Hey there, potential readers! Kieran Silverblood here, coming to you from the depths of my writer's cave where I've been subsisting on a diet of coffee, existential dread, and the occasional granola bar I find tucked between keyboard keys.
So, you're wondering if you should dive into "The Gothsend Chronicles"? Well, let me be the first to tell you that this story is basically what happened when I read approximately 8,492 fantasy novels, threw them into a mental blender, picked out the bits I liked, removed the chunks that made me roll my eyes so hard I could see my own brain, and poured the resulting literary smoothie onto the page.
After years of shouting "I would have written it differently!" at innocent books, I finally decided to put my keyboard where my mouth is. Turns out writing is... hard? Who knew? Not me, apparently, when I boldly declared I could write an entire series without once using the phrase "he released a breath he didn't know he was holding."
Five chapters in, and our protagonist Alec has already died, been reborn with memories intact (classic), discovered he has super special magic (shocking), and learned he's probably a royal bastard (never been done before, I'm clearly a pioneer). What can I say? I contain multitudes, none of which have original ideas!
But hey, if you enjoy:
Reincarnation that doesn't involve truck-kun ( Not today truck-kun )Magic systems with actual rules (mostly)Political intrigue where people occasionally make intelligent decisionsA protagonist who isn't both completely oblivious AND the most powerful being in existenceVery slow burn romance that makes sense. ( When does this happen? )
...then maybe give my little story a chance! New chapters drop every Sunday and Wednesday at 9am and 4pm CST, because apparently I hate myself and love arbitrary deadlines.
I'm not doing this for money or fame (good thing, too, since I'm getting neither). Just the pure, unadulterated joy of sharing the weird stuff that lives in my head with unsuspecting internet strangers.
Five chapters in and I've already written myself into several corners I'm not sure how to get out of. Should Alec's magic be even MORE special? Should I introduce another character whose name I'll immediately regret choosing because I have to type it 8,000 times? Will I remember all the rules of my own magic system? Stay tuned to find out! I certainly have no idea!
Give it a read if you're bored, need something to do during your lunch break, or are just a kind soul willing to validate a stranger's questionable life choices. I promise it gets better after chapter 3! Or maybe chapter 7. Definitely by chapter 25. Probably.
With equal parts hope and terror, Kieran Silverblood
P.S. Yes, I know my pen name sounds like I should be writing vampire romance. No, I will not be taking questions about this.
