Leaving Polaris trembling in the alleyway, Su Mu adjusted his round sunglasses and stepped out onto the bustling streets of New York.
Almost immediately, he noticed pedestrians pointing in his direction and whispering among themselves.
"White hair, round sunglasses... do you think he's the White Demon?"
"No way," a companion scoffed. "Probably just some edge-lord cosplayer. What are the odds the actual White Demon is just casually walking down the street?"
Su Mu raised an eyebrow. White Demon? What the hell was that?
He glanced up at a massive Jumbotron broadcasting the evening news across Times Square. After watching for a few seconds, he understood.
I'm famous?
On the giant screen, a scruffy, intense-looking man in his thirties was passionately recounting his tale.
"I was hiding in a ruined electronics store, barely a dozen meters away from the White Demon! I watched him completely obliterate that gray mutant! I swear to God, he is absolutely stronger than Magneto! He is undeniably the strongest mutant on the face of the Earth!"
???
Dark lines formed on Su Mu's forehead. What the hell was wrong with this damn reporter?!
Yes, he would absolutely become the strongest mutant in existence eventually. But right now? He was nowhere near that level!
Forget the fact that his Limitless couldn't filter out telepathic attacks yet; even physically, cosmic entities like the Dark Phoenix would vaporize him in his current state.
Declaring him the "Strongest Mutant Alive" right now was just painting a massive, global target on his back before he had fully developed! How was he supposed to grind his levels in peace now?
He squinted at the name tag displayed below the reporter's frantic face: Eddie Brock.
Eddie Brock... The name felt incredibly familiar. Su Mu searched his memories.
Isn't that Venom's host?!
Oh, perfect. You just wait, you cute little symbiote-host. The next time we meet, I'll be sure to show you some "special care."
Shaking his head, Su Mu ignored the broadcast and turned his gaze toward the tallest, most ostentatious structure in Manhattan.
It was one of the most iconic landmarks in the Marvel Universe: Stark Tower!
If he wanted an Arc Reactor, he needed to make contact with Tony Stark. Heading straight to Stark Tower was the most efficient route.
According to the timeline, Tony Stark had recently returned from Afghanistan and was likely on the verge of a violent conflict with Obadiah Stane. If he saved Stark's life during the climax, surely that was worth an Arc Reactor as compensation, right?
And if Tony still refuses to hand one over... well, he happens to have one conveniently installed right in his chest! Su Mu thought with a diabolical smirk.
Pulling the hood of his fresh white hoodie up to obscure his hair, Su Mu began his leisurely stroll toward Stark Tower.
As he walked, the ambient light in a microscopic radius around him seemed to constantly distort and dim. Guided by the transcendental precision of the Level 2 Six Eyes, his Level 3 Energy Absorption passively and continuously siphoned trace amounts of thermal, kinetic, and electromagnetic energy from his surroundings, directly channeling it into his physical vessel.
While ambient absorption was significantly slower than directly grabbing a high-voltage power line, it was infinitely sustainable and completely untraceable. This passive technique didn't just drastically enhance his combat endurance; it optimized his overall energy farming efficiency!
The System chimes formed a quiet, rhythmic melody in his mind:
[System Notification: Energy Point +1]
[System Notification: Energy Point +1]
[System Notification: Six Eyes EXP +1]
[System Notification: Six Eyes EXP +1]
[System Notification: Energy Absorption EXP +1]
[System Notification: Energy Absorption EXP +1]
...
Stark Tower dominated the Upper East Side. The distinct, angular, beak-like architecture of its upper levels was impossible to miss, perfectly reflecting Tony Stark's flamboyant and arrogant personality.
By the time Su Mu arrived at the plaza, night had fully fallen. He walked straight toward the main entrance, only to be immediately intercepted by a team of heavily armed corporate security guards.
"Good evening, sir," the lead guard said, placing a firm hand on Su Mu's chest. "Please present your identification and appointment credentials."
Su Mu naturally had neither. Knowing fully well they wouldn't just let him waltz in, he decided to try the honest approach anyway.
"I have urgent, life-or-death business to discuss with Tony Stark. I'd appreciate it if you went and notified him."
The guards paused, exchanging bewildered glances.
They wanted to laugh, but their elite professional training barely kept them in check. The captain of the guard suppressed a smirk and replied strictly, "Sir, today is not April Fool's. That isn't funny. Step away from the premises."
Having anticipated this exact response, Su Mu sighed in mild annoyance. He reached up, casually ruffling his stark white hair.
"Gentlemen, I assure you, it wasn't a joke."
Seeing that the intruder was refusing to leave, the guards' expressions hardened. They quickly reached for their stun batons, clearly categorizing him as a deranged stalker looking for trouble.
Just as Su Mu debated whether he should demonstrate a "little spatial anomaly" to persuade them, a sleek motorcade abruptly screeched to a halt at the curb behind him.
A slender, elegant woman stepped out of the lead vehicle first, immediately followed by several grim-faced men in dark suits.
They glanced briefly at the standoff at the entrance but paid it no mind. They moved with absolute, hurried purpose, bypassing the guards and marching straight into the tower lobby. They clearly had far more pressing matters at hand.
Su Mu instantly recognized the blonde woman in the sharp black pencil skirt.
Pepper Potts.
Ah, Su Mu thought, elegantly rubbing his chin with two fingers. It looks like my cue to play the 'hero saving the hero' is fast approaching!
He turned back to the security guards, who were now cautiously closing in on him. Slowly, deliberately, Su Mu lowered his round sunglasses down the bridge of his nose.
The guards froze instantly.
Staring into those breathtaking, crystalline blue eyes that seemed to practically glow with an ethereal light, the front-page news story they had all just watched violently resurfaced in their minds.
The White Demon!
In the split second before their consciousness faded, they watched the demon's lips curve into a brilliant, polite smile.
"My deepest apologies, gentlemen. Please take a short nap."
...
Meanwhile, Pepper Potts led the squad of SHIELD agents rapidly through the subterranean levels of Stark Tower.
After Agent Coulson utilized a micro-explosive to bypass the heavy biometric locks, the team infiltrated Sector 16.
Sector 16 was cavernous and dimly lit. Massive industrial machinery and heavy steel chains hung from the ceiling. Tucked away in a shadowed corner sat a colossal, crude suit of iron armor.
Staring at the towering metal monstrosity, Coulson turned to Pepper.
"It seems you were right. He's been building a suit of his own."
The team advanced cautiously. Pepper's attention was briefly drawn to a cluster of monitors scrolling with complex telemetry data. She stopped near a dense thicket of hanging chains, about to call out to Coulson, when...
BZZZT!
Suddenly, two massive, pale blue optical sensors flared to life in the pitch-black darkness directly in front of her!
"AHHHHH!"
A piercing scream shattered the silence of Sector 16.
Pepper turned and sprinted toward the exit. The colossal Iron Monger armor violently ripped itself free from its moorings, its massive metallic footsteps shaking the very foundation of the building as it gave chase.
Reacting purely on instinct, two SHIELD agents opened fire on the behemoth. The bullets sparked uselessly off the thick armor plating. In the blink of an eye, the Iron Monger swung its massive hydraulic arm, brutally crushing the agents into the concrete floor.
Within seconds, only Coulson and Pepper remained alive!
Pepper scrambled desperately through a narrow maintenance door. The Iron Monger lunged after her, but its colossal frame violently wedged into the reinforced concrete doorframe, temporarily trapping it.
Gasping for air, Pepper stumbled into the central power core chamber, intending to run past the colossal, building-sized Arc Reactor and escape.
But out of the corner of her eye, she caught a blinding flash of light!
A terrifying, torrential surge of pure, crackling white electricity was actively arcing out of the massive Arc Reactor! The dense web of high-voltage lightning—screaming like a thousand chirping birds—was violently wrapping itself around the figure of a breathtakingly handsome, white-haired man.
Bathing in a storm of electricity that would instantly incinerate an ordinary human to ash, the man was completely unharmed.
He had his arms spread wide, his head tilted back in pure, unadulterated ecstasy. His crystalline blue eyes glowed with absolute power.
"More..." the White Demon whispered, his voice vibrating with transcendental hunger. "Give me more!"
Witnessing this utterly impossible, god-like scene, Pepper Potts froze in her tracks, completely forgetting that a mechanical monster was trying to kill her.
