Chapter 25 - 24- You learn fast

At those words, she blocked one of Ryosuke's strikes with an almost casual motion, and before he could understand what was happening, she used his own strength against him. In an instant, she had him pinned to the ground with controlled force, her fist stopping just a few millimeters from his face.

Ryosuke froze, his gaze locked on his aunt's. His heart was pounding—not from exhaustion, but from the shock of how easily he had been defeated.

Lying on his back, he tried to make sense of what had just happened. He had expected a gap in experience between them, but he had never imagined it would be this vast.

"Anyway, I expected as much…"

Yuki slowly straightened and looked at him for a moment, a faint smile softening her features.

"You're doing well, my dear nephew. For someone who's only recently awakened to jujutsu like you, your level is far above average. You manage your cursed energy well. The only problem is, it's not yet instinctive—you still need time to adjust. And that time means death against an experienced sorcerer."

Ryosuke lay there for a moment, staring at the sky above him, his mind racing. He let out a small chuckle, more to himself than to anyone else. This situation, though humiliating, only stirred his excitement.

"Again," he finally said, slowly getting to his feet. He brushed the dust from his clothes without taking his eyes off Yuki. "Let's go again."

Yuki watched him intently, her smile widening slightly.

"Very well," she said at last, nodding with a satisfied air. "But this time, try to surprise me."

She had barely finished speaking when Ryosuke reappeared behind her in the blink of an eye, his foot cutting a swift arc through the air toward her side.

Time seemed to slow, but Yuki reacted with surprising agility. She bent forward with natural grace, narrowly evading the blow. Using the momentum Ryosuke had built in his attack, she pivoted sharply, her arm extending in a perfectly controlled motion. She struck her nephew in the ribs with measured force, enough to throw him off balance.

Despite the sharp pain shooting through his side, Ryosuke managed to intercept the strike just in time. Gritting his teeth, he stepped back to regain his footing.

Quickly repositioning himself, he was already preparing another offensive. But before he could even move, Yuki was already on him—like an untouchable shadow. In a fraction of a second, she seized his face with firm precision and slammed him to the ground with no apparent effort.

Ryosuke's back hit the ground hard, knocking the breath out of him. He looked up at his aunt, slightly dazed, but Yuki, unruffled, stood over him with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"That was a good counter," she said with a faint smile, slowly loosening her grip on him. "But you still have that latency problem. Your reactions are too slow." She stepped back, giving him room to rise.

As he got up, Ryosuke clenched his fists. Her words stung, but he knew she was right. He could feel it himself—he had to consciously spread his energy throughout his body, judging the quantity and distribution.

"If my energy wasn't so inexhaustible, this would be much more troublesome."

He was taking advantage of his massive reserves of cursed energy by skipping the complex distribution steps.

"What if I just fully leaned into that?"

With that thought, Ryosuke lunged forward, muscles taut, eyes locked on Yuki.

He charged with startling speed, his clenched fist aimed straight at her. Yuki, ever vigilant, studied his movement with precision. She prepared to intercept his strike, arms out to seize him and redirect his force—but at the last moment, she changed her mind.

She noticed it.

Instead of blocking as she normally would, she slipped aside in a fluid sidestep.

That's when she felt a strange vibration in the air. Where Ryosuke's fist should have landed, a shockwave burst outward, as if the air itself had bent under the force of the blow. The leaves of nearby trees trembled, and a sudden breeze swirled around them.

But Ryosuke wasn't one to let an opening go to waste. As she dodged his first strike, he vanished almost instantly from her sight. A fraction of a second later, Yuki sensed a presence behind her. Instinctively, she turned to block—but he was already there, his foot cutting through the air toward her side with deadly precision.

Yuki raised her arms to block, but the force of the impact sent her flying back, lifting her off the ground. She heard the air whistle past her ears as she hung suspended for a brief moment.

But Ryosuke wasn't done. Using the momentum from his kick, he pursued her along her trajectory. Just as she began to descend, he was already on her, his body twisting with precision to deliver another kick—this time from the side.

Still airborne, Yuki raised her arms again, barely managing to block. Even so, the impact drove her hard into the ground, her feet scraping the dirt as she fought to keep her balance. She winced at the pain.

Straightening with visible effort, she glanced down at her left arm. Her shoulder was dislocated, the limb hanging at an unnatural angle.

Despite the injury, Yuki smiled faintly. She lifted her gaze toward Ryosuke, who stood ready to strike again, his eyes burning with intensity.

"I see you've understood," she said. "With your amount of cursed energy, you don't need to worry about distribution or dosage."

With a sharp, controlled motion, she popped her shoulder back into place, the sickening crack of the joint realigning echoing in the air.

"Once again—you really are incredible," she added with a smile. "You learn fast."
