Chapter 1 - A New Beginning

Okay, it's a cloudy Friday evening.

"Damn! Today was as stressful as I imagined it."

It's one of the reasons I hate working as a reporter in a well recognized media house, the expectations and work ethic is usually out of the ordinary, especially on Fridays. I had to visit a village in an African country, had to fake jovial personality, had to act thrilled by a culture I don't really care about and had to interview them so I can get their overly believed superstitious reasons on why they have seven times more women than men in the Land.

Reporting aside, I was intrigued when I heard such a place existed in the world. I've heard a lot of stories, seen fantasies that states something similar, but I haven't come across a place like this in reality. So, in my quest to satisfy my curiosity, I ended up encountering disappointment. If you're curious to know why, it's because the people I've met here are not women but females. That all lack the feminine charm that makes a woman. Don't know if it's because of how incompetent and deadbeat the men here are, but all females I've met here tend to act, sound and work more like a man than a woman. Some already have muscles that would rival a male body builder while others already have voices similar to a bass singer in a Catholic Church. Well... there's no need to narrate how the flame of passion burning within me was quenched.

Of course, with an expression full of anticipation and cheerfulness on my face — even though its purpose was to deceive. I focused on my job, remembered how good the pay was and used it as a source of motivation to start and finalize my task.

Luckily for me, today's not going to be all bad, in fact, I believe today is also going to be one of my best days this year because Invincible 3 was released earlier today. I already got the tickets days before so I'm more than prepared for uninterrupted entertainment this evening. Only it might not be as uninterrupted as I had hoped due to the insistence of my girlfriend to come along. That girl never let me have some alone time and doesn't even let me fully enjoy my time with her! With an obvious sigh and a clearly tired smile on my face I walked out of my office.

"Ohh... not again."

I breathed out these words on getting outside my office.

Seated beside the security lady was a light skinned woman who looked her mid-twenties with long black hair and dark eyes, wearing a slightly fitted blue gown that stretches all the way to her knees accompanied by a pair of black heels that obviously look uncomfortable to walk in and carrying a blue hand bag to match. She wasn't among the most beautiful women a man could meet but she was beautiful enough to catch a man's attention. She has a presence that screamed elegance and a sitting posture that echoes refinement.

'Damn! She's classy.'

I always find myself saying these words whenever I see her in a public setting.

But then, as I approached her, a wave of panic overtook me as I remembered why I hesitated when I initially saw her. With a confident smile that hid the uncertainty I felt within, I approached her.

"How long have you been waiting?"

She turned her head towards me, glanced at me and turned her head back to her newly acquired iPhone.

"I've been waiting for a while."

"Well... I've told you to call me whenever you're around or come meet me in my office. You know my office is big enough for you to not just sit, but also lie down and rest."

With a displeased look on her face, she once again glanced at me.

"That is exactly why I waited here."

Anna turned to her side, opened her bag and placed her phone in it. Turning back towards me, she stared for some time before standing up and taking a step towards me.

"We both know what happens every time I enter your office, and it seems I care about your job more than you do, because if you did, you would have stopped me from coming here a long time ago."

Confusion was written all over my face for a second or two before it dawned on me. With an understanding smile I stared at her.

"Well... you know it's almost impossible for me to resist you whenever we're alone."

"Impossible to resist?" With a slight frown on her face, she stared at me and continued.

"You say that but at the same time, you ramble about a country with less women and how well you will be appreciated there."

'Damn! I knew she would say this.'

"Let's forget what I said in the past. I was ignorant."

"OOOhhh, now it's the past. Well I'm forgetting nothing because I clearly remember you talking about getting two wives from there."

'I really said a lot. One of those women is certainly enough to completely dominate and bully me if I ever marry her. If I can't survive one how will I survive two? Two is going to be complete chaos! Oh Lord, what was I thinking. I need to make sure she forgets this.'

Walking towards my car with hastened footsteps I turned towards her.

"Time is no longer on our side. Are you coming or not?"

Anna rolled her eyes, made a long sigh, rearranged her dress and followed behind me.

"If I wasn't coming I won't be waiting here in the first place." She then hissed loudly and glared at me. "Stop walking so fast! You know these heels are uncomfortable to walk in."

"Well you picked them yourself. I told you no normal human is supposed to walk in those."

"I said, wait up Aaron!" Anna snapped.

I stopped walking hastily and waited for her to catch up while I chuckled to myself.

'At least, she's no longer talking about muscular women.'
