After hours had passed, Jacob headed toward the Luna's chamber while carrying a tray filled with sliced fruits and a glass of juice for her.
When he finally stopped in front of the door, he carefully balanced the tray with one hand before knocking softly.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
After the third knock, Jacob slowly opened the door and quietly stepped inside before closing it behind him.
As soon as he turned around, the familiar sight greeted him once again.
Luna Elisabeth was sitting silently on the rocking chair near the veranda, her empty eyes staring toward the closed glass door. Thick curtains covered most of the sunlight outside, leaving only a small opening where faint golden light slipped through the room.
The entire chamber still felt lifeless.
Cold.
Silent.
Like time had completely stopped there years ago.
