Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

Episode 20: No More Fear

The forest was silent.

Not peaceful.

But afraid.

Marcus stood in the pit, his sword still in his hand.

Elara's body lay behind him.

Still.

Cold.

The creature watched from above, its wide smile stretching unnaturally.

"Your pain… is beautiful," it whispered.

Marcus slowly looked up.

Tears were still on his face.

But his eyes…

Had changed.

"I was afraid before," he said quietly.

His voice was calm.

Too calm.

He stepped forward.

"I was running… fighting… trying to survive…"

The creature tilted its head, watching him closely.

"But now…"

Marcus gripped his sword tighter.

"I have nothing left to lose."

Silence.

Even the forest seemed to listen.

The creature dropped down into the pit.

Slow.

Confident.

"Good…"

It stepped closer.

"Then show me… what you are."

Marcus didn't wait.

He moved first.

Faster than ever before.

He swung his sword with full force.

This time—

The blade didn't pass through.

It HIT.

The creature jerked back slightly.

For the first time—

It reacted.

Marcus's eyes widened for a second.

"It can be hurt…" he whispered.

The creature's smile faded… just a little.

"Interesting…"

Then it attacked.

Faster than before.

Stronger.

Deadlier.

But Marcus didn't step back.

He fought forward.

Every strike was sharp.

Every movement focused.

No fear.

No hesitation.

The creature slashed at him—

He dodged.

It lunged—

He blocked.

It vanished—

He turned instantly.

"You can't scare me anymore!" Marcus shouted.

"I've already lost everything!"

The forest shook.

The shadows moved wildly.

The creature attacked from behind—

Marcus turned and struck it across the chest.

A dark sound came from it.

Not pain…

But something close.

"You are changing…"

Marcus stepped closer.

"So are you…"

For the first time—

The creature took a step back.

Marcus raised his sword again.

His voice was cold now.

"I'm not your prey anymore."

Silence filled the pit.

Then the creature smiled again…

But this time…

It felt different.

"Good…"

It began to fade into the shadows.

Marcus frowned.

"Running?"

Its voice echoed as it disappeared.

"No…"

"I am leading you… to the truth."

The forest shifted.

The ground beneath Marcus opened slowly—

Revealing a deeper path.

Darker.

Colder.

Marcus looked back…

At Elara.

His chest tightened.

But his face stayed strong.

"I will finish this…" he said softly.

"For you."

He turned…

And stepped into the darkness.

Behind him—

The forest whispered one last time:

"Welcome… to the true heart."
