"Huh..? Oh, i guess so.." i laughed awkwardly.
"You're 28 years old but your success is already at its peak" My senior told me.
"Ah yes.. It wasn't easy but i was able to pull it off" I replied to him.

I am Eitan Lewis, 28 years old. I am an author. I write romance novels and i had sold over tens of thousands of copies.
Sometimes, whenever i look at something, i get this familiar feeling that I've seen this object before. I think they call this..
"Hey, have you heard of the Mandela Effect?"
Ah, yes, that's what's it called.
"Yeah.." I replied to my friend Adrian as i was walking with him.
"This theory really blew my mind! There were also quite a lot of evidences supporting it.. But enough with that, how is your new novel progressing?" Adrian asked.
"Oh you mean Avalon? yeah it's going pretty well, although i had to put a pause to it. I ran out of ideas so I'm still searching for new inspirations" I answered his question while scrolling through my phone.
"Hmm, it's really hard writing novels without references huh, but your romance novels are selling well, where do you get the inspiration to write those?" He asked again in a curious manner.
"Just imagination.. and i also watched quite a lot of romantic movies back then" I answered.
He sighed and said "Right? It's not like you had a girlfriend your entire life lol, you're already almost 30 bro, why not try dating?" He said to me as he enters the taxi he called earlier.
I just laughed it off but i knew something was off about it. We've been bestfriends for almost 14 years now so I'm sure he knows me a lot. But I have a feeling that i really did had a girlfriend..
I went to a nearby library and started searching for ideas for my next chapter. Hours had passed and i fell asleep. When i work up i was surprised it's already dark outside.
As i walk outside, i took a different route back to my place, I had never taken this route before..
While I'm walking, i tripped on a what seemed to be a stone sticking out of the ground. It wasn't just any normal stone, it has a pretty clean cut so i immediately thought that a human might have trimmed it.
When i looked at it much closer, it had a cross sign on it.
Did i just stumbled upon an unmarked grave...? What's a grave doing in the middle of a forest..
And there i realized, i got lost.
I noticed a wooden box near the stone and picked it up. Curiosity got ahead of me so i opened it without hesitation. There i found an old pocketwatch that didn't seem to work because of how old and dusty it is.
While I'm intrigued by what i found, i saw flashlights going in my direction. I was happy to see patrols and guards roaming around but suddenly i realized i am inside a private property and the punishment is heavy for trespassing one..
So like any other human being would do, i instinctively ran away while they chased me as well.
As i ran and ran and ran, i stumbled upon an abandoned building which looked like a school..
However, the odd thing is that it looked very familiar.. and gave me a sense of nostalgia. I brushed this off and continue running until my vision suddenly started to blur out of nowhere.
The watch started to run backwards. Everything went hazy, my surroundings felt like it was squeezing together and i felt like I'm being sucked inside a vacuum or something..
When i came to my senses, i was inside a classroom.
I had a shocked expression on my face as i saw the date on the face of the board. "June 16, 2012".
"DID I JUST WENT BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL?!?" I shouted, not knowing that I'm surrounded by students.
Ah.. i remember these people.. they were my classmates in 10th grade..
I pinched my cheeks to see if I'm just hallucinating or dreaming but it turned out to be painful.
So this means.. I'm not dreaming?
As i walked around the hallway, i was greeted with a smile by my fellow classmates. I completely forgot about them.
While walking, i was full of thoughts. How is this possible? Being transported to the past? Was there an experiment which failed..? I was lost inside my mind.
*Someone grabbed me by the shoulder*
It was my bestfriend Adrian.
"OH! ADRIAN!" I shouted at him.
"Bro, why are you so loud so early in the morning?" He said in an annoyed tone.
I was too worked up seeing the younger version of my bestfriend once again. When i came across a mirror, i looked at myself and saw the me 12 years ago.
Young, scrawny, and eyes that are full of hope. I really did go back huh?
I was getting a hang of my situation but the shock still remains because this is something big and i cannot comprehend it.
I asked Adrian, "Bro, do you think time travel is possible?"
"Hmm.. Yes, but not in our current technology. Maybe somewhere in the future it'd be possible" His answer as he thought very carefully.
He always had the brain for these kinds of things.
"BUT NEVER MIND THAT! Have you heard of this speculation that's spreading in the internet?!" He asked in an excited tone.
"What speculation?" I asked him in a curious way.
"Some people say that the world might end this year, they based it on the Mayan calendar.They said a meteor would be the case of it. It's already been talked about a lot of times now in social media" He said while smiling.
"Why are you even smiling even though you're reading about the world ending?? Are you messed up in the head bro?" I said to Adrian.
I gave it some thought, i knew that had to be wrong because i was alive in the future, noone died and no meteor fell on earth that caused a devastating impact.
While having a conversation with Adrian, a girl went pass me. I didn't know who she was but her scent and vibe was terrifyingly familiar..
She caught my attention and i followed her using my eyes. Seeing her back, flashbacks started emerging from my head.
Memories that were unfamiliar to me but she was there. She was the girl i made promise to several years ago.. How could i forget someone as beautiful as her?.
"Christine huh? You got a pretty good eye for girls Eitan." Adrian jokingly said.
Yes.. her name was Christine.. Christine Moana.. 12 years ago, she was my Girlfriend.
