Chapter 1 - First meeting

Rain poured endlessly over the movie set, turning the ground cold and slippery beneath the blinding white lights.

"Action!"

Kim Jae Hyun ran forward exactly as the script demanded.

Then—

CRASH.

The fake glass shattered around him as he slammed onto the floor. Staff screamed in panic while cameras stopped rolling instantly.

"CUT!!"

The director threw his headphones down angrily.

Jae Hyun slowly stood up, rain dripping from his black hair, irritation burning across his face.

"Who set this floor like this?!"

Nobody answered.

One assistant quietly whispered to another,

"…That's the fifth accident this week."

Everywhere Kim Jae Hyun went, something always went wrong.

And lately…

It was getting worse.

That night, the exhausted director stopped him before he left.

"You should visit that witch."

Jae Hyun frowned immediately.

"…A witch?"

"They say she handles curses. Bad luck. Strange things."

Normally, Jae Hyun would've ignored something so ridiculous.

But after weeks of accidents, collapsing props, broken lights, near car crashes, and sleepless nights…

Even he was beginning to wonder.

What if this wasn't normal anymore?

Rain continued falling as he arrived at a small shop hidden between old buildings.

Warm golden lights glowed softly behind the windows.

The sign above read:

REAL LOVE SPELLS — 100% SUCCESS (No Refund)

Inside, a girl sat behind the counter counting money happily.

"Ahhh… easy business~"

A customer nervously asked,

"Will my crush fall in love with me?"

The girl smiled confidently.

"Of course. Premium spell costs extra."

Then she whispered quietly,

"Money first."

Jae Hyun stared silently.

Was this really the famous witch?

The bell above the door rang softly as he entered.

The girl instantly switched expressions and smiled professionally.

"Welcome~ I can solve all your problems."

Jae Hyun removed his hood slowly.

"Can you stop bad luck?"

Her smile froze for half a second.

"…What kind of question is that?"

But business was business.

"Of course," she lied smoothly. "That's my specialty."

Candles flickered around the room while smoke curled through the air dramatically.

The girl began chanting complete nonsense with fake confidence.

"Spirits of luck… remove his curse…"

Jae Hyun stared blankly.

"…Are you serious?"

Before she could answer—

A candle suddenly tipped over.

Smoke exploded everywhere.

A shelf collapsed loudly behind him.

CRASH.

Books and glass rained onto Jae Hyun once again.

The girl froze in shock.

"…Why is he actually unlucky?"

For the first time, Jae Hyun grabbed her wrist firmly.

"You said you can fix this."

His voice turned cold.

"So fix it."

Panic flashed through her eyes.

I'm dead.

Still, she forced a smile.

"Fine."

She pulled out paper dramatically.

"I'll take responsibility."

Minutes later, a ridiculous contract sat between them.

CURSE REMOVAL CONTRACT

Rules:

Stay near Kim Jae Hyun

Prevent dangerous incidents

Payment required

Jae Hyun signed instantly without hesitation.

The girl's eyes sparkled brightly.

Jackpot.

Outside, rain still poured across the empty streets.

The two stepped out together awkwardly.

Then—

CREAK.

A giant signboard suddenly snapped loose above them.

The girl widened her eyes instantly and pulled Jae Hyun toward her.

Their faces stopped inches apart.

Everything froze.

For one dangerous second…

Neither moved.

Then—

THUD.

Both crashed onto the wet pavement together.

The girl groaned painfully.

"Why is your life like a disaster movie?!"

Jae Hyun looked at her quietly beneath the rain.

"…You're part of it now."
