Chapter 23 - Chap.23 - Dark Spell Enhancer(Gold)

Bonus Chapter [3] - 180 Power Stones

As they drew closer, the adventure book appeared before Rigel again, a blank page opening as words quickly filled the yellowed paper.

[Congratulations writer, for discovering a legendary location, Isla de Muerta, and receiving the reward: Dark Spell Enhancer (Gold) -> Can enhance any spell to mastery, if it is not a Dark magic spell, the spell is converted to Dark magic, but the negative effects related to the writer during the use of the spell are negated.]

[To use it, you just need to cast your chosen spell while thinking about how to improve it.]

Rigel blinked, blinked again, the boat still not docked, but close enough to the island, it seemed, but he wasn't worried about that, instead he was excited about this improvement.

Especially this type of dark magic spell that loses its ability to corrupt him, for a moment he wished he had learned Fiend Fire, mastered it... but the enhancer only promised to nullify the negative effects, not total control over the spell. Besides, the spell will reach mastery level, but Fiend Fire will only get stronger over time, to the point where even that won't withstand it.

The fact that Fiend Fire is an uncontrollable living fire might be a negative effect, but it's not related to the fire itself.

It's different from, for example, casting the death curse and being corrupted by it to the point of becoming a murderous lunatic.

If it were Protego Diabolica, Rigel wouldn't hesitate to learn it for a second.

However, although Rigel could wait until later and try to learn a truly dangerous spell to use the enhancer, he really preferred to improve a spell now, after all he was about to face a horde of zombies.

Trying to deal with them using snakes and first-year spells seems a bit overkill, so he brought Jack and Will along with the crew.

Without the English(Royal Navy), they were at an even greater disadvantage.

Rigel took a deep breath and began to think about what spell he could update.

A petrification spell that could be as deadly as a basilisk's gaze?

A magic spell that could generate water but then transform it into acid?

He couldn't really know what he would receive, he could only guess, and in the end he was very confused for a moment.

Not knowing the outcome, he decided to try a different approach, the spell he knew was the most difficult.

Rigel's eyes lit up, he had an idea.

Pointing his wand into the air, while the pirates all took steps back in fright, Rigel pointed forward as he conjured. "Expecto... Patronum!"

As soon as the snowy mist reappeared, Rigel didn't hesitate, asking to use the spell enhancer.

The faint mist at the tip of his wand suddenly changed completely, the mist turned a bright green, just like the Killing Curse. The faint mist became a swirling vortex before merging into something new.

Rigel, on the other hand, was undergoing a major mental shift.

The Patronus Charm is not a simple spell, it was based on ancient magic and requires emotion. It used to use happiness, but now, as if in complete contrast, it uses sadness.

Rigel was remembering every sad scene he had experienced in two lives, one after the other, increasingly fueling his extreme sadness, but the feeling didn't last long. Just when Rigel had reached the peak of his emotion, to the point of wanting to kill himself to end the suffering, it all passed.

Rigel came to, he looked ahead, a little confused, staring at the misty green light snake, the size of an anaconda, with bewildered eyes.

The feeling that led to creating this spell was truly awful, but now he felt that even without that extreme sadness, he could use this spell as much as he wanted with maximum effect.

All the pirates took several steps back, some of the more frightened ones even screamed and fell to the ground, staring at the snake in shock.

Rigel, on the other hand, was curious about its effect. Pointing to the side, he summoned a snake. Immediately afterward, the Patronum Cobra lunged at the summoned snake and swallowed it.

Even after swallowing it, the snake was still clearly visible within the spirit, but Rigel's eyes soon widened slightly. The snake began to writhe in pain as its body seemed to melt, turning black and soon becoming just part of the spirit's energy.

Rigel swallowed hard, this thing is quite dangerous.

The conjuration spell has also changed, although with his current proficiency, this has become the first spell that he doesn't need an incantation to use.

His enchantment is Expecto Diabolus, unlike Expecto Patronum for protection, this one is completely focused on attack.

Rigel felt he could make the Expecto Diabolus shrink and grow, send messages, and find people just like a normal Patronus of mastery level could.

Rigel also realized that the snake he had summoned was no ordinary snake, it was a basilisk. This made him chuckle slightly, because he felt he was becoming more and more like a dark wizard.

Shaking his head and looking at the frightened crew, he spoke. "Come on! What are you waiting for!"

The group quickly began to move as the Expecto Diabolus rapidly faded, Rigel was eager to see the effect this would have on the zombies.
