Chapter 1 - This Can't Be That Bad... Right?

Higher Value International School — HVIS.What a fancy name… my new school.

I stood at the entrance, taking a deep breath.

Excited. Nervous.Maybe a little bit of both.

Let's see how I survive this.

As soon as I stepped inside, my eyes widened.

Oh my god…

Everyone here looked ridiculously rich. The campus was huge—clean, polished, almost glowing under the morning light.

A date this early? Okay… can't complain.

The campus was actually beautiful.Huge… way bigger than my old school.

Honestly, it felt more like a mall than a school.

And yeah… I couldn't help it—

I wish they were here.

Ryan. Rhea.

I miss them so much.

"Ugh, I can't live without those two idiots," I whispered under my breath.

This was my cousin Aries's school. And now, unfortunately… mine too.

Transferred from Holy—

…yeah, let's not talk about that.

Let's just say my record isn't exactly… impressive.

But I promised Kuya Angelo. And Lola.

No trouble.

Not that I go looking for it—trouble just has a habit of finding me.

I walked toward the reception.

"Excuse me, can you tell me where this section is?" I asked, showing my registration.

"Section E."

The girl behind the desk looked at me like I was something unpleasant stuck to her shoe.

Wow. Rude.

I rolled my eyes.

"How bad can it be?" I muttered.

I turned to the guy standing next to her.

"Can you tell me where it is?"

"At the back," he said casually.

That's it.

No explanation. No directions.

Great.

As I walked, I reminded myself:

Remember your promise, Jay.No trouble… even if they deserve it.

Okay… now I get why I was transferred.

Mischief. Chaos.And yeah… that incident.

Lola's heart attack.Kuya Angelo was furious.

So here I am. New school. New start.

With a cousin who—

…hates me.

I don't even know when things changed.

We used to be close.

Now?

I don't even recognize him.

"Okay, Jay," I muttered softly. "Stay positive. You can do this."

I looked ahead—

—and immediately regretted it.

This building…

This is Section E?

The paint was peeling.Trash everywhere. It looked like it had been abandoned years ago.

"Wow… even a ghost wouldn't want to live here."

How am I supposed to survive a whole year?

"Okay, calm down. You did this to yourself."

No more complaining.

Just go inside.

As I stepped in, I spotted a group of boys.

They were just standing there… like they walked straight out of some cheap K-drama.

Annoyingly good-looking.

I hate that.

"Excuse me? Hello?" I called out.

No response.

"Wow… are they deaf or just rude?" I muttered.

Finally, one of them turned.

Tall. Messy hair. A lollipop in his mouth.A red leather jacket hanging effortlessly on him.

And a stare that could probably freeze someone on the spot.

Keifer's POV

A new student?

His gaze settled on her.

Aries's cousin.

This didn't fit the description.

Too composed. Too calm.

Not what he expected.

His fingers tapped lightly against the lollipop stick.

Aries didn't hate people without a reason.

He hadn't said anything yet—but the way he avoided her, the way he left…

That was enough.

They'd already dealt with enough because of one girl.

He wasn't letting that happen again.

If she was a problem—

he'd make sure she didn't last here.

Let's see how long she lasts in Section E.

JAY JAY's POV

"Excuse me, excuse me… is this Section E?"

"What?" he said flatly.

I blinked. "Uh… is this Section E?"

"No," he replied immediately. "Leave. Go back to the main building."

His tone? Cold. Sharp. Authoritative.

Honestly… a little scary.

"Oh—okay, but the guy at the reception said—"

"Are you deaf?" he cut in. "I said leave."

Wow.

I turned around slowly.

And just as I started walking away—

I heard it.

Laughter.

I froze for a second.

They're laughing.

Definitely at me.

I clenched my jaw, forcing myself to keep walking.

No reactions.

No fights.

No trouble.

Remember your promise, Jay.No trouble… even if they deserve it.
