Chapter 36 - DW: The Mechanic Chapter 30

I wake up after 3 hours, one of the perks of having a Time Lord body, I suppose, but that's only in my thoughts for a few seconds before I rise from my old bed, making way to the living room.

As I enter, I see the large pillar housing that contains the devices I made earlier. Walking over to them, I start the test now that I have the energy to do so, and I find that it's all working. Not only that, there was a ping on the tracking device.

The only logical conclusion is that the master has just arrived. However, he would leave again to take the woman who eventually shot him to the end of time, where he will meet the remnants of humanity, whom he will turn into his murder ball army.

After confirming his arrival, I make sure the cloaking device is activated. Thankfully, it's online; the only issue is that it's a significant power sink. My electric bill is going to be enormous if I don't create a power source for it.

After conducting final checks, I noticed that the pile of materials, both metal and non-metal, is larger than it was last night. Alice probably went for more while I slept. Well, I did go to sleep in the middle of the day, having stayed up for days planning and building the devices.

Moving to the pile, I examine it while also designing a power generator that would supply the pillar and its devices. In my head, of course, there are no materials that a country would deem dangerous, like plutonium or any other radioactive materials. As for the power source, I would not rely on something as primitive as radioactive materials available on Earth, with my TARDIS creating something similar to a miniature Arc reactor, although not precisely the same.

After finding everything I would need I send my mechanical force to my TARDIS, telling Ada to begin making the material used as fuel, obviously not your ordinary conventional fuel, something that is used on Gallifrey, similar to how people would have generator in their basements for emergencies, the fuel source a by-product made during the time Omega was trying to harness the power of stars, that being crystals containing radiation from a star.

Yes, it was literally solar power on steroids; these crystals contained pure solar radiation. They were so potent that a single crystal could power an entire country on Earth for a decade. On Gallifrey, however, this was not the case with the advanced technology available. The amount of tech made to make life more convenient was ridiculous. Heck, the amount of power needed to sustain the citadel alone was so large compared to the power that Earth uses that it makes Earth's power usage look like a small AA battery.

As for whether a TARDIS can replicate these crystals, the eye of Harmony has a dying star, and there is plenty of radiation spare. With this in mind, I started making the device using lead to make the outer shell, yes, lead. I could have replicated the materials from Gallifrey, but that would be a waste of time and resources. It makes no difference other than the fact that I need to make the outer shell a bit thicker than if I used Gallifrey metals. Still, I could utilise the available resources rather than forcing Ada to work overtime, even though she could do it. I would rather not; she is not just a TARDIS, she is my partner in crime, no matter what, she will be a constant through this new life of mine.

Once I was out of my thoughts I start to gather the components I will need while also communicating with Ada, the best part about the solar crystals was that they had no shape limit, so I thought for fun I should design the reactor to power the pillar, to look exactly like Tony Starks Arc reactor, not because it made any difference. Still, just because I can, and the fact that it's better than having to put a gemstone like a crystal into a slot above the reactor, I wasn't building a massive reactor, like the one Tony did in the cave; it's miniature. However, this limits power generation and may not be as efficient as a full-size one. I do not need a full-size one, and once this is over, I can take it with me for future projects.

I get to work making the reactor while Ada produces a supply of solar crystals. It takes me about three hours to finish. With the reactor ready, I move to the pillar and insert it into the pillar.

As it clicks into place, RB-02 comes over to me, stopping next to me. The top opens up, exposing its storage compartment, and I put my hand in it. It didn't take me long to find what I wanted, pulling out a glowing triangle contained in a see-through box, along with a pair of black gloves. The see-through box is made of a material found on Gallifrey. Despite it looking like glass, it's a metal that is radiation-proof; the gloves are also radiation-proof.

After putting the gloves on, I then press the exposed front of the reactor, causing it to open up and reveal a triangular groove. I move to the see-through box, open it, and take the glowing triangle from it. I then move my hands toward the open reactor and insert the glowing triangle into the triangular groove.

Once the reactor springs to life, I close the front of the reactor shut, allowing it to engage its activation fully. If I had left it open, it would only semi come online, to prevent the solar radiation from leaking.

With the reactor activating, the power readings on the display I had installed while I waited for the solar crystal. Begins with how power reading, as well as safe levels, is achieved. This is because, due to the temporary setup, I used less-than-optimal components, except for the reactor, which was made using the best available components.

There should be no issues with it, as the power required for all the devices in the pillar will not even be enough to cause the reactor to operate at a level that would pose a risk of radiation leaks.

Once the reactor is powered up, I work on a watch-like device that will allow people to enter and see the building. I may have gone overkill, but with the amount of power the reactor is supplying, the cloaking device.

With these devices up and running, I took some time to work out how long I have till it all kicks off. I had six months until the master's arrival, which has already passed. At the time I started building, most of the devices were already in place.

That leaves 18 months, of which I have used about four of those that have gone by, that leaves me 14 months to mess with the master while also ensuring that I have stuff in place to help Martha, that's right I will not be there till the end, I will act in the shadows is the best that way, the reason only the Doctors method would have the desired effect.

That effect being that the Master's wife must kill him, and the easiest method was the Doctor's plan. However, that does not mean I will make it easy for you. I will add my own little things into his precious archangel network, and he will add the hypnotic suggestion. In contrast, I will add something more practical, a way to use it for encrypted communication, making the resistance much more of a thorn in The Master's plan, using his own network against him.

That's not all I will do; I will make his creation, which was supposed to be his greatest strength, into his greatest weakness, without relying on the population. I could add an amplifier to make it easier for the effect the Doctor wants to achieve.

Unfortunately, I am solely relying on coding to do this. If I could get my hands on the satellites themselves, I could do a lot more that the Master would not be able to detect, despite his age. I say this because each Time Lord has a speciality that goes with their title. For example, the Master was always good with planning and strategies; that's where his speciality lies. Mine, however, is machines.

All Time Lords will pick up other things; it's natural for someone who can live thousands of years. But Time Lords are usually the best at their specialities, and luckily for me, the Master is around the same age as this unerased version of the Doctor, by which I mean having his memory wiped by Division.

For a Time Lord to beat another at that individual's speciality, they need to be more than 4 times their age. The Master is only around 900 years old, which is only about three times my age. I could still make changes to his satellites without him being able to detect the changes. It's just a matter of getting close to them to make changes. Well, I have 14 months to do it.
