Felix's gaze wandered across the crowded room, his eyes scanning the sea of faces with disinterest.
He had attended countless high-society events like this before, and after a while it all started to blend together in a blur.
The polite laughter, rehearsed conversations, everything was just too familiar, terribly predictable.
That was when he saw her.
She faced the glass window, her back to the room as she gazed at the glittering skyline.
Everything about her, her posture, the way she seemed to be in a whole other world of her own away from the noise in the room, caught Felix's attention.
He just couldn't help but wonder, what she was thinking about.
Just then, she turned from the window, and made her way to the exit.
Not wanting to miss his chance, he immediately followed behind catching up with her right before she made her way out.
"Hi, I'm Felix", he introduced his voice low and smooth, as he reached her side.
"I couldn't help but notice you from across the room."
Her eyes widened us she turned to meet his gaze. Startled from his sudden approach.
For a second neither of them spoke, entranced.
After barely regaining her composure, she replied, her voice barely above a whisper, "I'm Aurora".
Locking in a gaze once again, the world around them paused or so it seemed.
Felix felt a sudden, sharp jolt straight to his chest. Aurora seemed just as entranced, her lips parting slightly, though no words left her mouth. The noise of the party behind them completely faded away.
They stood there for a moment, locked in a gaze that seemed to stretch for an eternity. And Felix felt a jolt of electricity run through his entire being awestruck.
Aurora, as well, seemed entranced. Her lips parted as if she were to speak, but not a word left her mouth.
Then, she blinked, bringing them out of their trance.
Embarrassed, she immediately looked down to her shoes, her cheeks flushing slightly.
"Sorry, I got lost there for a while."
" Well I guess the feeling is mutual, he laughed"
" Aurora, huh, a beautiful name for a gorgeous lady as yourself,
Of course not, she answered. Want to get our of here? She asked her eyes sparkling with mischief.
With his grin matching hers, he nodded and they walked out together.
