Chapter 31: A Mother's Anger
Rin turned the door handle, but the door did not open.
She tried the handle again and realized that the door was locked from the inside.
The worry on Rin's face deepened.
She immediately knocked hard on the door and called out in a loud voice,
"Obito! Open the door! I want to see my son!"
Her voice was filled with anxiety and fear.
Obito and Wang, who were inside, were both startled.
Obito stared at the door for a few moments. He had thought that Rin would remain unconscious for a while longer, but he had never imagined that she would wake up so soon.
Obito looked at Wang and said quietly,
"Wang, go and open the door."
Wang nodded and walked toward the door.
As soon as the door opened, Rin's eyes immediately fell on Wang.
The moment she saw her son standing in front of her, Rin pulled him into her arms.
Tears began to flow from her eyes.
"Wang... Are you alright?"
Wang tried to reassure his mother.
"Mom, I'm completely fine. Please don't worry."
But suddenly, Rin's eyes fell on Wang's palm.
There was a small cut on it.
The tears in Rin's eyes began to flow even faster.
She immediately released Wang and turned toward Obito. Her voice was filled with anger and pain.
"Why did you do this?!"
Obito remained silent.
Rin's voice trembled as she continued,
"You told me that you had thought of a method that wouldn't cause Wang any pain. Were you lying to me?"
Her eyes were filled with anger, but beneath that anger was a mother's deep concern for her son.
"He is your son too, Obito! How could you hurt him?"
Wang immediately took his mother's hand.
"Mom, listen to me."
Rin looked at Wang.
Wang raised his injured palm in front of her and said,
"Look. It's not bleeding, and I don't feel any pain either."
Rin silently stared at his palm.
Wang continued,
"I learned how to stop the bleeding using my inner air. And Dad used his power to suppress my sense of pain for a while. So please don't worry."
Then Wang looked into his mother's eyes and gently said,
"Mom, please don't cry. I'm completely fine. And please don't be too angry with Dad either."
Rin gave no answer.
She simply took Wang's uninjured hand.
"Come with me."
She led Wang toward the Medical Room of the Lab.
Obito remained standing where he was, silently watching them walk away.
Rin did not look back at him even once.
At that moment, there was only one thing in her heart—protecting her son.
And toward Obito, she felt nothing but intense anger.
