Jacob was inside the kitchen right now, quietly preparing food for Damon while the rest of the pack house slowly settled into the calmness of the late afternoon. As everyone's starting to get lazy after a long day.
The kitchen smelled warm and comforting, filled with the aroma of soup simmering over low heat and freshly cooked rice. Sunlight streamed through the wide windows, casting soft golden rays across the counters and tiled floor.
Jacob hummed a song as he moved naturally around the kitchen as he prepared everything carefully, like a skillful chef. Over the past week, cooking for Damon had somehow become part of his daily routine. At first, he only did it out of responsibility, because Damon barely took proper care of himself whenever he buried himself in work.
But now…
Jacob no longer knew if it was simply responsibility.
His hands paused briefly while slicing vegetables before he quickly pushed the thought away.
