Bing Shi's body materialized inside a blindingly bright room. There were no windows, no doors, like a psyche ward for crazy people.
She twirled around, her long black hair flowed with her movement. Her shorts and shirt fluttered with the wind she created from her spin.
'A small storage space, system that can materialize into animals, can give me personal items for free, monitor people in my stead...The only thing that cost points are the items I want to give to other people. This sounds too good to be true.'
Bing Shi stopped in her tracks, eyeing the orb in the corner. It looked like a camera ready to record everything that happened to her. It gave her the creeps. She could feel its gaze from every angle.
[I am a World Patching System 001. I'll be the one to guide you into new worlds. You may rename me if you wish.] Her system's voice resounded in her head.
["System."] Bing Shi mentally replied. ["Why are there so many benefits? Are there conditions that I should know about?"]
[Host is required to be kept in top shape to better take care of the issues of the worlds we travel to.]
["Is it possible to meet my boyfriend in the worlds I go into?"] She asked a question that held a lot of importance to her.
[The system doesn't know if the host can meet her lover in those worlds. But there are no restrictions to finding new love. Host will come in contact with a lot of men on your journey. Host may accept them if they do not impede your mission.]
Bing Shi scrunched her nose at her system's statement. Her mind immediately revolted at the thought. If she couldn't find her lover, she would finish her missions and wish to be with him again. 100 000 points... She was willing to work hard to gain those.
[Please take these pills to help you in your mission.]
Pills suddenly appeared in her hands. Strength, speed, and rejuvenation pill. There was a cool down period before she could take them again due to her body's limits.
["Thank you."] Bing Shi pocketed them, planning to test their effects later, ["System, can you turn into a snake?"]
The system didn't bother to reply. It directly transformed from a small orb into an equally small, if not smaller 6-inch white snake.
She took the system into her hands and petted its head.
'He's afraid of snakes.'
With a particular stroke that was harder than necessary, the snake let out a soft hiss as its head was pushed down.
'I can still try and find him by scaring him off with a snake,' she betted on a small probability.
'These missions better not force me to use seduction as a skill. I don't plan on sleeping with men I don't know. Just thinking about it... ugh... Ugh! I want to vomit.'
Bing Shi shivered in disgust.
["Are there any suicide pills in your inventory?"]
She realized she might not be the most suitable for this job after all. She was afraid of the things she might be required to do. A small hope was enough to push her through, but sometimes fear would creep in.
[No. Host is required to stay alive until the end of the mission.]
'Of course.' Bing Shi sat on the cold marble floors in an attempt to make herself comfortable. As she crossed her legs, she kept the system clasped in her hands for the sake of petting it some more.
