The birds fly high above the clouds. They travel through the clouds and push through and down towards an old West town. This town however doesn't seem quite right.
Each part of the town had cogs clicking all around it. Each person dressed up in old West clothes laughing around rather joyful about their current life.
All the while a bit of commotion is taking place at the Sheriff's office.
Bang!!!
The Sheriff's station is in a uproar as the town hears the sound of gunfire ringing through the town. Everyone is running a mock and freaking out. That is until everything seems to run back and reset back to the moment of the gunshot...roughly at sunset.
This was one full month ago and everyone there still remains. Trapped.
1 Month Later
A train speeds down through a dusty land scape. No tracks on the ground but cogs clicking at the bottom of the train. The train hovers and rushes on hovering forward.
All the while within the train a pair sit. A fair skinned man with purple hair and orange highlights, purple eyes and a Emerald jumpsuit and black boots with fingerless gloves. With a woman brown skin dressed in Jean shorts and a white sleeveless shirt, ankle high boots and wrist bands and rings with sliver hair and orange highlights.
The young man by the name of Lynx has found himself falling fast asleep almost out of boredom. All the while the woman first name Taliah leans over the table between with a smirk.
"What do you think you're doing?" [Taliah]
Lynx opens his left eye.
"Trying to get some shut eye before we arrive." [Lynx]
Taliah leans deeper in.
"Well these trains are pretty fast I'm sure we'll be there in no...." [Taliah]
The train announcer sound rings out Arrival at Old West Country Corral shortly
Lynx sighs in annoyance.
"Looks like we got to go to work." [Lynx]
Lynx hops out his seat clenching his fist. Taliah on the other hand shakes her head and gets up.
"Let's get going then shall we." [Taliah]
The train comes to a hault within the station. What would normally be rather lively and full of life is quite dear and no low on energy. A train station with the resemblance of one you'd see in old West Towns now just has this one oddity a small ticket booth with a bizarre looking woman.
As she full clad in cowboy attire but with bizzare goggles and face paint that seems to resemble a clown. This woman is Mariah and she is the only person left of the old West town.
"Howdy there partner my name is Mariah and welcome to the old West corral but I don't reckon you go inside because people don't seem to come out when they go in." [Mariah].
The pair looks on at her, then to each other and then back to her.
"Ummm were hear you deal with Rogue Gear situation to believe you have." [Taliah] pulling out a pocket watch with a see through lid and cogs clicking and clanking together.
Mariah jumps up with excitement almost leaping out of the booth. She runs over towards the pair.
"Oh my gosh your Rangers, the premier Earth defence force, explorers and heroes that this world knows!!! I can't believe I finally get to meet some!!! Did you...." [Mariah]
Taliah raises her hand "Ummmmm your an exciteble one." [Taliah]
Mariah haults for a second a scratches her head.
"Sorry, I get like that sometimes." [Mariah]
"Don't worry about that, what's up with the town." [Lynx]
Lynx then walks up to Mariah with a massive smile. Mariah gets a bit nervous all of a sudden but shakes it off.
"Oh yes come this way!" [Mariah]
Taliah looks at Lynx as they walk on. "Looks like she fancied you for a second." [Taliah]
Lynx looks a little confused "She did?" [Lynx]
Taliah shakes her head in disbelief for a second but smiles at the confused Lynx. Taliah and Lynx make their way outside the station to an open dirt space before the town.
"So about a month ago there was this weird wave that hit the town and ever since no one has left, no has messaged out and even from the outside I can't see anything." [Mariah]
As they arrive at the town they look at empty town without a single life form in sight. Just the cogs clicking throughout the town.
"I thought you said the town's people were still in the town." [Lynx]
Lynx was confused as he makes his way towards the entrance. Mariah however rushed out to try and stop him.
"Don't! If you go in you can't come out." [Mariah]
Lynx stop but his hand bounds off this bubble of energy by the threshold of the town. Lynx step back but with massive grin on his face.
"This is so cool." [Lynx]
Lynx gets this stary eyed look on his face which catches Mariah off guard.
"Ummm how can this be exciting everyone is trapped in there?" [Mariah]
Lynx look back at her for second. "Oh not that, I'm talking about the town, the barrier is just a bonus." [Lynx]
Lynx steps back a bit further with an almost excited look on his face. This catches Mariah off guard.
"What's so amazing about this, it's just an old boring imitation old West town. You've probably seen a boat load of cooler places." [Mariah]
"Simple, as Rangers were all at heart born adventurers and we often joined to be able to explore this bizarre world of ours and...." [Lynx]
"We stop seeing the excitement in that small things that is when we need to retire." [Taliah]
Mariah and Lynx look at her with a bit confusion. " He says that a lot." [Taliah]
"But anyway we need to make sure what we're dealing with so I'll just take a quick look." [Taliah]
Taliah reaches into her bag and tries and looks for something. However Lynx at the mean time has placed metallic gloves with cogs at the wrist running up to the back of the band.
"Let's Light It Up!!!" [Lynx]
He shouts before rushing through at incredible speeds. Mariah was the first to notice.
"No don't!!!" [Mariah]
It didn't do much as Lynx just launched himself through the threshold creating ripples through the barrier. Taliah was stunned for a second before immediately pulling out a pair of binoculars.
The binoculars have these collection of cogs between the eyes. "Of course he'd do something like this." [Taliah]
Mariah looks over at her with shock "Does he do this often?[Mariah]
Taliah twists and turns and looks around scanning the dimensions and energies of the dome. The binoculars seems to lock onto the three energy signatures one was clearly Lynx. The binoculars also note how the energy was controlled and not wild.
Taliah puts the binoculars away. "I've got good news and bad news, the good news is Lynx is fine, bad news this isn't a Rogue Gear but rather the work of a Gearsmith." [Taliah.]
Mariah was confused "Ummm I'm not exactly sure what that means?" [Mariah]
Taliah reaches into her bag again pulling out what looks like a revolver but with a gear for the hammer and cogs under the grip of the handle. "Simple Rogue Gears are unregistered Gears that have unknown abilities ranging from mondaine to deadly, Gearsmiths are those who have synchronised with Gears Rank of C or higher and right now one of them is erecting this barrier." [Taliah]
Mariah looks on in confusion "so how do you know his safe?" [Taliah]
"Because Lynx isn't one to go down that easily. Now either way if we don't come out after three days call for back you got it!" [Taliah]
Taliah then rushes towards the threshold and leaps forward through it.
Leaving Mariah outside the town. "Did she say Lynx...as in Lynx Fullgrave the Great Inferno." [Mariah]
All the while Taliah pops out into the town that is now filled with people. She looks about and is completely stunned by the view and confused as to where they came from.
"What is happening?" [Taliah]
She then shakes her head "No, I need to find Lynx first." [Taliah]
It was at this moment when Lynx dropped out of the sky. Slamming to the ground with his right knee and left hand.
Taliah rushes over to him "What the heck are you doing?" [Taliah]
Lynx gets up scratching his head "Well I was just looking to see if I could get out from over the town but nope the bubble really is just that." [Lynx]
Taliah looks up and then back to Lynx. "So we're stuck here until we can solve this problem." [Taliah]
Lynx looks over at Taliah nodding his head with a bit too much excitement. This gets a sigh out of Taliah. "Just great." [Taliah]
Meanwhile a man dressed in all black with a black mask with a half Moon smile, oval left eyes and Crescent Moon left watching from a far. "Good back up had arrived." [Mysterious Figure]
