You're right — I cut it by accident. That line is the whole point of the scene. It shows Hansel's cruelty and makes Theo stepping in matter. Here's the corrected version with "with your face" back in, plus the "line of view" edit you wanted:

*Chapter 1: Desk Mates*
_The Luckiest Star in His Eyes_
"Make sure you're the top scorer this semester, Teddy," his mother said from the driver's seat.
"I will make you proud, Mom." Theodore didn't look at her. He was watching the sidewalk through the window.
Two girls in Crestview uniforms walked past. They wore the same navy blazer, same plaid skirt. They had the same chestnut hair, same green eyes, same heart-shaped mouths.
But one was shorter. Prettier. Her hair was short and straight, blunt bangs framing her face. The other's curls fell past her shoulders.
Neither of them noticed him staring. They waved to their guardians and disappeared through the front gates.
Theodore didn't look away until they were out of his line of view. Only then did the car pull off.

"Gretel, your school is beautiful," the shorter girl said.
Gretel grinned. "Wait till you see the library."
They headed for their lockers. A blur of blush-pink hair slammed into Gretel.
"Gret! I missed you so much!" the girl screamed, throwing her arms around Gretel's neck.
"Stas, always loud," Gretel said, but she was laughing. "I didn't miss you one bit."
Stacy gasped, clutching her chest. "Wa wa wa. What a bad friend you are."
"Joking. Obviously I missed my BFF in the world." Gretel hugged her back, hard.
When they pulled apart, Stacy blinked at the other girl. "Wait. Gretel, you have a twin?"
"No, silly." Gretel rolled her eyes. "This is my cousin. Remember? My mom had a twin."
The shorter girl stepped forward and held out her hand. "Hi. I'm Starry Knight."
"I'm Stacy Cuddles, but you can call me Stas." Stacy shook her hand, then grinned. "Okay, you two are definitely related. Same face."
They started toward homeroom, already talking over each other, when the hallway exploded.
"The Stunning Trio is here!" someone shrieked.
Three boys moved down the hall like they owned it. A crowd of girls followed, phones up, whispering.
Starry glanced once, then shook her head. "So what's our first class?"
Stacy stopped walking. "No way. Gret, Star is just like you. Totally unaffected by the Stunning Trio."
"We have math," Gretel said, grabbing Starry's wrist. "Let's leave this lover girl here."
Stacy trailed after them, still staring down the hall.
They slid into their classroom. Stacy and Gretel dropped into their seats.
"You have to wait for the class president to assign you a desk," Gretel said, pulling out her math textbook. She flipped it open and started skimming.
"And who's that?" Starry asked.
"Me."
The voice came from behind her. Starry turned and forgot how to breathe.
He was tall. Taller than anyone had a right to be. Jet-black hair, ocean-blue eyes, a pointed nose, and lips shaped like a heart. When he spoke, two dimples cut into his cheeks.
He snapped his fingers in front of her face. "What are you staring at?"
"The unknown," Starry said before she could think.
He looked at her like she was a word problem he didn't want to solve. "There's only one vacant desk. It's next to mine."
"Okay." She grabbed her books off Gretel's desk.
He walked to the first row, first column, and sat. Starry took the desk beside him.
By the time the bell rang, the room was full. The class president stood and went to the front. He cleared his throat once. The noise died.
"Good morning," he said.
"Good morning, Prez," the class chanted back.
"As you know, it's the first day of the semester. Our form teacher is unavailable, so I'm standing in. Do whatever you want. Just don't do anything that affects me. That's all."
He went back to his seat.
_What kind of class president is this?_ Starry stared at him.
"Stop staring. It creeps me out," he said without looking up.
"Sorry." She snapped her eyes to her desk.
Mr. Baker came in, exchanged greetings, and started teaching. Starry lasted ten minutes before her chin hit her chest.
A sharp poke in her arm. "Stop sleeping in class," the class president muttered.
She jerked awake. He was already facing the board again.
Three more classes crawled by. When the lunch bell rang, Starry launched herself out of her seat.
"Gret, lunch?" Stacy said, grabbing Gretel's hand.
The three of them went to the cafeteria, swiped their meal cards, and found a table.
"So," Stacy said, grinning around her straw, "how is it being the desk mate of the Supreme Overlord, Theodore White?"
"Tiring." Starry stabbed her rice. "He's weird and annoying. How is it his business if I sleep? And his speech felt like we were being addressed by a mummy."
"Hush." Gretel kicked her under the table and tilted her head. "Don't let him hear you."
Starry turned. Theodore sat two tables away. Alone. Staring at a full tray he hadn't touched.
"Tsk." Stacy sighed. "What a handsome dude. Too bad he's cold and weird."
"Maybe all that reading made him distant," Gretel said.
"Distant?" Stacy snorted. "More like freaky."
They ate in silence after that. When they finished, Starry gathered their trays. "I'll toss these."
The waste bin was near the Stunning Trio's table. Starry kept her eyes down and walked fast.
She didn't see the foot.
Her ankle caught. She went down hard. The trays flew. Leftover curry splattered across a pair of white sneakers.
She looked up.
"How dare you?" Hansel Waters snarled.
Starry stayed on the floor. She couldn't feel her knees.
"So what are you going to do about my shoes?" Hansel demanded.
Stacy and Gretel were there in seconds, hauling her up. "Star, are you okay?" Gretel asked, ignoring Hansel.
"I'm… I'm fine," Starry said.
"Hey. My boss is talking," one of the other boys snapped.
"I'm sorry for getting leftovers on your shoes," Starry said.
"Just that?" Hansel sneered.
"What else should I do? Pay tribute?" Starry's voice shook.
"Do you know who I am?"
"No. Who are you?"
"I am the amazing Hansel Waters."
"I don't know who you are."
"What? Go ask around. But first — clean it. With your face. Then we're even." Hansel smiled.
"What? No. I've already apologized."
"Arthur. Gar. Help the lady out," Hansel ordered.
Hands shoved her. Her knees hit the tile again. Stacy screamed. Gretel grabbed Starry's arm, but two boys were stronger.
"Hansel." The voice was calm. Slow. "How low of you, picking on a girl. How do you sleep at night?"
Theodore stood at the edge of the table. He hadn't raised his voice. He didn't need to.
Hansel's head snapped up. "How does this concern you?"
"It does. I'm her class president. I can't sit by and watch you bully a student. If I tell the school authorities, you won't get away with it this time." Theodore's smile was lazy. His eyes were not.
"You don't have proof."
"Try me."
They stared at each other. The cafeteria went silent. Hansel looked away first.
"Let her go," he bit out.
Arthur and Gar dropped Starry and backed off. The three of them stormed out.
"Jerks," Stacy whispered.
"Are you okay?" Gretel helped Starry stand.
Theodore glanced at Starry. Said nothing. Turned to leave.
"Desk mate," Starry called. "Thank you."
He stopped. Didn't turn. "Don't call me that." Then he walked out.
"Guess he isn't that bad," Gretel said, watching the door.
"Or that nice," Stacy added.
The three of them stared after him. The cafeteria was already buzzing again. But Theodore White had spoken twice in one lunch period. And both times, it was for Starry.
