anatoly blocked his blade with his bare hands, with some blood falling onto his face.
The man's face immediately changed as his eyes widened and he jumped back.
"How- how?" He looked like he had seen a ghost.
"What… you didn't kill me?" Anatoly mocked him.
"SHUT UP!" The man yelled in frustration.
"You should have died as soon as you walked out of the pod…"
He has a good point… his heart beat was so low that it doesn't make any sense that he was able to move around so much, let alone break through the chains constraining him.
"Potatoes tomatoes… or something like that." Anatoly stated while looking confused at his own statement.
"What I really find interesting—is that you're trying to kill your own sister…" He held his chin as he thought.
Wait what? Sister? How would that even make sense-
My eyes widened as I realized. How did I not notice earlier… we look almost the same, and the picture he had in his office showed us together. Also… I'm just stupid. I just remembered and I don't know how I didn't catch this, but someone called him Mister Hunter earlier, which is also Lydia's last name. I guess I was too scared to notice that.
"I mean I also tried to kill her, but now that I'm paying attention… her face looks, interesting?" His head tilted.
"DID YOU JUST CALL MY SISTER UGLY!?!"
"What! No No! That's not what I meant!" Anatoly said as he flailed his arms around.
The mans face scrunched up as he became visibly angry. He darted towards Anatoly and sliced towards his neck, but Anatoly dodged just in time by flinging his head back. He then dodged to the side as Lydia's brother smashed the ground.
"Yo yo! I said I was sorry-" Anatoly stopped to speak, and the man used this opportunity to slice him.
His face still looked blurry to me, but I could see blood dropping onto the floor from his face as he drooped his head. I covered my mouth in shock, fearful of the worst… but Anatoly was still able to speak.
"I gave you a chance, mostly because I don't think you've ever actually tested on me, but also because I wanted to see what you would do." He said in a serous tone as his head was lowered.
There was a slight pause, maybe because Anatoly wanted to wait for a response, but nothing came, so he quickly uppercutted the man into the air. He sent him flying, but with enough control as to not hit him into the ceiling. He then jumped high into the air and formed two fists above his head swinging them down and slamming the man into the floor causing a shockwave.
The impact was so brutal that I lost my balance and fell onto my backside. I couldn't image the man being able to get up after that.
"Cough! Arg…" The man started coughing up blood as he pulled himself out of the small crater that was made from the impact.
"Wow! I'm surprised that you're even moving." Anatoly said as he started clapping.
"I give up." The man said as he coughed some more.
"What?" Me and Anatoly both said at the same time.
Why was he giving up so fast… and easily?
"Why?" Anatoly asked audibly frustrated.
"I mean look at you. Your face has almost healed from that giant cut I gave you." He looked defeated as he said this while struggling to breath.
Wait he can see Anatoly's face? I mean there's a chance he can't… but how would he know how deep the cut was if he couldn't?
"And I cannot mov- COUGH!"
I could just barely see Anatoly's eyes, and I could tell he wasn't really listening to what the man was saying. His eyes narrowed, and I could tell he was about to do something.
I jumped up and screamed, "WAIT!"
Anatoly had just bolted toward the man with his arm transformed into a small but deadly blade. He came to a stop right before the mans throat, and redirected his gaze towards me.
"Oh, I almost forgot about you." He said coldly.
He redirected his gaze back at the man and reeled his arm back ready to slice him.
He showed no hesitation in his action as his eyes emptied, and he swung for the kill.
