The next morning Roku arrived in front of the Konoha Main hospital while holding a basket of fruit. Most of the injured from the Nine tails attack were in the minor hospitals, but more important patients and those grievously wounded stayed here.
Kushina was one of the former, Roku walked through the busy hall towards the 3rd floor. The hospital smells like bleach and plastic. As Roku looked around at all the doctors and nurses walking around.
Roku sighed, even now days after the attack the hospitals were still full and busy but it seemed that they weren't rushing as much. So at least most patients were out of critical condition.
As he stepped onto the third floor he walked toward the end of the hall and arrived at a door guarded by 2 Anbu. Roku watched as the left Anbu stepped forward to stop him.
Roku's expression darkened, "Yumi you really dare to stop me? I got you this fuckin job and not a week ago i was your boss"
The Anbu now identified as Yumi turn silent and then answer sheepishly, "Sorry Senior Roku if the elders heard i let anyone in i would be punished"
Roku's expression softened, Yumi was a civilian ninja who he knew had raised her little sister since she was a teen. He knew she couldn't risk losing the job, if she lost it and got blacklisted by the elders she wouldn't be able to work and her sister would go hunger
Roku sighed, "Don't worry if anyone gives you trouble tell Shisui or Kushina, I promise they'll fight for you, Kushina wouldn't let you get in trouble for such a dumb reason"
Yumi hesitated and looked at the Anbu next to her before stepping to the side, Roku glanced at the other Anbu and scoffed. "Kakashi i am not afraid to beat your ass if you try and stop me"
Roku knew that Yumi was just scared of the higher ups and didn't want to hurt her sister's chances of success . But he also knew that Kushina wouldn't allow those idiots to punish Anbu for letting him in. The two anbu glanced at each other and stepped away.
Roku noticed how broken Kakashi looked, he was just a robot. He sighed, 'I guess I'll have to wait till guy gets back so he can cheer him up'
Roku nodded, "Go stand at the end of the hall, if I hear either of you peeping, all bets are off"
The two stopped and thought before leaving, but before they could go Roku stopped them. "Yumi send your sister to the Uchiha compound, and Shisui will take her off your hands. I'll tell him to train her and if she's talented enough he'll take her on as a student"
Yumi's eyes widened and she bowed down in front of Roku.She then began to thank him profusely "Thank you so much you have no idea how much this mean"
Roku laughed grabbed her and forced her out of the bow, "Yugao is a good girl i am sure she will be a good student and Shisui needs to have something to do"
That's right Yumi was Yugao the purple haired Anbu from the original story's sister. Roku had kept tabs on all plot characters in the Village that he knew, after noticing how hard her life was he had taken Yumi under his wing.
While Yumi wasn't very talented she was a special jonin, she also had a great talent for logistics work. So Roku had even helped her out and gotten her a job at Anbu.
The two weren't the only Anbu guarding Kushina, he had noticed an entire squad hiding in the shadows. But Kakashi was in charge so if he didn't stop they didn't dare.
Roku smiled as he opened Kushina's door, he looked at her sleeping. He smiled and set down the fruit. He walked over towards the crib by the wall and looked down at the sleeping baby.
His smile slowly disappeared as he watched the peaceful baby, 'So young but so much responsibility. At least Kushina is alive that should make your childhood better'
His smile returned as he thought of that but before he could think more the door shot open. "Step away from the Jincuriki or else" An "Anbu" shouted.
Well if you looked closely you would notice something about this "Anbu", their eyes held no emotion.
Roku turned around in anger but before he could respond he was interrupted. "Get out of my room you have no right to enter" Kushina screams at the Root Anbu.
The Anbu stopped and hesitated not knowing what to do, but before he could react a blade was placed against the man's neck. "You heard her leave or else I'll deliver your body to danzo myself."
The Anbu hesitated and just as Roku was about to act Kushina interrupted. "Roku quit it, just throw him out"
Roku didn't need to be told twice, he appeared behind the anbu dragging them by the collar. He throws the anbu toward Kakashi's group. "Don't let another root trash interrupt or you'll collect their body" he warned
Kakashi caught the body and nodded, Roku then stepped back in the room and shut the door.
Kushina sighed, "Roku your not normally so aggressive what got into you"
Roku frowned, "You've never seen me on the battlefield i treat most of my enemies worse"
Kushina eyes thinned before sighing again, "I know you hate danzo, hell knows i do too. But he's not an enemies"
Roku scoffed, "Agree to disagree"
Kushina shook her head before dropping it, "So you just come to visit?"
Roku hesitated before changing the subject, "How's Naruto been?"
Kushina's eye narrowed but she couldn't help but answer, "Isn't he just the cutest, OMG his tiny little hands and how he yawns and-"
Roku smiled before tuning her out, it seemed she could go on for hours about all the things she loved about Naruto.
