The Spirits—mythical beings once allied with the Beasts—save him. They bring him to Mundale, a hidden realm where the rules of the human world don’t apply. For the first time, Gayle feels alive. He feels seen. Yet his salvation comes at a cost: his very existence threatens to spark the embers of a long-dormant conflict.
