Chapter 1 - Episode 1– The Yarnpocalypse

The quaint little fantasy town that looked like it had been attacked by the world's most aggressive knitting project.

Yarn was everywhere.

Red, blue, pink, and green strands all different colors hung from rooftops, wrapped around wooden signs, and tangled through tree branches. Huge piles rolled across the cobblestone streets like colorful tumbleweeds. It looked less like a town and more like someone had detonated a magical yarn factory in the middle of it.

Standing outside a small cottage shaped like a wizard's hat was a very tired wizard.

He had a long white beard, a blue robe with a yellow crescent moon on his chest, and a crooked starry hat that looked like it had seen better centuries. Red yarn was wrapped around his boots like stubborn spaghetti.

His large circular eyes narrowed into a grumpy stare, his overbite mouth locked into full irritation.

He sighed.

Then he pushed open the door.

Inside his cottage that he lived in, the wizard stepped in and immediately stopped.

He folded his arms, still wearing the same grumpy expression.

"Mr. Whiskers," the wizard said slowly, "why on earth is the whole town covered in yarn?"

Sitting across the room was a black cat.

Mr. Whiskers. He was a trouble maker.

His green eyes were wide, and he sat perfectly still. His tail rested flat against the floor. His expression looked… disappointed.

"Meow," Mr. Whiskers replied.

The wizard stepped farther inside, shutting the door behind him. He leaned slightly forward, staring down at the cat with an irritated look.

"Practicing magic without my permission!" the wizard snapped. "Thanks to you, we now have to clean this mess up."

He stood up straight again and continued.

"The whole townsfolk aren't really happy with you, Mr. Whiskers."

Mr. Whiskers' disappointed expression slowly turned grumpy. His ears tilted back slightly, and he rolled his eyes.

"Meow," he said again.

Moments later, the wizard and whiskers stepped outside of the cottage in

The middle of the street was filled with townsfolk.

Pointy-eared elves, stout dwarves, and regular humans all stood together, staring.

Their arms were crossed. Yarn stuck to their clothes. Their faces were filled with irritation. They clearly weren't happy with Mr. Whiskers, who was known for causing plenty of problems around town.

The wizard looked at them… then down at his cat. "See, Mr. Whiskers?" he said. "The town is not happy with the mess you've made. Now we are going to clean this the old-fashioned way."

He hands his cat a broom and trash bag.

Mr. Whiskers responded with a sarcastic little sound.

"Meow."

The wizard squinted at him.

Thanks to magic, he understood exactly what his cat meant.

"Don't you start, Mr. Whiskers!" the wizard barked. "No! We are not going to use magic to clean this mess up."

He gestured toward the annoyed crowd.

"You already caused enough problems with these townsfolk."

Then he continued his small rant.

"Magic doesn't fix all of your problems. Magic is used to help people… not cause problems."

Cleaning began shortly after.

The wizard swept massive piles of yarn into even larger piles.

Mr. Whiskers batted at loose strands of thread, occasionally helping… but mostly making things worse.

At one point they both dragged a giant yarn ball down the street while the townsfolk watched with crossed arms.

The wizard finally stopped.

He leaned on his broom and sighed deeply.

"This is going to take weeks…" he muttered.

Then he looked at the mountain of yarn around them.

"Maybe months."

The wizard and his trouble-making cat stood knee-deep in colorful chaos.

The wizard looked completely defeated.

Mr. Whiskers still looked grumpy.

And the town… was still very, very covered in yarn.
