In a universe consisting of thousands of galaxies, each with its own unique magic system and technology, a primordial resource called "Evil Steel" has become the center of conflict. This miraculous metal harbors souls of dark power and can alter the fate of entire civilizations. Each galaxy has developed its own way to master it: the Xuanlong Galaxy uses ancient magic that merges with cosmic energy, the Gwanghae Galaxy relies on a combat system based on traditional skills, the Aethelgard Galaxy employs advanced technology integrated with a game system, and the Valerius Galaxy follows a magical order that controls cosmic fortresses. Intergalactic war erupts when an evil organization named the "Void Legion" begins destroying all civilizations that block access to Evil Steel, aiming to unite all these resources to create a weapon capable of destroying the universe. Kim Seokjin is a strategic expert from the Gwanghae Galaxy. He suddenly gains the "System of Steel," which functions like a game. It allows leveling up, unlocking skill trees, collecting loot, and mastering various magical abilities and technologies from across all galaxies. With a constantly evolving system and growing access to Evil Steel, Seokjin must travel to different galaxies, form temporary alliances, sow discord among enemies, and master the power of beings to stop the Void Legion while also hiding his true intentions that only he knows

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : The Steel Awakens

The cold cosmos stretches endlessly in all directions, a dense black canvas adorned with glowing pinpricks of light distant suns and swirling spirals marking the edges of other galaxies. Cutting through this vast emptiness is the Hwaryeong, a reconnaissance vessel of the Gwanghae Sovereignty Fleet, its hull polished to a mirror-sheen that reflects the faint light of the asteroid belt it is passing through. At 237 meters long, the ship is small by military standards, yet designed for speed and stealth rather than heavy combat perfectly suited for its current mission.

Inside the command bridge, the soft hum of plasma engines mingles with the quiet beeping of monitoring equipment, creating a steady rhythm that has become like a heartbeat for the crew. Kim Seokjin stands before the viewport, his hands clasped behind his back, his dark eyes fixed on the stream of asteroids drifting past outside. Even through reinforced transparisteel, he can feel the cold of space enveloping the ship a reminder of how fragile their existence is here, so far from the warm light of Gwanghae's primary star, Haneul. His jaw tightens as a small asteroid strikes the hull, an inaudible impact felt only as a subtle vibration traveling up his spine.

"Alpha Recon Team reports their sector is clear, Sir," says Lieutenant Park Minji from her station at the sensor array, her fingers dancing across holographic controls that float in the air like webs of blue light. Her black hair is neatly pinned under her duty cap, though a few strands have escaped to stick to her slightly perspiring forehead even with the ship's cooling systems working perfectly, mission pressure always finds a way to unbalance the human body. "No signs of Void Legion activity, just standard debris fields from old mining operations. Some ancient mining structures remain in Sector 45, but all appear non-functional and there are no life signs within a hundred thousand kilometers."

Seokjin does not turn around. His eyes remain fixed on the asteroid pattern, moving like an endless river of rock and ice. "What about energy readings from Sector 47?" His voice comes from behind Minji's shoulder a voice he has trained for two decades to show no uncertainty, even as his chest feels his heart beat a little faster each time he mentions that sector.

Minji bows her head to her screen, sliding several holographic sliders with movements that are precise yet carry hidden unease. "Still fluctuating, but stable at magnitude 9.7. We've cross-referenced it with every known resource in Gwanghae's database from stellar fusion reactors to old Void Legion war zone energy fields. Nothing matches. It's like something we've never seen before." She pauses for a moment, then adds in a quieter tone, "Space-time field readings show microscopic distortions that don't align with any physics model taught at the Gwanghae Air Force Academy. It's as if the space there is breathing."

Finally, he shifts his gaze from the viewport to the main display screen, where a pulsing purple symbol glows against the backdrop of a slowly rotating three-dimensional star map. The energy signature moves and writhes like a living thing, creating ripples across the surrounding space-time continuum that appear as subtle warps in the astronomical coordinate lines. For the last three standard cycles equivalent to eighty-one days on Haneul's surface this anomaly has appeared and vanished around the outer rim of their galaxy, always just out of reach of patrol ships and exploration teams. Until today, when the Hwaryeong's next-generation sensors managed to lock onto its location right in the middle of the asteroid belt known as the Sea of Death Sand.

"Display data on Asteroid X-12," Seokjin commands, his voice low and steady exactly as he was taught to speak in command situations, though his natural demeanor is usually sharper than the textbook tone he sometimes uses. He walks to the central command table, each step steady on the floor covered in dark gray non-slip carpet. There, he looks at the faces of the working crew all young, enthusiastic, and unaware of how deeply they have plunged into a mystery that may exceed the understanding of humankind.

The main screen changes, displaying three-dimensional images of an irregular jagged rock, approximately twenty kilometers wide at its broadest point. Red markers are scattered across its surface, indicating the remains of once-thriving mining colonies. "Asteroid X-12 operated for seven cycles before being abandoned fifteen cycles ago," Minji explains as she opens historical records. "It was one of the largest durasteel sources in the outer rim until the Void Legion attacked. They didn't just destroy the colony, they scorched the entire surface, leaving nothing but radiation and warped metal. We've maintained quarantine protocols ever since."

"Yet the energy signature originates from the exact center of the old processing facility," Seokjin notes, tapping his finger on the screen. "Which means there are two possibilities someone ignored our quarantine orders, or whatever is producing that energy survived the Legion's attack."

"Sir, with all due respect, even if something survived, going down there is suicide. Radiation levels are still far above safe limits, and the structural integrity of the facility is highly questionable at best."

Seokjin turns to face his bridge crew, his dark hair slightly falling over his forehead as he crosses his arms. At twenty-eight years old, this commander is younger than most who hold similar positions, yet his record speaks for itself: thirty-seven successful missions, zero casualties under his command, and a reputation for getting results by any means necessary. His dark eyes like polished obsidian sweep over each crew member in turn, and he can see their concern clearly reflected on their faces some show fear, others resolve, yet all are filled with unspoken trust.

"I understand your concern, Lieutenant," he says, his voice filling the quiet bridge without needing to raise his volume. "But you all know what's happening across the galaxy. Worlds are burning, fleets are vanishing, entire star systems are going silent. The Void Legion isn't just attacking colonies anymore, they keep pushing deeper into Gwanghae territory with every passing cycle. We've been playing defense for too long, reacting to their moves instead of making our own."

He steps closer to the main display, his hand lightly touching the edge of the cool console beneath his skin. "This energy signature whatever it is could be the key to turning the tide. We can't let it slip away, and we certainly can't let the Void Legion get to it first. So we're going down there. All of you have the choice to stay on the ship."

"With all due respect, Sir," Minji interrupts, standing from her position with smooth yet firm movements, "we signed contracts to serve Gwanghae, and that means following you wherever you lead. Even if it's to a dead radiation-filled asteroid full of ghosts."

A faint smile touches Seokjin's lips, rare for someone better known for his strategic mind than his warmth. "Then prepare the landing craft. We'll suit up and be ready to deploy in ten minutes. Engineering Team, double-check radiation shielding on our suits and landing module. We only have thirty minutes on the surface before exposure becomes critical."

As the crew moves quickly into action, their feet moving in coordinated rhythm that has become instinct after thousands of hours of joint training, Seokjin heads to the ship's armory where Sergeant Lee Donghyuk has already prepared equipment for the mission. The cool sterile room is lined with rows of energy weapons, body armor, and tactical gear gleaming under white neon lights. The thick-haired sergeant looks up as Seokjin enters, his face breaking into a wide grin that seems out of place in such a formal setting.

"Commander! You're actually going through with this? I thought you'd wait for backup at least."

"Backup would take too long," Seokjin replies as he steps into his combat suit while Donghyuk helps him secure the sturdy metal fasteners. His suit is top-of-the-line advanced black with silver accents following the contours of reinforced plating, light enough to allow full mobility yet strong enough to withstand small arms fire and extreme environmental conditions. Its internal systems regulate temperature, provide oxygen, and monitor vital signs in real time, while the HUD built into the helmet can display everything from tactical data to environmental readings with remarkable accuracy.

"Besides," Seokjin continues as Donghyuk clicks the helmet securely onto the suit with precise movements, "I've always preferred being the one to make the first move. The Void Legion doesn't wait for backup, so why should we?"

The sergeant shakes his head, though there is clear admiration in his eyes. "You've always been this crazy, Sir. That's why we follow you."

Ten minutes later, the landing module detaches from the Hwaryeong with a soft yet definite hiss and begins descending toward Asteroid X-12 which looks like a dark rock floating in endless darkness. The journey takes only a few minutes but feels like an eternity as the module shakes and vibrates while passing through the thin atmosphere still clinging to the asteroid's surface, space dust particles striking the hull with a sound like sand blowing against glass. When they finally land, the impact is gentle enough Donghyuk is one of the best pilots in the fleet even when flying under less than ideal conditions.

"External pressure has stabilized," Minji's voice comes through the communication system clear despite the distance. "Radiation levels are 18.7 rads per hour we have exactly twenty-seven minutes before we need to return to the ship."

"Understood," Seokjin replies as he activates his suit's external lights while the module's ramp slowly lowers to the asteroid surface. The scene that greets them is even more desolate than the holographic images showed. The ground is covered in fine gray dust that produces a distinctive gravel sound when stepped on, mixed with countless pieces of metal and machinery warped by the extreme heat of the Void Legion's attack. In the distance, the remains of the colony's main structures rise from the dust like broken bones of a long-extinct giant, their hulls blackened and pocked from energy weapon fire capable of melting even the strongest metals.

"Spread out in delta formation," Seokjin commands, his voice clear and firm in every team member's ear through the internal communication channel. "Donghyuk, you're with me we'll head to the main processing facility. Minji, take the rest and secure the perimeter with a five-hundred-meter radius. If you see anything anything at all report immediately. And remember: we're not here to fight unless we have to. Our priority is to identify that energy source and bring back any data we can get."

As the team splits up with practiced movements, their feet treading carefully across the asteroid surface without disturbing the piercingly quiet atmosphere, Seokjin and Donghyuk head toward the processing facility which looms larger as they approach. The main processing plant was once an impressive structure five stories high with aerodynamic curves, with large conveyor belts that once carried ore from across the asteroid and processing bays capable of refining thousands of tons of ore per day. Now only heartbreaking ruins remain, walls collapsed in places, windows once transparent now just dark holes, and the interior filled with debris blocking every corridor.

"The energy signature is coming from the underground level," Donghyuk reports as he checks his scanner which pulses with faint purple light. "The old reactor core room, it seems. But the entrance is blocked the ceiling collapsed, from what I can see on the initial scan images."

Seokjin looks at the pile of warped metal and reinforced concrete blocking the main entrance, twisted out of shape by tremendous explosive force. Without hesitation, he steps forward and places his hands on one of the larger beams, its surface rough and cool under his suit gloves. "Stand back," he says, and before Donghyuk can respond, he straightens his body and pushes with full strength.

The beam which easily weighs several tons and should have required heavy equipment to move shifts and slides aside with surprising ease, making a clanging metal sound as it hits other debris around it. Seokjin has always been stronger than average, thanks to years of intensive training and genetic enhancements standard for Gwanghae military command officers. But even he is surprised by how little effort it takes to move the debris, as if extra strength is flowing through his muscles as he touches the metal.

"Sir... that beam shouldn't have been possible to move by hand," Donghyuk says, his voice full of awe as he notes the anomalous strength readings on his instruments.

"Maybe low gravity is helping us," Seokjin replies, though he knows that isn't the real reason. Something else is at work here something that seems to be boosting his strength, making him feel more alert, more focused than he has in years. He can feel every metal particle around him, as if they are speaking to him in a language he has never understood before.

They walk through the dark corridors of the processing plant, their suit lights cutting through thick dust floating in the air like thin fog. Each step echoes off the thick concrete walls, the sound mixing with their own heavy breathing audible inside their helmets and the steady hum of their suit systems working nonstop. The air inside the facility smells of rust and ozone, slightly acrid even through the suit's filtration system, and Seokjin can feel radiation pressing against his skin even through thick protective layers, a sensation like being rubbed with invisible fine needles.

As they reach the stairs leading underground, they find part of the stairs collapsed from the cave-in but still passable with care. They descend with careful steps, their hands finding purchase on the rough concrete walls covered in cracks. The deeper they go into the asteroid's depths, the stronger the energy signature becomes Seokjin can feel it now, a low vibration that seems to resonate in his bones and internal organs.

...cosmic energy essence. Every fragment contains part of the "Steel Soul" a consciousness that has existed since the birth of the universe. Ancient beings unseen by human eyes, who live in every metal crystal, every iron beam, every machine ever made. They remember times before stars began to shine, before life ventured into the cosmic darkness.

Seokjin looks down at his hand, where the metal fragment now merges perfectly with his glove, its violet light pulsing in time with his heartbeat. He can feel its energy flowing through his body, warm and powerful like molten fire coursing through his veins. Every nerve feels sharper, every muscle feels denser, and he can sense how his suit's molecular structure is changing, metal and energy merging into something new something stronger than the sum of its parts.

"Sir! You have to see this!" Donghyuk's voice pulls him back to reality. The sergeant stares at his scanner with wide eyes, his face pale under his helmet even though the room's lighting is minimal. "Energy readings off the charts. And there's something else. Several ships incoming Void Legion reconnaissance vessels, at least six of them. They're dropping out of hyperspace now, heading straight for our position. Their speed is well above standard they must know what's here."

Seokjin's HUD updates immediately, holographic displays floating before his eyes at impressive speed. The screen shows a detailed tactical overlay of the asteroid surface and incoming ship trajectories, red lines crossing with blue lines marking the landing module and team positions. Red markers flash rapidly as Legion ships emerge from hyperspace in blinding blue flashes, their dark hulls absorbing light like black holes, their shapes rough and covered in menacing weapon protrusions.

REWARD FOR COMPLETION: +500 EXP, 1 EVIL STEEL FRAGMENT, UNLOCK [BASIC SHADOW STEEL TECHNIQUE Lv.1]

SPECIAL NOTE: ENEMY POSSESSES HIGH-GRADE ENERGY SCANNERS THEY HAVE DETECTED THE FRAGMENT'S PRESENCE

Outside the facility, through thick concrete and metal walls, Seokjin can hear engine sounds growing louder, a hum building to a piercing roar. The sound is followed by the distinctive crack of energy weapons purple and green flares illuminating the darkness each time they punch through gaps in the ruins. Minji's voice comes through the communication system in bursts, her breathing ragged and her voice clearly strained: "Sir! The Legion is attacking they've broken through our perimeter fast. Some of them are using short-range teleportation techniques we've never seen before. We're falling back to your position but enemies are pursuing us! Mr. Kim is wounded he took a hit to his left shoulder!"

Seokjin looks from the pulsing interface before him to the ruins of the reactor room, then back to the constantly changing tactical data. He has faced the Void Legion before for nearly ten years in military service seeing the destruction they leave behind in colonies like Veridia and Titan-4, watching them massacre innocent civilians without mercy and burn fertile worlds to ash and debris. He has never feared them, never hesitated to face them in battle even under the most unfavorable conditions. But now, with new power flowing within him, he feels something he has never felt before: genuine confidence that he can win, that he can protect those under his command.

He activates the general communication channel, his voice steady and clear, every word sounding certain without any hint of panic he knows must be felt by most of his team: "All units fall back to the main processing facility, underground level. Use alternate routes through storage corridors three and seven I've marked the safest paths on your HUD. Donghyuk, set up defensive positions at the main reactor room entrance. Barricade with emergency shields from surrounding metal debris my system shows it will provide additional protection. Minji, once you're inside and have all wounded personnel secure, activate the barrier door closure mechanism we'll hold them here and use the building structure to our advantage."

As he speaks, he feels the Evil Steel energy surging through his suit like a river finding new paths after being blocked for ages. He watches in awe as the metal plates on his arms and legs begin to shift smoothly, metal molecules moving like liquid before forming new shapes. The gloves on his hands naturally extend into flat sharp blades, each glowing with intense purple light, while the armor on his forearms thickens and hardens, layer upon layer of metal stacking to form shields that seem to absorb and store light around them.

The sound of heavy boots treading on steel echoes loudly in the outer corridor, vibrations traveling through the floor to Seokjin's feet even before he can hear them. The sound is followed by hoarse shouts from Void Legion soldiers sounds more like machine grinding than human voices, full of hatred and lust for destruction. Legion forces are an odd mix of organic and mechanical their frail bodies reinforced with crude cybernetic enhancements and infused with dark magic from other dimensions, their faces hidden behind helmets that look like snarling metal masks with sharp teeth that never move. They move with unnatural speed and strength for beings still possessing biological parts, and Seokjin has seen firsthand how quickly they can slaughter even the most trained and experienced military forces.

But today is different. Today he is no longer just a commander with standard weapons and training.

As the first Legion soldier bursts through the already broken barrier door, his tall frame armed with a long energy sword lunges into the room. Seokjin steps forward calmly to face him, his movements steady and unwavering. The blades formed from his gloves gleam in the reactor room's dim light, and with a quick motion impossible for a normal human body, he pierces through the enemy's armor like thin paper. As the soldier falls silent to the floor, his body begins to dissolve into strange black dust, and numbers appear above where he fell: +15 EXP, +2 Steel Fragments, SPECIAL REWARD: Void Energy Core (can be used to boost system energy capacity or craft special weapons).

Immediately after, three more soldiers enter the room at once, each with different weapons one carrying a heavy energy rifle, another with long metal claws, and the third with a large shield covered in dark symbols that make eyes ache if stared at too long. Donghyuk fires from behind Seokjin with standard Gwanghae military energy weapons, his shots hitting targets accurately as he has studied enemy habits for years, yet most only glow on their armor surfaces without causing significant damage. Seokjin moves with speed that surprises even himself, his body spinning and gliding with agility that does not match his size and weight. His blades move like lightning cutting through darkness, slicing off one soldier's arm before he can fire, dodging claw attacks from another with quick weaving movements, then stabbing hard into his chest right between armor plates.

With tactical advantages provided by the system and new power flowing within him, battle is far easier than it should be. Seokjin can feel every enemy movement before they even begin to act, small vibrations in the metal floor telling him their direction and speed. He can clearly see where their armor is weakest, where plate joints are imperfect or where their energy is concentrated. He can plan every step, every attack, every dodge with remarkable precision like playing in a combat simulator he has fully mastered. Every soldier he defeats provides experience that makes his system stronger and items he can use to further enhance his abilities.

"Boost BASIC STRENGTH to your weapons!" Seokjin shouts to Donghyuk while dodging an attack from another Legion soldier. "Channel energy from your suit system to the rifle barrel it will help penetrate their protective layers!"

The sergeant nods quickly and follows the order, his right hand touching controls on his wrist to redirect energy flow. The same purple light glowing on Seokjin's body begins to spread across his rifle barrel, and when he fires again, his shots pierce enemy armor easily like needles through butter, causing them to fall one by one with clanging metal sounds as their bodies hit the floor.

In the outer corridor, battle sounds grow louder, mixed with small explosions and sounds of breaking machinery. Seokjin knows his team is fighting to get into the reactor room, and he must quickly finish off enemies in this room to help them before more casualties occur. He scans the room quickly, his eyes searching for something he can use to gain additional advantage in the coming fight. His gaze falls on metal debris scattered across the floor large pieces from old reactor core pipes and structures that have melted from fire then solidified again into irregular shapes.

Without a second thought, Seokjin raises his right hand, his fingers forming a special shape that naturally comes to mind. The large metal pieces possibly weighing dozens of kilograms vibrate powerfully, then slowly rise into the air before shooting forward at high speed. The metal objects strike two newly entered Legion soldiers with tremendous force, their bodies slammed hard into concrete walls creating wide cracks, their forms crushed under the weight of hot sharp metal.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU CAN NOW CONTROL METAL AT GREATER RANGES

With new power gained after leveling up, Seokjin feels stronger, the energy flowing within him seeming to grow more abundant and easier to control. He moves out of the reactor room and into a narrower corridor, where he finds Minji and several other team members fighting a larger group of Legion soldiers stronger than those he faced earlier. Some of these soldiers wear thicker armor with the same symbols as on the earlier shield, and they work together with terrifying coordination, forming battle formations that are hard to break through.

Seokjin leaps nimbly into battle, his blades moving too fast for normal human eyes to follow. He uses a combination of direct attacks and metal manipulation to destroy enemies easily twisting steel plates from the floor to knock down several soldiers, then darting forward to finish them off before they can get back up. In a short time, all Legion soldiers in the corridor are dead, their bodies scattered across the floor as proof of his new power.

His team quickly gathers around him, carrying two wounded but conscious team members. Their faces are full of awe and slight fear as they see what he has done, how he could face so many Legion forces alone and win easily.

"Sir... what happened to you?" Minji asks in a soft voice, her eyes unable to stop looking at Seokjin's hands which still glow with faint purple light even after the battle ends. "That... that isn't technology I recognize. Is this something you've been developing in secret?"

Seokjin looks down at his hands, watching how the purple light slowly fades and the sharp blades shift back into normal gloves. He knows his life will never be the same after this day, that he has found something that could change the course of the intergalactic war that has raged for more than twenty years. He has found power that could make him stronger than he ever imagined, power that could be new hope for the Gwanghae Sovereignty and everyone under its protection. And he is ready to

The sound of the large ship's engines rumbled like a giant heartbeat awakening from a long sleep, vibrations spreading through every metal fiber of the asteroid until its surface trembled and sang as if the entire iron world had become a massive string struck by cosmic hands. Seokjin stood at the end of the narrow corridor, his eyes fixed on a small viewport scratched by dust and impact marks. Outside, several Void Legion ships landed with menacing grace; their dark hulls like night rainbows were full of aerodynamic yet terrifying curves, reflecting light from distant stars that glowed like evil eyes in the darkness.

"We must return to the ship now," he said in a firm yet careful voice, each word spoken with precision honed by decades of fighting on battlefields. "Team, gather all fragments you have found and prepare for immediate evacuation. We have gained more than we hoped for, and it would be unwise to stay longer than necessary."

As his team moved with trained speed their hands protected by special gloves gathering small fragments glowing with mysterious purple light, each piece no bigger than a thumb yet radiating energy that could be felt like electric vibrations in the air Seokjin stood alone near the ruins of the barrier door that once guarded the hidden area. The system that had merged with him operated smoothly, energy circuits flowing through his bloodstream, presenting constantly updated data in his mind's eye.

SYSTEM STATUS UPDATED

CURRENT LEVEL: 2

FRAGMENTS COLLECTED: 12

NEW SKILL DETECTED: [STEEL PIERCING RAY Lv.1] – Can penetrate military-grade armor up to 10 cm deep with focused energy. Efficiency increases by 5% when used on pure metal surfaces.

The increasingly rumbling sound of the mothership's engines shook the room, making the ground under their feet sway and small debris fall from the pocked ceiling. Seokjin lifted his gaze to the distance larger Void Legion assault ships began landing in far greater numbers than intelligence estimates had predicted. They had sent their main forces.

"Team, move fast!" he shouted through the communication channel integrated with his body system, his steps quick yet steady as he retraced the debris-filled corridor. "They have sent their main forces we have no time left for slow movement!"

As they ran, Seokjin felt how the Evil Steel energy within him responded to every metal vibration around them, every impact of gunfire starting to sound from behind. The guards on his hands that were once just ordinary gloves now shifted shape on their own thin yet strong steel layers emerged from within his suit, forming contours that adjusted to the speed and strength he needed, their tips slightly curved into shapes usable for attack or defense.

When they reached the landing module ready on the makeshift pad, several team members were already inside, their weapons glowing blue or red depending on the energy type used. Minji the young officer who had shown extraordinary talent in close combat stood at the entrance, her portable energy weapon glowing with high intensity as she fired accurately at every Legion soldier emerging from behind debris: "We are ready for takeoff, Sir! Get in quickly!"

Seokjin leaped into the module with agility that did not match his muscular frame, Donghyuk the experienced sergeant who had followed him for five years close behind. As the module door closed with a precise click and engines began building power for takeoff, Legion gunfire started striking the module's outer surface with a sound like stinging hot rain, making metal vibrate and sometimes leaving small glowing marks. In just seconds, they lifted off the asteroid surface, leaving behind sounds of gunfire, shouts, and enemy confusion below.

Inside the module, the crew gathered breathless, their chests rising and falling after racing against death. Some had wounds on their arms or legs their blood slightly glowing from minor radiation effects of the battle but none were in serious condition. Minji immediately reported with unwavering professionalism: "All units safe, Sir. Two people with minor injuries but stable after first aid. We managed to collect several small fragments from the western perimeter about eight additional fragments besides those you brought. All have been placed in special storage containers."

Seokjin nodded, his eyes looking toward the container in the module corner, feeling how the fragments within him vibrated in response to energy from the other fragments they had brought back. "Excellent work, Minji. That will be very helpful for further research. Every fragment is a piece of the mystery we are trying to solve. Donghyuk, monitor all Legion ship movements use passive sensors so we are not detected, and ensure we have a clear path back to the Hwaryeong."

As the module landed back inside the Hwaryeong mothership's hull with soft controlled vibrations, Seokjin felt the energy within him merge more tightly with his suit as if the steel skin growing from within him was becoming more familiar with his body shape. His system interface reappeared with brighter light than before, displaying new information that made his heart flutter slightly with hope:

LEVEL UP!

CURRENT LEVEL: 3

EXP GAINED: 750/1000

NEW SKILL UNLOCKED: [STEEL ACCELERATION Lv.1] – Increases movement speed and reflexes by up to 15% for 10 seconds. Effect lasts longer if used in areas with high metal concentration.

SPECIAL REWARD: You have unlocked access to [STEEL WORKSHOP] – can craft and repair weapons and armor using Evil Steel energy. Additional fragments required to build high-level items.

Seokjin looked around the module room filled with his crew breathing easy, some starting to exchange stories in low yet excited voices. He stood slowly, his body feeling stronger and lighter than before, then spoke in a clear powerful voice audible to everyone: "Everyone, we have succeeded in this mission. We have found something that will change this war something that could be the key to defeating the Void Legion. But we have also drawn the attention of a greater enemy. We will soon leave this asteroid and set course for the distant Xuanlong Galaxy. However, before that, we will make a short journey to the Nearest Research Station in orbit around planet Ryu there we can analyze our findings more carefully and ensure we understand the power we hold before moving forward."

Outside the module viewport, they could see Legion ships beginning to fill the asteroid sky with their terrifying forms, some already launching small fighters to search for their trail. But this time, Seokjin felt none of the usual fear he felt when facing powerful enemies he felt a burning spirit within him, a desire to face them, to show that now a new power was ready to fight the darkness they brought.

As the module re-entered the Hwaryeong's hull with a precise click and doors began to open, all off-duty crew gathered in the main corridor and bridge to greet them. Their faces were full of awe and relief they had seen Legion ships arrive and feared they would never see their team members again. Some raised their hands to give respectful applause as Seokjin exited the module, followed by his team carrying containers of fragments glowing with mysterious purple light.

Seokjin walked onto the bridge, where the large wall-sized main screen displayed a three-dimensional map of their galaxy region, with the route to the Xuanlong Galaxy marked by a long winding white line. He could feel how his new power responded to every detail of information appearing on the screen data about cosmic energy fields, potential locations where Evil Steel fragments might be found based on previously discovered ancient records, and also maps of Void Legion forces distribution constantly updated by intelligence.

"All crew," he said in a clear confident voice audible through the ship's sound system, "we have found something that will change the course of this war. The Evil Steel fragments we found are not just material with physical power they are parts of a primordial force once used by an ancient civilization called the Steelborn, a civilization that once brought peace and prosperity to this entire galaxy before they vanished in mystery. They can not only merge with our bodies and grant extraordinary power they can also merge with cosmic energy and understand the dark magic the Void Legion has used to destroy our worlds for hundreds of years."

He raised his right hand, where the main fragment that had merged with his glove now glowed brighter, even emitting slight golden flashes as he spoke. "The system within these fragments has chosen me as its host, but I want all of you to know this is not just a gift for me personally it is a great responsibility to protect this power from falling into the wrong hands. We will head to the Xuanlong Galaxy to find the next fragments, to study more deeply the origins of this power and how to use it properly to protect what we love and restore peace to our universe."

Donghyuk's voice sounded from behind him, his usually calm tone now full of new burning spirit: "Sir, does this mean we will become a special force that can face the Legion with equal power? Will we be able to stop those who have destroyed so many worlds?"

Seokjin looked at the sergeant with a confident smile rare on his usually stern face then looked back at the large screen displaying the long route to their destination: "Not just that, Donghyuk. Until now, we have always been on the defensive, only able to respond to their attacks and clean up the debris they leave behind. But now, everything will change. We will no longer just survive we will become a force that seeks and intercepts them before they can hurt anyone else. We will become the new guardians of this universe, guardians with the power to fight darkness and bring back light."

On the main screen, a new message appeared in striking golden light, different from the ship's usual blue or white system display. Its letters looked like they were made of glowing steel:

MAIN MISSION UPDATED

OBJECTIVE: COLLECT ALL EVIL STEEL FRAGMENTS BEFORE THE VOID LEGION OBTAINS THEM; FIND THE MAIN SOURCE OF EVIL STEEL IN THE XUANLONG GALAXY CORE BELIEVED TO BE THE REMAINS OF THE STEELBORN CIVILIZATION PALACE

REWARD: ACCESS TO SUPREME STEEL SYSTEM, SKILL [TOTAL ENHANCEMENT] Lv.1, AND ABILITY TO BUILD STEEL FORCES CAPABLE OF FIGHTING THE VOID LEGION

Seokjin looked toward the distant stars outside the bridge's large viewport, his eyes able to capture details invisible to ordinary eyes light from far stars, energy trails left by other ships, and even slightly different gravitational fields in space. He felt how the energy within him responded to every signal from the vast universe as if the universe itself was speaking to him, revealing secrets hidden for thousands of years.

He knew the journey ahead would not be easy its path full of dangers from harsh space like cosmic storms, large space debris, and unstable energy fields. Additionally, far greater dangers would come from the Void Legion they would certainly follow the energy trail left by the fragments they carried, and they would not hesitate to destroy anything or anyone blocking them from gaining the same power.

But he also knew he was no longer alone. He had new power he could develop and learn, a system that would help him grow stronger over time. And most importantly, he had a crew that had proven their loyalty time and again, people willing to sacrifice everything to protect what they loved.

Within him, deep in the area where the Evil Steel system merged with his soul, he felt a quiet yet certain sound a sound like metal vibrations merging with his heartbeat rhythm, a sound as if it came from all Steelborn civilizations that ever existed: "You have taken the first difficult step, Steel Leader. The real struggle has only just begun, full of trials and tests that will push the limits of your strength and belief. But you are not alone we are here, in every metal fragment you collect, in every star shining in the cosmic night sky, in every steel you hold and every life you protect."

Seokjin pressed his right hand against the steel plate in front of the main bridge console, feeling how energy flowed gently from his body into the ship as if he and the Hwaryeong had now become one greater unity. He smiled with confidence long absent from his face confidence that now they had a real chance to end the destruction that had long plagued their universe, a chance to build a better future.

"Power up our main engines to full capacity," he ordered the engineering crew behind the bridge consoles. "Set course for the fastest route to Ryu Research Station, then proceed to hyperspace route toward the Xuanlong Galaxy. We will rest for a while and study all data we have now, conduct tests on our new power and build the weapons we need. But we will also remain vigilant at all times the Void Legion will not stay idle after losing this target from their grasp. They will come for us, and when they do, we will be ready."

As the large ship's engines began emitting a strong steady hum a sound once seeming like noise now sounding like a powerful rhythm the Hwaryeong slowly moved away from the asteroid that had witnessed the birth of their new power. The ship's claws moved smoothly, carrying them away from the area that had become a temporary battlefield. Seokjin stood before the large viewport, looking back at the asteroid growing smaller in the distance, its shape just like a tiny dot among the la

A few days later, the flagship Hwaryeong sailed through a spacetime channel known as the Gwanghae-Xuanlong Corridor a natural passage connecting the Gwanghae Galaxy to the border regions leading to the Xuanlong Galaxy. Intergalactic travel always required the ship's systems to operate at maximum capacity; extreme gravitational field fluctuations caused vestibular disturbances for most of the crew, while the noise from engines working overtime to maintain structural stability and life support was enough to prevent sound sleep. Yet Kim Seokjin remained unaffected. He was in the ship's Class S Armory a room equipped with material testing equipment and controlled energy fields fully focused on mastering the new ability activated after his level-up.

EVIL STEEL SYSTEM ACTIVE

ABILITY: STEEL MANIPULATION Lv.1

STATUS: TESTING SUB-MOLECULAR CONTROL CAPABILITIES OVER METAL

PARAMETERS: Energy Concentration Rate: 45 units/minute; Control Range: 1.2 meters; Shape Formation Accuracy: 87%

Standing upright with a focused gaze, Seokjin raised his right hand over a block of A-27 alloy steel the standard material used in hull construction placed on an energy-shielded workbench. He closed his eyes briefly, feeling the flow of Evil Steel energy coursing from the core system integrated with his body, through his blood vessels and muscle fibers, to the tip of each finger. In response, a microscopic energy field formed around the metal block. Slowly but steadily, the steel's molecular structure began to shift; its flat surface curved in a controlled manner, its edges narrowed and formed sharp blades that glowed with a faint purple light the result of interaction between the system's energy and the metal components.

"How remarkable your capabilities are, Sir," said Lieutenant Minji Soeharto, standing professionally behind him and carrying a flat folder containing digital reports. She had been observing the test for five minutes, recording every variation in energy concentration and resulting shape. "According to updated navigation data, we will reach the Xuanlong Galaxy's boundary within two full operational time cycles (approximately 36 standard hours). However, passive sensor units have detected a number of unregistered high-frequency communication signals from the direction of our main route. Analysis of energy spectra and transmission patterns indicates a medium-scale conflict in the Xuanlong frontier region."

Seokjin gradually let the energy flowing into his hand subside. The formed steel blade fell onto the workbench with a clear click, then reverted to its original shape as the controlling energy field dissipated. "Provide details on the conflict's intensity level," he said without turning around, his focus still on the now inert steel block.

"The intensity is very high, Sir. Sensors detect energy emissions from large-scale plasma cannons, modified nuclear warheads, and even traces of gravitational wave-type cosmic magic technology only mastered by high-tier military forces or organizations with access to ancient research archives. Based on energy signature analysis and intercepted communication protocols, the warring parties are the Xuanlong Galaxy Space Defense Corps and a space pirate organization known as the 'Black Shadow Force'."

"Pirates?" Seokjin scoffed, his tone conveying disbelief. He turned to face Minji, his eyes showing deep thought. "They dare to launch direct attacks against the Xuanlong military? Their Defense Corps is among the strongest combat forces in this sector they have dual-layer energy shield systems and special forces trained to handle high-level threats."

"Indeed, Sir. That is the anomaly in our analysis. The Black Shadow Force's operational profile shows they typically focus on raiding merchant ships and seizing valuable cargo, avoiding direct combat with large military forces. However, the data we have collected shows they are conducting coordinated attacks on Xuanlong Space Defense Base-73 a small facility in orbit around planet XLV-23, precisely in the region suspected to be the storage location of Evil Steel fragments based on the ancient records we analyzed earlier."

Seokjin frowned, showing deep concern. This correlation could not be dismissed as coincidence. If the pirate organization knew of the potential fragment location, it was likely the information had also reached the Void Legion. Another equally possible alternative was that the Black Shadow Force was working as hidden contractors or underground agents for the Legion a tactic often used by our enemies to conduct operations with trails hard to trace back to the main source.

"Immediately issue orders to the Navigation Division," Seokjin commanded in a firm, unyielding voice. "Redirect the ship's course to a vector heading directly for Xuanlong Base-73. If Evil Steel fragments are indeed present at that location, we cannot allow them to fall into either party's hands neither profit-seeking pirates nor the Void Legion, who would use its power for universal destruction."

Minji bowed respectfully and moved quickly to leave the armory, carrying the direct order to the main bridge. Seokjin turned back to the workbench, his eyes fixed on the steel block with even greater focus. He knew the time available to enhance his abilities was severely limited. Anyone competing for the fragments would surely have developed power and tactics that could not be taken lightly.

Two Time Cycles Later

The Hwaryeong arrived in the area around Xuanlong Defense Base-73 exactly as scheduled. From a safe distance of approximately 150,000 kilometers, the crew could observe the battle zone that had escalated into fierce combat through optical and spectral sensor systems. Blue and red energy explosions lit up space, ships from both sides exchanged fire with high intensity, and a vast field of debris formed from destroyed vessel wreckage some still burning with unquenchable plasma flames.

"Sir, the base situation is growing more concerning," reported Sergeant Donghyuk Kim from his post at the main sensor console on the bridge. The screen before him displayed a three-dimensional visualization of the battle zone, with each object marked by color to indicate identity and status. "The Xuanlong Defense Force is besieged inside the base's main structure. Pirate ground units have begun entering the complex through ventilation shafts and breached emergency exits. Additionally, sensors detect three large assault-class vessels approaching from sector 3-9-2 their energy signatures and weapon system configurations match Void Legion reference data exactly."

"The Legion has come to take advantage of the chaos," Seokjin murmured as he stared at the main screen showing the burning base. "They are using the pirates as a forward force to weaken the base's defenses, then will emerge to claim the spoils without having to sacrifice many of their own resources."

"What is our course of action, Sir? If we enter the active combat zone, the ship will become a target for both warring parties," Donghyuk asked, his eyes still focused on the constantly flashing warning indicators.

Seokjin gave a slight smile that conveyed deep confidence. "That is precisely what every third party arriving here would be expected to do. However, they have no information about the Evil Steel system power we now possess. Issue orders to the Weapons Division to activate all defense systems and prepare offensive weapons for immediate use. Ground combat teams must be ready for deployment within five minutes. We will retrieve the fragments before anyone can lay claim to them."

As the Hwaryeong entered the combat zone at controlled speed, the ship immediately came under fire. Weapon units from pirate vessels fired energy projectiles and plasma missiles toward it, but the ship's multi-layered energy shield systems easily repelled all attacks producing bright flashes of light each time projectiles struck the defense field. In response, the Hwaryeong's main weapons two heavy-class plasma cannons launched highly precise coordinated strikes, destroying two pirate assault ships in less than two seconds.

"Attention all operational units," Seokjin's voice rang clearly through the ship's internal communication system. "We will conduct an emergency landing on the roof of Xuanlong Defense Base-73's main structure. Ground combat teams will deploy first to clear the area around the main entrance and establish a security perimeter. I will enter the complex alone to locate and retrieve the Evil Steel fragment. Remember our top priority is to secure and protect the fragment, but do not hesitate to destroy anyone actively preventing us from achieving our objective."

Without waiting for further response, Seokjin moved quickly toward the small landing craft ready in the ground deployment bay. He put on a protective helmet integrated with his body system one that could enhance vision and provide real-time tactical data before the craft launched at high speed toward the burning base. As the craft landed on the still-intact roof surface, Seokjin exited immediately and jumped from a height of approximately five meters to the base's outer corridor, using his STEEL MANIPULATION ability to form a temporary metal shield from surrounding wreckage. The shield accurately intercepted gunfire from several pirates patrolling the area.

He landed lightly on the corridor floor inside, quickly facing three Black Shadow Force members using breaching tools to damage the main control room door. Without hesitation or hesitation, Seokjin attacked at speeds beyond his enemies' reaction capabilities. Blades of steel formed instantly from his protective glove sleeves pierced through the pirates' armor with ease exploiting material joint weaknesses detected by his system. In less than three seconds, all pirates fell helpless to the floor.

Seokjin found a functioning emergency elevator at the end of the corridor, activating it using authentication signals retrieved from the defeated pirates' communication devices. The elevator slowly descended to an underground level not listed on the base's standard maps. As the elevator doors opened with a loud click, he immediately faced a large figure over two meters tall, wearing glossy black armor with dark rune patterns on its surface. The figure wielded a large double-edged sword that also glowed purple a clear indication it had access to Evil Steel fragment power as well.

"You will not claim what lies in this underground chamber," the figure said in a deep, rough voice through its helmet's communication system. "I am Captain Zarak, commander of the Black Shadow Force. The fragment you seek belongs to me after my forces and I sacrificed much to reach it."

Seokjin gave no verbal response. He simply stood in a calm, ready stance, feeling the energy flow within his body increase in response to the presence of similar power. Captain Zarak attacked with surprising speed for his large frame; his sword sliced through the air with a hissing sound created by friction with air molecules. Seokjin dodged easily using his STEEL ACCELERATION ability, then delivered a quick counterattack with a steel blade formed from his left arm forcing Zarak to step back several paces to avoid fatal contact.

The battle between them raged with high intensity. Zarak had extensive combat experience and extraordinary physical strength, while Seokjin held a tactical advantage from his system's real-time analysis data and ability to control all surrounding metal materials. At one point, Seokjin controlled scattered metal hull debris on the corridor floor, sending it speeding from behind Zarak to strike unprotected areas creating enough surprise to gain a temporary advantage.

At the same time, the very loud sound of large ship engines echoed through the entire base structure. Sensors integrated with Seokjin's system showed Void Legion vessels had arrived and begun attacking both warring parties indiscriminately, without distinguishing between pirates and remaining Xuanlong forces.

"We must stop this fight now if we do not want both of us to lose our chance at the fragment!" Zarak shouted as he dodged a quick strike from Seokjin, while simultaneously firing with a sidearm mounted on his arm at Legion soldiers beginning to enter the corridor.

"The fragment will never fall into the Void Legion's hands," Seokjin replied in a cold but firm voice. "If you are truly intent on protecting it from forces that would use it for evil, help me drive them out first. Once the Legion threat is gone, we will settle our matter in appropriate fashion."

Captain Zarak fell silent for a moment, his eyes visible through his helmet visor showing serious consideration. After a few seconds, he nodded reluctantly. "Very well we will work together for now. But remember your word, outsider. Once the Legion is gone, you will still have to face me and my claim to the fragment."

The two immediately joined forces and moved quickly toward the energy source detected by the system. In the deep underground chamber protected by several layers of metal and energy shielding, they found the object of their search: an Evil Steel fragment roughly the size of a baseball, glowing with intensely bright purple light that illuminated the entire room with high intensity. Around the fragment placed on a special crystal platform several dark-armored Void Legion soldiers were installing energy extraction equipment that appeared to have been prepared in advance.

Without further need for verbal communication, Seokjin and Zarak attacked simultaneously from two different directions. The combined power of their steel manipulation abilities was enough to destroy the Legion soldiers quickly and efficiently. However, just as they were about to reach the platform holding the fragment, a dark portal took shape

A bright purple light blazed upward to the chamber ceiling, causing every metal surface in the vicinity to vibrate and reflect a similar luster. The figure in black robes curled their lips into a cold smile, then raised their right hand a long blade forged from deep black metal materialized mysteriously in the air, its tip blazing with menacing purple flames and emitting powerful energy vibrations.

"Do you truly believe you can stop me?" they spoke in a voice like grinding rough stone, echoing throughout the chamber. "I am Lord Khaos of the Void Legion one of three supreme leaders who have mastered the power of Evil Steel for thousands of galactic cycles. This fragment has belonged to us long before your generation was born and thrived in this universe."

Captain Zarak drew a deep breath, steadying his breathing as he gripped the hilt of his blade tightly; it glowed with deep crimson light, its surface reflecting a sheen that merged with the energy coursing through his body. "I may not know your full identity, but I will not surrender without true resistance. The Black Shadow Force has pursued this fragment for years on end, sacrificing countless members and valuable resources in the process!"

"Enough with meaningless empty words!" Seokjin roared as he leaped forward to the front line with agile movements. The steel blade in his hand gradually extended and widened, its surface beginning to absorb energy from the massive fragment hovering steadily at the center of the chamber. His body's integrated internal monitoring system operated at maximum speed, displaying a clear, structured set of information within his mind:

ABILITY TEMPORARILY ENHANCED

STEEL MANIPULATION: UPGRADED TO LEVEL 2

TEMPORARY PHYSICAL STRENGTH: +30%

NEW ABILITY ACTIVATED: [COSMIC STEEL STRIKE]

Seokjin swung his blade forcefully and with control toward Lord Khaos, sending a broad purple energy wave across the entire chamber at high speed. Yet the Legion leader merely raised one hand calmly, forming a transparent energy shield that appeared thin but effortlessly deflected the attack producing dazzling light sparks as the energy wave made contact with the shield's surface.

"Far too weak," Khaos said in a condescending tone, his gaze filled with disdain. He leaped into the air with movements disproportionate to his frame, then launched a flurry of rapid strikes. His blade moved along unpredictable trajectories, constantly changing direction to target various vital points on Seokjin's body.

Seokjin dodged each attack with fast, precise reflexes, but the enemy's blade tip still managed to graze his left shoulder tearing a small gash in his durable combat uniform and leaving a deep, painful wound. Blood began to flow slowly down his left arm, yet the pain did nothing to disrupt his well-honed focus.

Meanwhile, Captain Zarak also launched an attack from the enemy's right flank with perfect timing. He spun fully three times in the air, delivering a horizontal spinning strike that nearly reached Khaos's chest at extraordinary speed. But the foe simply crossed both arms in front of his body, easily neutralizing the attack before delivering a powerful, well-aimed kick to Zarak's abdomen sending him flying back toward the chamber's rear wall.

Zarak slammed hard into the reinforced concrete wall, sending construction debris and concrete shards falling from the ceiling and surrounding walls. He coughed roughly but soon struggled to his feet. His face was streaked with blood from a small cut on his forehead, yet his eyes still burned with unyielding fighting spirit and fierce determination to continue resisting.

Lord Khaos turned slowly to face Seokjin with piercing, penetrating eyes. "Now your turn has come to meet destruction. Once you perish and vanish from this universe, I will claim the fragment and destroy all living beings and structures in this galaxy beginning with the Xuanlong territories, followed by Gwanghae, and ultimately the entire universe will fall under the absolute rule of the Void Legion!"

Seokjin did not utter a word and maintained a battle-ready stance. He focused solely on the foe before him, feeling the steady flow of energy within his body and the high-intensity energy permeating the entire chamber. He looked toward the massive fragment at the center of the room, able to sense the extraordinary power contained within it along with the constant energy vibrations emanating outward. Yet he also perceived something else a faint but distinct consciousness, like a soft yet clearly audible whisper in his mind.

Help me, the voice said in a tone filled with hope and hidden strength. Together we can defeat him.

Seokjin realized this was the voice of the Steel Soul contained within the massive fragment a primordial consciousness that had existed for millions of years. The consciousness was alive and possessed the ability to choose, seeking an individual who was morally worthy and capable of wielding its power responsibly. Without hesitation or doubt, he slowly extended his right hand toward the fragment. Energy flowed steadily and powerfully from the fragment into his body, causing his entire uniform to glow with blinding purple light that completely obscured his form.

UNIQUE ABILITY UNLOCKED: [ETERNAL STEEL SOUL]

Seokjin felt unprecedented power coursing through every part of his body from the crown of his head to the tips of his toes. His frame felt as sturdy and strong as high-grade alloy steel, his vision sharpened to the point of reading the enemy's movements with pinpoint precision, and he could sense every attack Lord Khaos planned to make even before the foe initiated any movement. All information about the enemy's weaknesses and the best ways to counter them was clear within his mind.

"Now you will witness the true power of Evil Steel power used to protect, not to destroy!" Seokjin roared as he leaped high into the air with a jump far exceeding his previous physical capacity. The steel blade in his hand transformed dramatically into a massive sword with a design similar to his enemy's weapon, yet its light burned brighter and appeared far more powerful, with ancient rune patterns emerging on its surface.

Their battle grew far more intense and ferocious than before. The two blades clashed with sounds like rolling thunder that echoed throughout the chamber's structure, producing purple sparks that flew in all directions and causing vibrations clearly felt in every corner of the room. Seokjin moved with extraordinary speed, nearly impossible to see with the naked eye, delivering well-coordinated strike after strike that forced Khaos to retreat repeatedly to avoid fatal contact.

On the other side of the chamber, Captain Zarak watched the battle unfold with profound admiration and understanding eyes. He could feel the flow of power emanating from Seokjin's body power that far exceeded anything he could have imagined, with a nature distinct from the power wielded by the Void Legion. He realized he had neither the right nor the ability to claim the fragment for himself; Seokjin was the only individual worthy of wielding such power responsibly.

"I will assist you with everything I have!" Zarak shouted as he stood resolutely and immediately launched another attack from a different angle. Though his strength was no match for Seokjin or Khaos, he was able to provide sufficient distraction by striking at the enemy's weak points and forcing him to divide his attention thus granting Seokjin valuable strategic advantage.

When Khaos was distracted by Zarak's side attack and forced to retreat backward, Seokjin saw a golden opportunity he could not miss. He gathered all the energy within his body in a controlled manner into a small point at the tip of his blade, then struck with full force and precision at the enemy's chest the location of the foe's main energy source.

The impact caused the entire military base to shake violently and produce a deafening explosion. The purple light blazed so brightly that both Zarak and Khaos had to cover their eyes quickly to avoid temporary blindness. When the light finally faded slowly and spread throughout the chamber, they saw Seokjin standing tall and strong in the center of the room, his blade driven deep into Lord Khaos's chest protected by thick armor.

"No… impossible," Khaos whispered in a weak, unsteady voice, his body beginning to appear unstable. "I am the strongest in the universe… I have mastered power for thousands of years… I cannot be defeated…"

With a sound like grinding metal and wisps of black smoke rising, Khaos's body began to fade gradually into fine black dust that was carried away by air currents through the chamber's gaps and surrounding ventilation ducts. Before vanishing completely from sight, he looked at Seokjin with eyes filled with deep hatred and malice. "The Void Legion will never stop fighting to conquer the entire universe. We will return with far greater power, and when that time comes, you will not be so fortunate again!"

After Khaos had vanished completely, leaving nothing but scattered black dust in the air, the intense energy flow in the chamber began to subside slowly and return to stability. The massive Evil Steel fragment glided smoothly toward Seokjin, then merged perfectly with the small fragment already on his right wrist producing a soft yet clear purple flash. His internal system immediately displayed a well-structured important notification:

EVIL STEEL FRAGMENT SUCCESSFULLY ASSEMBLED IN FULL

YOUR CHARACTER CLASS HAS CHANGED TO: COSMIC STEEL COMMANDER

CURRENT LEVEL: 6

NEW ABILITIES UNLOCKED: [STEEL COMMAND], [COSMIC SHIELD], [STEEL ARMADA STRIKE]

Seokjin felt this new power merge perfectly with him no longer like foreign energy flowing within his body, but as an inseparable part of himself that he could control easily and precisely. He lowered his blade, which had now returned to its original form, then looked toward Captain Zarak standing not far away with eyes full of respect.

"The fragment is safe now and in the right place," Seokjin said in a calm yet impressively powerful voice that could calm others. "The Void Legion will never be able to take it from me again, and I will ensure its power is used for just purposes."

Zarak nodded deeply in respect then wiped the blood streaks from his face. "I now understand clearly why the Steel Soul chose you as its successor. You are truly worthy of wielding such great power responsibly. What will you do next after this incident?"

Seokjin looked toward the small viewport mounted on the chamber wall, able to clearly see the Void Legion's military ships beginning to retreat quickly after learning Lord Khaos had been defeated and there was no longer any chance of claiming the fragment. In the distance, the official military forces of the Xuanlong Galaxy were also beginning to retake control of the base area and evacuate wounded personnel.

"We will continue our unfinished and still long journey," Seokjin replied with a gaze looking far into the future. "There are still many other Evil Steel fragments scattered across various corners of the universe that I must collect before they fall into the wrong hands. The Void Legion will continue to pursue these fragments by any means possible, so I must become stronger from now on and continuously improve my abilities. And one day, I will face them at their main base and end this war once and for all so peace can be restored."

Zarak fell silent for a moment to consider Seokjin's words, then raised his arm straight in a formal military salute. "If you need assistance on this journey whether in the form of information, resources, or combat power the Black Shadow Force will be ready to provide full support. Though we are known as space pirates and have our own ways of operating, we also do not want the Void Legion to conquer the entire universe and destroy everything we know."

Seokjin gave a small yet warm smile showing gratitude and appreciation. "I will always remember this promise and will contact you when needed. Now, I must return to my ship immediately. My team must already be worried about my safety and the condition of the battle taking place here."

As they walked out of the underground chamber through the heavily damaged corridor, they found the Xuanlong Galaxy's military forces had arrived to carry out evacuation and salvage what remained of the base. The personnel were shocked to see the chamber's heavily damaged condition and learn the great threat from the Void Legion had been eliminated thanks to the extraordinary assistance of Seokjin and Zarak.

The base commander a woman in gleaming silver armor with high rank and honor medals on her chest approached them with firm yet respectful steps. She gave a formal military salute before speaking. "We do not know how to repay the debt of gratitude we owe to the two of you who saved us. You have saved this base and possibly the entire Xuanlong Galaxy territory from unimaginable destruction that would have brought immense suffering to millions of people."

"No payment is necessary because we all share the same goal protecting the universe from threats that could destroy it," Seokjin replied humbly while maintaining a professional demeanor. "All I ask is that you remain vigilant and improve the base's defense systems and coordination with other military forces in the area. The Void Legion will not stop just because one of their leaders has fallen. They will return with more elaborate plans and greater strength, and when that time comes, we must be ready to face them together as solid allies."

After further discussions regarding subsequent security measures and an exchange of important information between his side and the Xuanlong military forces, Seokjin returned to his flagship Hwaryeong along with his entire team who had come to retrieve him safely. The ship immediately continued its journey toward the inner regions of the Xuanlong Galaxy, where the updated internal mapping system indicated the next Evil Steel fragment was located in a border region known as the Xuanlong Hell Sector.

On the ship's bridge, Seokjin stood tall in front of the large main viewport, looking out at the endless expanse of stars and magnificent interstellar clouds beyond. Light from various stars and galaxies made the space scene appear vast and full of mystery. He knew the journey ahead would be far more difficult than before, that the enemies he would face would have ever-greater strength and more sophisticated tactics. Yet he felt no fear within him.

He possessed the power of the Steel Soul that had merged perfectly with him, he had a loyal and capable team always ready to support him in any situation, and now he even had reliable new allies from the Black Shadow Force. All of these were valuable assets for the long journey he was about to undertake.

The intergalactic war that had raged for years was still far from resolution. Yet for the first time since the war began and he first obtained the power of Evil Steel, Seokjin felt confident his side would achieve true final victory. He would collect all remaining Evil Steel fragments in the universe, master the full power of this ancient energy source responsibly, and bring lasting peace back to a universe that had long been mired in chaos and conflict.

The Evil Steel Soul had found its true master someone who possessed not only the physical strength and technical ability to control its power, but also a strong heart to use that power responsibly. And now the time had come to show the entire universe what true power could achieve power used to protect life and justice, not to destroy and dominate
