Chapter 1 - Mirai Legacy – Prologue

Volume 1

Chapter 0 – Keiji (The Revelation)

No one knows where it came from… or why it happened.

There were no warnings. No omens. Not a single sign that the world was about to change forever.

It was just another ordinary day.

On one side, the sun was rising. On the other, night had already grown thick and dark.

Some were working. Others were enjoying their day. Many were asleep.

And yet — the sky lit up.

Suddenly.

This was no ordinary light.

It was an absolute flash — divine — as if a thousand suns had merged into one, as if a gaze from the heavens had awakened.

A radiant presence so intense it pierced through walls, closed eyes… even sunglasses.

There was no escape.

The light reached every living being on Earth.

Anyone who tried to resist felt an overwhelming pull — like the body's desperate need for air.

For exactly seven minutes, the entire world was suspended between fear and awe.

People in the streets, on planes, in temples and hospitals — everyone stopped.

Those who were asleep woke up, as if the light had dragged their subconscious to the surface.

Seven minutes.

And then… collapse.

In a single instant, as if commanded by an unseen force, all of humanity lost consciousness.

Bodies fell on sidewalks, tumbled down stairs, slumped against seats… or simply went still.

Countless accidents followed.

The planet fell asleep.

Completely.

At the same time.

For an entire day, there was no sound. No movement.

Only the lingering echo of the light burned into memory.

When people woke up, confusion spread.

Was it a dream? An attack? A shared hallucination?

At first, nothing seemed different.

They were in the same place. The sky looked normal again.

But something wasn't right.

Something inside them had changed.

In the days that followed, reports began to surface.

At first isolated… then everywhere.

Loss of vision. Distorted perception of color.

For the first time in a long while, doctors had no answers.

They panicked.

Blindness spread like a silent virus.

The world lost its color.

Soon, the truth became undeniable:

90% of the global population lost their sight.

7% retained their vision… but the world no longer looked the same.

And the remaining 3%…

The strangest cases of all.

Their bodies radiated energy.

Their vision had been… illuminated.

They would come to be known as Visionaries.

It was as if their retinas had been rewritten.

As if their eyes had evolved.

No one knew why. No one could control it.

Was it a blessing… or a curse?

What was certain was this:

The world we once knew — a world advancing at incredible speed — collapsed into chaos.

Everything changed.

Humanity had no choice but to adapt.

Rumors spread. Theories emerged. Cults were formed.

Many died. Many disappeared.

Secret groups began to rise.

Governments tried to respond… but failed.

Everything was too sudden. Too unpredictable. Impossible to control.

And so, between fear and mystery, a new era was born:

The era of those who were illuminated…

And those who were consumed by darkness.

Keiji.

Chapter 0.5 – The Awakening of Mirai

Mōmoku no Jidai — The Blind Era

Year 2110.

Despite its technological advancements, the world stumbled through the ashes of what remained of humanity.

With 90% of the population blinded — not by disease, but by an unexplained phenomenon — progress came to a halt.

For twenty years, humanity did nothing but survive… and adapt.

Death rates soared. Countless people vanished.

Groups and cults formed everywhere.

There was no guidance. No stable governments.

The world had become pure chaos.

In the forty years that followed, wars erupted.

This period became known as The Era of Ascending Wars.

Cities turned into battlefields.

Deaths skyrocketed.

The law of the strongest prevailed.

From the ruins, five major governments emerged — one for each continent:

BorealisNova ImperiaJinhaiZawadiSolstium

And in the midst of this darkness, a group of explorers appeared.

They were known as Yǎnkōng Shíhuì, led by Longyan Zhen.

Among the ten members, one stood out:

Haneul — the youngest… and the most promising.

Hidden from the world, they searched for answers.

They followed clues and theories about Keiji — what caused it, and the source of the energy sensed by Lera.

A completely blind young woman…

Yet capable of perceiving forces no one else could.

For her entire life, Lera had felt a distant energy —

Terrifying. Disturbing…

And irresistibly compelling.

After countless journeys and failed attempts…

They finally reached the epicenter:

Mirai Island.

They named it that because they believed it was directly tied to the Keiji phenomenon…

And that one day, they would have to return.

It was invisible to the naked eye.

Untouchable from the sky.

Protected by a transparent dome that could not be crossed.

Sailors spoke of an invisible wall that had destroyed countless ships.

But not theirs.

The moment they arrived, Lera began to tremble.

Dizziness. Weakness.

She nearly collapsed.

They knew.

This was the place.

Longyan Zhen didn't hesitate. He ordered the exploration to continue.

Using smaller submersible boats, they descended into the depths of the ocean.

Near the barrier, they found massive rocks glowing with multicolored light.

And among them…

Five smaller stones, radiating intense energy:

Yellow.Blue.Red.Black.White.

These would later be called the Primordial Stones.

The larger, less pure stones would be used by Haneul's leader…

To forge the Ten Supreme Relics — and fragmented into smaller pieces.

A decision that would shape the future of the world…

And ignite the struggle for power.

Once all the stones were collected and the explorers began to leave…

The impossible happened.

The island revealed itself.

The dome became visible.

Five beams of light descended from the sky.

The stones rose — as if alive — and tore open cracks around the dome.

The island's surface darkened…

Turning into a dense, black mass.

And then—

In a single instant—

The Primordial Stones shot across the sky like meteors…

Each flying in a different direction.

As if each had been sent to a different continent.

They vanished.

Never seen again.

Rumors spread that each one had created a dungeon… to protect itself.

Realizing they had been followed by factions of the major governments…

Haneul's group fled the island with the remaining stones.

Yǎnkōng Shíhuì became infamous.

Every member was hunted.

One by one, they were captured.

And their leader, Longyan Zhen, was executed live in a public square—

After confessing to using the energy stones to create the Ten Supreme Relics:

Artifacts of immeasurable power.

Forbidden to use.

Only one remained.

Haneul.

He escaped.

And disappeared into the shadows.

The remaining stones were divided across the continents—

Some held by governments.

Others lost… or in the hands of independent groups and Visionaries.

As for the Ten Relics…

They remain a mystery.

Not even Haneul knows where they are…

Or how they truly work.

And so began a new cycle:

Of conflict.

Of greed.

And of legends.
