The last day of school arrived, passing faster than expected. I walked my usual route, headphones on, lost in thoughts of what was next.
"Is this the last time I'll ever see her?"
But my thoughts were interrupted as I arrived. Everyone was there, gathered in small groups. I chose to sit next to Adam and Nikole, waiting for the teacher. We talked about fantasy books, something lighthearted.
Then the teacher arrived and led us into class. We were split into small groups, talking about studies, different schools, and what the future might hold.
I stepped outside the classroom for some air. My heart was in brutal pain, and my head felt chaotic.
This was no longer a loop—it had become a neverending war.
Neither side was winning.
Neither side was willing to surrender.
Suddenly, the darkness swallowed the sky. My body shivered.
_Is this the abyss?_
A voice whispered:
"Yes. Indeed, there is nothing but you and your heart. There is no coming back. Choose wisely—this will change your life forever."
I reentered the classroom like nothing happened and stayed there until the end of class.
We walked halfway home, and then, out of nowhere, an immense wave of pain struck me.
I started running.
Adam and Nikole called out, trying to stop me—but it was too late.
A car hit me.
I flew through the air, weightless.
_"Is this really the end?"_
Everyone stood in disbelief. Adam rushed toward me, with tears in his eyes.
With the last of my strength, I tried to whispere
"No… not like this."
"You told me you would reach your dreams…" Adam said with misty eyes.
And with my last breath I said:
"Don't worry. I am free now."
"Don't cry for someone who's already dead. There's a future ahead of you."
"Thank you for loving me."
I opened my eyes.
A white space surrounded me.
A divine spirit approached, taking the form of a girl, wearing heavenly clothing—a sight beyond description.
Her face was familiar.
She spoke with a soft voice:
"Welcome back . I hope you're doing well, my old friend."
I was mesmerized.
"Who are you? Where am I?"
She responded, with sadness in her eyes:
"I see. The accident erased part of your memory. For now, call me 356. And we are inside the world you built—a world of your own, where you come to think about everything that has happened to you."
"But now… I think you no longer need it."
I hesitated.
"You still didn't tell me who you are."
356 smiled.
"For that, we need to enter your mind."
"My what???"
"Just close your eyes."
Suddenly, we were inside my mind.
Two holograms stood before us.
The first was standing—its brain visible, with four tubes hanging down from it.
The second was chained to the ground—its heart exposed, four tubes rising from it.
356 spoke:
"That is your heart, chained down by chain of thoughts . He provides all your emotions."
"And that is your ego, standing over him. They were once one entity, but separated long ago."
"I… am a part of your soul, created to protect you and to make you feel loved.Or in better words I am here to protect you , and give you a glimmer of hope for the future"
I stared, confused.
"Hope? What does that even mean? And why are they separated?"
356 sighed.
"It's a long story. But I can tell you this: You love someone. And because of that, they split apart—to start a never-ending war because of a long debate between them."
I swallowed hard.
"Who is she?"
"Does she love me? Or has she already rejected me?"
356 lowered her gaze.
"We simply don't know."
"When you confessed, she gave you a cold shoulder, that was about to turn off your flame, but you somehow managed to hold on to it."
"She never showed interest in you.So you can say a -0.1% hope "
I laughed bitterly.
"So I'm loving someone who doesn't love me back?"
"Yes."
356 gestured toward the heart.
"Look closer. Do you see it?"
A small flame flickered in the center.
"That… is the eternal Flame."
"It was reignited on the 19th of September, 2022, at 10:33 a.m., for a girl named Sofia."
"And that's why we believe it is why you loved her."
"We don't know why. The only thing we know… is that it cannot be extinguished."
I clenched my fists.
"this is simply unbelievable ."
The world turned to darkness.
Everything was gone and consumed by the abyss.
I woke up to real-life where I found everyone waiting for me, happy that I am still alive, the doctor informed them that I had hit my head hard, and I could lose my memory. Fortunately I remember Adam, and after a lot of tries we finally concluded that I lost my memory from 19th of September 2022.
