Chapter 1 - The Cleaner Who Owned Them All

At night, when the people of the city were returning to their respective houses, in the city's most lavish restaurant, many people had gathered. They were all in their late twenties and had met after ten years at a college reunion. The sounds of laughter reverberated in the entire grand hall.

"So, what are you doing, Patricia? I heard that you resigned from your previous job," Evonne said as he picked up the red wine glass between her index and middle finger.

"I am working in the biggest hospital group in the country as the chief nurse," Patricia said with a proud smile on her face.

"Do you mean you got into Magnolia General Hospital?" Raynold asked as he looked with a shocked expression at Patricia.

"Yes. I have told you guys that I will enter the biggest hospital group anyhow," Patricia stated. Raynold raised his wine glass and asked them to toast to Patricia. They all complied with that and raised their wine glasses. Patricia smiled as everyone toasted to her with a loud cheer.

"Guys, do you know who I saw today?" Patricia looked at their curious gazes, who were eager to know what she wanted to tell them.

"Hey, no more suspense. Just say it already," Claude stated.

"I saw Constantine in the hospital," Patricia said with a chuckle.

"Constantine? Who?" One of them asked as he had almost forgotten about that name.

"The Ex of Patricia," Matilde replied.

"Oh, please! He was not my ex. You all already know about it," Patricia stated and started to laugh. Her laughter confused them. After a minute, she stopped and wiped the tear that had appeared at the edge of her eye with the pad of her finger.

"He is a cleaner in the hospital. His condition is worse than in his high school days. I cannot believe that he is still alive. Guys, you should've been there to see his state," Patricia said and started to laugh again. The others also started to make fun of Constantine.

"That guy always disgusted me," Ariane asserted.

"I thought that he would die in the streets, begging the people. Why did he even attend a high school when he has to do cleaning work? I could have given him this work without hesitating for a second. I believe he is at least good at cleaning," Pierre said.

"You bet? I won't even give that dirtbag a cleaning job," said Patricia with an annoyed look.

They all started to laugh again and joked about Constantine.

At that moment, a man in a black business suit and black Maybach goggles entered the party hall. The laughter soon died, and everyone's attention turned to this devilishly charming and tall man. The heels of the shoes clicked on the floor beneath him as he walked past the people who came across him.

Patricia turned to look where her friends' gaze had directed.

She looked at the shoe that the man was wearing, it was shinier than the diamonds women wore, and his glowing face looked brighter than the stars in the sky.

'Who is this man?' Patricia thought and waited for him to reveal his entire face by taking off his expensive goggles.

The man finally looked to the center of the party hall and took off the goggles. He ran his fingers through the left side of his hair where they slightly parted. Many of the ladies in the hall were mesmerized by that move of the handsome man.

"Why does he look the same as Constantine?" Reynold asked.

"I am surprised that all of you have forgotten this face," Constantine said with a chuckle. Yes, the man with devilishly handsome looks was none other than Constantine Lévêque.

"I cannot believe a cleaner has come in this kind of attire. Have you forgotten what happened ten years ago?" Patricia mocked him again. "No matter how good an outfit you wear, we all know what you are in reality!" She left no grounds to humiliate him again.

"Yes, enlighten us? Who is giving you such replicas to humiliate yourself?" Asked Pierre.

"You still have not changed, Patricia," Ignoring the latter, Constantine said with a serious expression on his grimace. He then slid his sleeve slightly up and looked at the time on the watch.

Pierre was shocked to see the watch in Constantine's hand. He knew that it was the most luxurious watch in the world, as he had seen the same watch with Barrett a few months ago when he told him that only three such watches existed in the world.

"I do not have enough time as I have important work," Constantine said and looked at them. He called for a waiter and asked for a whiskey glass from him. He picked it up and recalled the day when Patricia threw the whiskey over his head.

"Pierre, you cannot afford to give me a cleaning job. I am expensive. Even if you will spend your entire family wealth on me, that will also be less," Constantine remarked and took a sip of the whiskey.

"Patricia, you must not be proud of a position. I can kick you out of my hospital in a mere second," Constantine affirmed as he glued his eyes on her.

Everyone was shocked to hear what they just heard. Did he just say that Magnolia was owned by him?

"You should not play jokes with us, Constantine," Benjamin said this time. "How can someone like you own Magnolia General Hospital?" He asked all of them not to believe Constantine and asked Reynold to call security and throw him out of their sight.

"You all are still some arrogant bunch of idiots," Constantine finally provoked them when Pierre stepped up to punch him hard when he caught his hand, and the next thing he did was to flip him onto the floor. Pierre felt as if his spine was broken because of the impact of the fall.

Constantine put his hand inside his pocket and took out his business card from his wallet, and threw it above Pierre. "I will give you free health service," Constantine said.

Reynold quickly went to pick it up as Pierre was not in a state. His eyes grew big, and then he darted his eyes toward Constantine. "You are really the owner of Magnolia General Hospital," he said, and it seemed a bolt of lightning struck the entire party hall. Their jaws dropped to the ground to know that Constantine was the owner of the biggest hospital group in their country.

Constantine gulped the remaining wine and put it on the circular table next to him.

He turned to leave but halted in his steps. "You are fired, Patricia," Constantine said and walked out of the party hall, creating havoc among all of his high school classmates, who once bullied him.

Constantine had returned as the richest and powerful man in his country. He would avenge everyone who once tortured him and made fun of him. This was just the beginning of his quest to take revenge on all of them.
