Chapter 1 - Prologue

She was talking on the phone with her brother who was currently at his own wedding. While she was walking alongside of the streets.

???:"I can't believe you got married before me, why didn't you tell me that you had a girlfriend sooner!"

Her voice carried a hint of playful envy

Her brother chuckled in response, his voice warm and affectionate.

???:"I wanted it to be a surprise. Plus, I knew you'd pester me about every detail if I told you too early."

She rolled her eyes, even though her brother couldn't see it.

???:"That's not true! I'm just... curious, that's all."

Her brother laughed again, clearly amused.

???:"Sure, let's go with that. Just admit it, you're a hopeless romantic at heart."

She huffed, pretending to be annoyed.

???:"And you're an annoying little brother who needs to tell me more about his love life"

Her brother feigned a mock offense.

???:"Hey, I tell you plenty about my life! It's not my fault that my love life is surprisingly more interesting than yours."

Lena let out another exaggerated sigh.

???:"Har har, very funny. But seriously, why am I always the last to know about these things?"

Her brother's tone softened, genuine affection in his voice.

???:"You know I love you, sis. I just wanted you to be surprised and happy for me, without having to listen to your endless dating advice."

She smiled despite herself, knowing he was probably right.

???:"Yeah, I guess you're right. But I still want the dirt. Spill the details."

Her brother laughed once more, clearly enjoying teasing his sister.

???:"Alright, alright, I suppose I can give you a few details. But you have to promise not to go overboard with the questions."

She perked up, her curiosity piqued.

???;"Deal. Now, spill."

She noticed the green light and started to cross the street, still chatting on the phone with her brother.

???:"So, tell me about her. Is she pretty? Smart? Nice?"

Her brother laughed at her barrage of questions.

???:"Slow down, sis, let me catch my breath. Yes, she's beautiful, smart, nice, and everything I could've asked for in a partner."

She couldn't help but feel a pang of envy, but she pushed it aside.

???:"I'm going to hang up now- See you at the wedding my dong-saeng~"

Her brother's voice turned exasperated, but there was a hint of laughter in it.

???:"Ugh, I told you to stop calling me that. I'm not a kid anymore, you know."

She couldn't help but tease him a bit more.

???:"You'll always be my dong-saeng, no matter how old you get. See you at the wedding, little bro."

Her brother let out a mock-sigh, resigned to the fact that he would never escape her affectionate (and slightly annoying) nickname.

???:"Fine, fine. See you later, noona."

She chuckled and said her goodbyes before hanging up the phone.

As she walked, she clutched the gift she had picked out for her brother, hoping that he would appreciate the thought she had put into it.

Her mind wandered, imagining the look on his face when he opened the present and the joyous expression he would have during the wedding ceremony.

She couldn't help but feel a mix of happiness and a hint of sadness. Her little brother was all grown up and getting married, leaving her behind as the last one left single. But she tried to shake off those thoughts, reminding herself that this was a joyous occasion and she should cherish the moment.

Her thoughts drifted to the present she held in her hands. She had spent hours deciding on the perfect gift, something that would show how much she loved and cared for her brother.

She hoped he would appreciate the effort she had put into finding something thoughtful and meaningful. After all, it wasn't every day that her baby brother got married.

As she became immersed in her thoughts about the present, she failed to notice the car speeding towards her at alarming speed. The world around her seemed to fade into the background as she mentally rehearsed the speech she wanted to give at the wedding.

The sound of the speeding car was drowned out by the pounding of her own heartbeat, which filled her ears and left her oblivious to the impending danger.

The car crashed into her out of the blue, sending her body flying across the road in a gruesome and sudden collision. Bystanders gasped and screamed at the horrific sight that unfolded before their eyes.

Blood spattered the pavement and smeared the front of the car, staining the road with an ominous red reminder of the tragic scene that had just occurred. People hurried to her side, desperate to help or offer some form of aid, but the gravity of the impact was all too clear.

"Is she breathing? Is she alive?!"

The man shouted, panic evident in his voice.

But the silence that followed seemed to answer his question. Her body lay motionless, the only signs of life being the trickle of blood from her injuries and the faint pulse felt by the man kneeling over her.

Other bystanders gathered around, their faces etched with shock and disbelief as they realized the gravity of the situation.

???:(What's happening to me? Why aren't I feeling any pain? Am I going to die...?)

Her mind whirled in disoriented confusion, trying to comprehend the strange lack of pain she was experiencing. The sounds around her seemed distant, as if filtered through a thick haze.

As she lay prone on the road, her eyes wide open, she became acutely aware of the scene unfolding around her, but for some inexplicable reason, she couldn't feel anything. No pain, no fear, just a strange sense of detachment from the entire situation.

???:(No way... No way-! Am I really going to die?! I don't wanna die! I haven't even gone to my brother's wedding! I haven't even seen my little brother's face during our time apart! Am I really going die?!)

The reality of the situation began to sink in, and a wave of despair washed over her. Thoughts of her brother's wedding, the special relationship they shared, and the moments she had missed were all that flooded her mind. The thought of never seeing him again, of never being able to witness the joy and emotion on his face during the ceremony, was overwhelming.

???:(My little brother I'm sorry... I couldn't be there for your wedding... I'm sorry... please be happy on your wedding okay...)

She closed her eyes, tears streaming down her cheeks as she whispered a silent apology to her little brother. She couldn't be there for one of the most important moments of his life, and the guilt and regret washed over her in waves.

But then, something strange happened. Her vision slowly came into focus, and she found herself not lying on the cold, hard surface of the road, but instead lying in the midst of a strange and unfamiliar landscape.

???:(Are these... my memories from my past life?)
