The hallways of the university were quiet at this hour.
Jay sat in the library, working on the presentation for the case.
She kept rubbing her hands over her face. Her eyes dry, shutting every ten minutes.
But she refused to rest. She needed to win the case, even if it wasn't a real one.
As her eyes started to shut again, something made them snap back open.
An arm, around her shoulders, pulling her back against the chair.
She heard the faint crack of wood. The chair was breaking because of the force.
Keifer. She wanted to scream from incstinct. But couldn't. Why?
Because a warm hand clasped her mouth shut.
Her breathing uneven. Her nails clawed at the large arm. But it was useless.
The grip was too strong. Soon her eyes began to shut again.
The exhaustion from the case and the struggle pulling her deep.
Somewhere across campus. Keifer was making his way to the library.
His hair messy from all the mock exams he had to do.
He was on his way, to collect his fiancée, and take her home.
He was almost there…two more steps. The door swung open.
But Keifer didn't see Jay. He checked all the desks, all the aisles. But no Jay.
He began fiddling with his fingers. Pulling on his short sleeve.
He ran his hand through his hair. For the first time, in what seemed like forever.
The great Mark Keifer Watson…was scared.
He was terrified. This had happened before.
She was taken. From right beside him. The maze.
There she was lost. But here? She perfectly fine sitting under a safe roof.
But someone still took her. And Keifer? He hated himself for letting her go.
For letting anyone take her. For letting them even get close enough to her.
The restlessness fiancée ran back to his car. He started the engine and drove.
He didn't know where. But he just drove. His knuckles white from gripping the steering wheel.
When he reached the apartment building, section e and their friends were already there.
"Keif. Her last location that her phone shows is the uni library. It was most probably turned off"
Edrix said.
"THEN CHECK THE CAMERAS OR SOMTHING JUST FIND HER"
"Keif. Bro, calm down we'll find her" Rory said
"IT'S NOT THAT EASY TO CALM DOWN WHEN YOUR FIANCEE IS SOMWHERE OUT IN THE CITY IN THE HANDS OF AN UNKNOWN MAN"
"Keif. Bro, you need to see this"
Keifer walked over to laptop and what he saw made his blood boil.
He saw Jay get taken by Adrien through the camera. He saw Jay struggle to get free. He saw everything, but what made him angry is that he wasn't there to protect her.
Across town Jay was in a wherehouse, her hands tied behind her back. The rope was cutting into her skin.
Adrien was in front of her, his fingers holding her chin up, forcing her to look at him.
"It's such a pity to see such pretty face get bruised. You wouldn't have so many if you just listened."
"I don't love you, I never will, just let my go. Keifer will come for me, either way, do you want to die by his hands"
Just as Jay mentioned Keifer's name, Adrien's jaw tightened. He signaled to the guard, when the guard came he came back with someone.
At first Jay didn't recognize him, but then it clicked.
Kaizer Watson. Keifer's monster father.
When he entered, Jay felt the atmosphere in the room change. The air went cold.
All the comebacks and replies Jay had prepared for Adrien were gone. All that was left was fear.
Fear filled her from bottom to top, from head to toe.
Kaizer walked up to her. He grabbed her chin and tilted it upwards so he could look at her.
"So... you're the weakness my son has been keeping with him. I am not surprised. I heard your quite good at fighting. Let's put your skills to the test. Shall we?"
Jay didn't say anything, she couldn't. It was as if her mouth had been zipped shut.
Back in Jay and Keifer's apartment, Edrix had finally found a lead.
A wherehouse at the edge of the city.
Keifer was already moving.
His leather jacket was on, his car keys in his hand.
"Drix, you're with me in my car. The rest of you, follow as back up."
And then he left. He drove. He drove like a mad man, because right now, he was.
He was mad, not at Jay. Never at Jay. Not even at Adrien.
But he was mad at himself. He was mad that he wasn't there to protect her, that he wasn't there to stop her struggle.
When he arrived at the where house, Keifer didn't waste another second. He got out before anybody else arrived. He told Edrix to stay in the car and give the others updates and to him.
He walked in to see Jay on the floor, two hitmen standing over her, torturing her, hitting her. And in the corner... Kaizer Watson and Adrien.
seeing them was the least of his worries. All he saw was Jay on the floor getting tortured by two men and his monster father and his fellow classmate laughing at her.
"Kei...fer-" Jay chocked out.
Keifer didn't say anything, he just moved. He moved fast, furious.
He was beside Jay in seconds, the two hitmen groaning on the floor.
He hadn't noticed that Kaizer and Adrien had stopped laughing. All his cared about was the girl in his arms. Jay.
Jay looked up at him, her red rimmed eyes welling up with tears again.
"I am sorry-" she choked out before she went completely limp in Keifer's arms.
"JAY" he screamed
He was halfway standing when hard metal hit the back of his head.
He felt dizzy. His vision started to blur.
No. Not now, not now of all times.
He thought. He needed to me strong. For Jay. For him.
He needed to show his father and prove to him that he was not as weak as he thought he was.
And with that. Everything went black.

Guysss. Thank you soo much for reading. I know i haven't been uploading much but please understand i need breaks for my mental health. I have decided that i will try and upload every other day now because my summer break is starting in another two weeks. so then i will have more time. but please understand. i will try and upload the other book everyday but this one i might not upload that often until my summer break. but please i want you to know that i am not abandoning these books i just need so time for myself as well.
anyways. SPOILER~ next chapter i will do Keifer waking up but jay doesn't and section e arrives. please give me ideas for why Jay doesn't wake up and that should the girls be there as well. Also disclaimer, i will not be writing 18+ chapter cuz i am myself not 18 and that i have ppl who are younger reading and cuz i really just don't want to. so i am so sorry if any of you guys wanted those type of chapters.
