The infuriated Jasper Vance stomped over and growled, "Tessa, are you fucking looking for trouble?"
Tessa Caldwell retorted, "Even if you die, I won't die."
Jasper gritted his teeth, "I'm telling you, your Caldwell Group is finished."
Tessa shrugged, "Finished is finished, as long as my dad doesn't starve."
She would rather not have Caldwell Group. That way, her stepmother, who looked down on the poor and fawned over the rich, would definitely not stay with her dad. Then she could bring her dad and Mia home and take care of them.
As for how others lived, what was it to her?
She looked at Faye across from her, "Hubby, would you be willing to help me take care of my dad?"
Faye, enjoying Tessa's admiring starry eyes, pinched her chin and gazed at her with deep eyes, "Do we even have to ask? Of course."
Jasper, watching this infuriatingly inseparable couple, couldn't help rolling his eyes in exasperation.
"You... Tessa, don't think I'll ever marry you."
Tessa was completely unconcerned, treating him as if he didn't exist, her thoughts entirely on Faye, "Hubby, let's go shopping later. Will you buy me some jewelry?"
Faye readily agreed, "Sure."
Jasper ground his back teeth and forced out a twisted smile, "Tessa, you have fun with your pretty boy, but remember, don't come begging to me later!!"
Seeing how handsome Faye was, Jasper assumed from the bottom of his heart that he was just a pretty boy living off a woman.
Tessa glared fiercely, "You're the pretty boy, your whole family are pretty boys."
Jasper trembled with anger, just as a waiter came to deliver the bill.
He rudely pointed at Tessa, as if to say "just you wait," then quickly left.
Tessa waved goodbye to him cheerfully, "Bye-bye."
Then she covered her mouth, laughing so hard she had tears coming out.
Faye didn't find anything particularly funny, but he was amused by how exaggerated she was, slightly curling his lips, and in the soft light, his usually aloof features grew somewhat gentle.
Tessa suddenly raised her eyes, staring into Faye's, and unexpectedly found herself electrified.
His cold eyes lost their sharp edge, becoming delicate and soft, seemingly even showing affection... but only for a fleeting moment.
Making one feel it was just an illusion.
If only he wasn't "gay"—but is he really "gay"?
Tessa bit her lip, disinclined to beat around the bush, directly asking Faye, "So, you like girls, right?"
The bizarre question made Faye pause, and he lazily replied with a question of his own, "What do you think?"
Uh!
Tessa had initially thought Faye would either answer affirmatively, insisting he liked girls.
Or would, in a cool and aloof way, say something like, so what if he didn't?
But why was his response asking what she thought?
Why not answer directly? What did that mean? It's driving her crazy!
Could it be, he's avoiding the question? Does he really like men?
That's why he remained unmoved when she made a move on him.
Hence, the real reason wasn't that she lacked charm, but her gender was wrong.
Seeing Tessa's expression of unhidden disbelief, "Oh my god, you actually don't like women, you like men!" "Oh my god, it's not that I lack charm, it's that my gender is wrong!" Faye squinted, hiding all expressions on his face.
