Chapter 31 - Chapter Thirty: The Weight of the Past (과거의 무게)

Lee Ji seo POV (Point Of View)

We arrived at the museum, but there was no sign of Taemin yet. "Should we get going?" Min Hyun said before walking into the museum. We followed him, and the guards on duty seemed to know everyone, well, everyone except Dae and me.

We got to the hall, and my phone buzzed with a notification, 'Is that from Taemin?' I took my phone out and unlocked it to see a message from Toby.

My eyebrows rose in shock, 'Toby?!' I stared at his message. It was just a 'Hi'. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ha-ri noticed my state and placed a hand on my shoulder, "Is that Taemin?" She said before looking down at my phone. She saw the message and looked back at me, "Oh..."

"Is everything okay, Jiseo?" Min Hyun asked. I looked up from my phone, "Yeah, everything is okay." I said with a nod. My phone buzzed with a notification again, and I looked back at it.

Toby:

I'm so sorry I haven't been responding to your texts and calls. I was so busy with exams. I hope you understand.

I stared at the text message in silence, and the crowd noise faded as I stared at every word. My phone buzzed with another notification, pulling me out of my thoughts.

Chuck:

I'm here!!! Where are you guys?

"Oh, Taemin is here already," Ha-ri said, after she read the text on my phone. I stood there in a daze, my mind still going over Toby's texts.

Ha-ri noticed and took the phone from my hand to reply to his message. After that, she kept the phone with her, "I'll have this until we are done, then you can have it back." She then kept my phone in her purse.

A few minutes later, I felt a hand on my shoulder, bringing me out of my daze. I turned and met Taemin's smiling face. "Sorry I took so long to come here," he said before glancing at the Kim brothers.

"Oh, I almost forgot that you were her tutor for History," Taemin said, looking at Min-ho. Min-ho stayed silent, looking at Taemin's hand on my shoulder, before looking back at him.

"Hmm," Min-ho replied. "Shall we get going then?" Min Hyun said, clapping his hands to get our attention. We nodded and then visited many national relics, including the pensive Bodhisattva statue, and also went to the Buddhist Sculpture Room.

Min-ho explained everything with ease, and I was so amazed by his knowledge of these relics. "Wow, you are so awesome at this. Thank you so much," I said with a clap, showing my excitement.

Min-ho nodded, and we visited other relics. I paused my movements, then turned to Ha-ri, "I want to use the restroom."

Ha-ri nodded, "Okay, I'll come along with you. You guys should wait for us. We will be back," she said before grabbing my hand and leading me to the restroom. When we got there, Ha-ri turned to me.

"Okay, I know you didn't come here to pee, so what's wrong?" She asked with her arms crossed, giving me a look of concern.

I sighed and looked at my reflection in the mirror. "Do you think I should let go of my unrequited love for Toby?" Ha-ri unfolded her arms and looked at me, "Is that even a question? Yes, you should. It is only hurting you, and I don't think he knows that. Have you confessed to him?"

I shook my head, "No, I was even glad that I was moving to Korea so I wouldn't develop more feelings for him, but it seemed to have made my feelings for him grow, and I don't know what to do." I sighed.

"Here's what you'll do: you'll forget about him and focus on yourself. He ignored your calls and messages and then used exams as an excuse. He probably would blame his exams for blocking you from seeing his updates due to exams," Ha-ri said, then rolled her eyes in frustration.

My lips raised to a smile before it dropped. Ha-ri noticed my mood shift and hit my side with her elbow. "You should also ignore him, and then after our mid-terms, message him and use the exact excuse he is using."

I giggled, then she joined in. I paused, remembering something, "Hey, has Min-ho always been that nonchalant?" I asked, remembering the way he replied to my thank you earlier.

Ha-ri nodded, "Yeah, but he wasn't always like that when he was younger, though." "Well, people change. He was a kid then, but now he is a teen, so I understand. Shall we get going? The guys are waiting for us," I said.

Ha-ri nodded her head, and we walked out of the restroom.

Jeon Arin POV (Point Of View)

I walked out of the toilet stall after they left, "Wasn't that Ji seo's voice?" I asked. My brows furrowing in confusion.

I walked out of the restroom. "I'm sure it was her and Ha-ri." I saw someone who looked like her and followed closely behind her. I saw her and Ha-ri walking up to Min-ho, Min Hyun, and Dae.

"So it was her!" I said in shock. My brows furrowed in anger when I saw her and Min Hyun smiling, "Not only is she trying to seduce my fiancé, but she is also going for his older brother. I'll show her." I said before walking off.

I went to where my mum was and tapped her shoulder, "Mum, did I tell you that Min Hyun is back from the States?" My mum turned to me in shock, "Really? Eun-kyung didn't tell me that her eldest son is back."

We came to the museum because of Taemin's dad, but he hasn't arrived yet. My mind kept drifting to what I saw earlier, 'I'll get you, Ji seo. Watch your back.'

Lee Ji seo POV (Point of View)

"Hey, where's Taemin?" I said, noticing he wasn't here with us. "He wanted to take a call. Oh, here he comes," Dae answered. I turned and saw him approaching us.

"Sorry about that. Can we get going?" Taemin said, smiling at us. We nodded and went to see other national relics in the museum.

We got to see some of the relics before the museum's closing time. We walked out of the museum. "Okay, so how are you guys going home?" Min Hyun asked. "We decided to go to karaoke after we visited the museum," Ha-ri spoke up.

"Oh really? Then you guys should have fun." Min Hyun said before walking to his car. Min-ho followed behind him, and Min Hyun stopped when he noticed Min-ho following him.

"You're not going with them?" Min Hyun asked in confusion. Min-ho looked back at us and then looked back at his brother, "No."

"You can come with us," I said. Ha-ri nodded, and I heard Taemin scoff next to me, which made him receive a sharp glare from me. I turned back to Min-ho with a smile, "Think of it as a 'Thank you for your help' offer."

Min-ho shook his head, "No, thank you." His brother turned to him sharply, "Are you crazy? She asked you to come along with them so nicely, and your reply is no?"

"It's my choice, isn't it?" Min-ho said before walking to his brother's car. Min Hyun turned to us with an apologetic smile, "Sorry about that, Ji seo."

"It's okay," I replied with a smile. Min Hyun waved at us and walked to his car, where Min-ho was waiting for him.

"What an asshole. After you asked him nicely, he decided to reply like that," Taemin grumbled. I glared at him, and Ha-ri nodded her head, "I have to agree with Taemin, Ji seo. He is acting strange."

"Do you think he got possessed by one of the relics?" Dae asked with a raised brow as he watched their car drive off.

We stayed silent, pondering Dae's words. Then we looked at the museum, "Probably." Taemin replied.

We then burst into a laughing fit and walked to Taemin's car. Ha-ri handed me my phone, and I took it from her. "Remember what I said," she whispered. I nodded in understanding. 'Time to move on.'

Kim Min-ho POV (Point Of View)

"Why did you reject Ji seo's offer?" My brother asked as we drove home. "I saw Arin in the museum today. She was following Ji seo when she came back from the restroom. I guess she saw Ji seo and followed her, then she saw that Ji seo was with us and had this look on her face. Ji seo has to stay away from me to stay away from danger."

"Arin can't do anything to her. Don't worry." Min Hyun said with a chuckle. I stayed silent and looked out the window. "People change, Hyung."
