Chapter 1 - Bad Beginning Arc (Part 1)

In this world, people believed legends were nothing but fairy tales.

No one had ever seen the world of the Soul Hunters, yet in truth… every legend was real.

The world they lived in was merely a false face hiding reality.

Our story begins with a boy named Teo.

---

Teo:

— Dad, will you come home early from work today?

Father (smiling warmly):

— Yes, my son, I'll come early, I promise. But stay with your brother Leo, alright?

Teo (cheerfully):

— Okay, Dad!

---

As night fell, the sky darkened and the rain began to pour.

Teo sat by the window, still waiting for his father.

Leo (tired voice):

— Enough, go to sleep. Father will come back tomorrow anyway.

Teo (hopeful):

— How do you know? Maybe he's already on his way home...

Suddenly "Tiring" — a sound echoed.

Through the rain, a messenger appeared and dropped off a letter.

Teo quickly put on his coat, stepped into the rain, and picked up the message.

---

🕯 The letter read:

"Toki Takoshi has failed the mission.

During the task of measuring the new land and the new operation of the Hunters' Association, he was defeated."

---

Teo's eyes filled with tears as he read the words. He cried, his tears mixing with the falling rain.

Leo (angrily):

— Enough! Stop crying already!

It's all your fault! Father and Mother left us because of you!

Teo (trembling voice):

— Brother… why are you saying this? Isn't Father's life precious to you?

Leo (with tears in his own eyes, but burning in anger):

— No! Father is no longer with us. He's dead! Crying won't change anything.

I'll tell you this once—leave me alone!

Without looking back, Leo walked away into the darkness.

---

Teo collapsed onto the ground in the pouring rain, sobbing.

The earth swallowed both his tears and the rain that fell upon him.

Suddenly, a figure approached, holding an umbrella. The man bent down and whispered softly:

— Forgive me…
