Chapter 1 - THE NIGHT OF LIGHT AND LIES

The kingdom of Valmore was known as a land blessed by fate itself.

Its fields were endlessly green, its rivers clear as crystal, and its people lived in peace under the rule of a kind and generous king. Laughter filled the streets, and hope lived in every home.

At the heart of it all stood the royal palace—where the king and queen ruled not with fear, but with love.

And on one fateful night…

their happiness was meant to grow.

The skies darkened without warning.

A violent storm tore through the kingdom, winds howling like a warning no one could understand. Thunder cracked across the heavens, and the once peaceful Valmore fell into an uneasy silence.

Inside the palace, the tension was suffocating.

The queen was in labor.

Her cries echoed through the royal chambers as servants rushed, their hands trembling, their prayers whispered in fear. The king stood beside her, gripping her hand tightly, refusing to leave her side.

"Stay with me," he whispered, his voice breaking.

Outside, the storm only grew stronger.

As if the world itself was waiting.

And then—

A cry.

Soft. Fragile. Alive.

The child was born.

At that very moment, the storm… stopped.

The winds fell silent.

The thunder faded.

Even the darkness seemed to retreat.

A faint glow filled the chamber.

The newborn princess lay in her mother's arms, her tiny body radiating a soft, unnatural light—like a star fallen into the world.

For a brief second… no one spoke.

"It's a miracle…" one of the attendants whispered.

But the king did not smile.

Because he saw it.

Something within the child.

Something… not ordinary.

Only the royal bloodline knew the truth.

A power, ancient and dangerous, passed down through generations—awakening only when the heir came of age.

A power that could protect the kingdom…

or destroy it.

And now—

it lived within her.

Before another word could be spoken—

The doors burst open.

Guards shouted. Steel clashed.

Chaos erupted.

He had come.

The king's own brother.

A man once trusted… now consumed by betrayal.

Behind him stood soldiers not of Valmore—enemies who had long waited for this moment.

"Brother…" the king stepped forward, disbelief in his voice.

"You would bring war into your own home?"

The man's lips curved into a cold smile.

"This was never your home alone."

Everything happened too fast.

The clash of swords.

The cries of the guards.

The queen's weak voice calling out.

The king fought with everything he had—but betrayal cuts deeper than any blade.

And in the end—

he fell.

The queen, still weak from childbirth, could do nothing but hold her child close as the world around her shattered.

Tears streamed down her face as footsteps approached.

The brother stood before her.

For a moment, his gaze lingered on the glowing child.

Something flickered in his eyes.

Not mercy.

Fear.

"This child…" he murmured.

"…will be a problem."

The queen's grip tightened.

"Please…" she whispered, her voice breaking. "She is innocent…"

Silence followed.

Cold.

Final.

That night—

the king died.

The queen died.

And the truth died with them.

By morning, the storm was gone.

The kingdom of Valmore woke to a tragedy.

The queen, they said, had died after giving birth.

The king, unable to bear the loss, had fallen to illness soon after.

And the throne… passed quietly to his grieving brother.

No one questioned it.

No one knew.

And the child—

the princess born of light in the darkest night—

lived on.

Unaware of the blood that crowned her.

Unaware of the power sleeping within her.

Unaware…

that her entire life had begun with a lie.
