To begin with Dave decided to try and do the meme basics, 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats and a 10km run, well at least he tried to do the first ones as it was already dark and he didn't think his mom would be happy with him going out late at night even if he hadn't just been hit by lightning a day prior
unfortunately, things that happen in anime aren't as easy to do in real life, especially with a 5 kg vest on and as such he was only able to do 20 of each of the exercises before lying back down on his bed with aching muscles
"please let that have been enough to make a difference" he complained before opening the screen to check his progress
currently the display showed 0/8 for his blue energy and surprisingly 1/13 for his yellow energy
"what the, why has my yellow energy gone down" glad that his energy had increased by a bit but confused as to where the energy had gone
"your yellow energy is representative of your stamina, exercising will use it up even if you don't generate anything" explained Gen "the same is most likely true for your blue energy if you were to use magic but due to you not knowing how to do so the data is inconclusive"
"well that's a bit of a kick in the butt" Dave complained before realizing something "wait, does that mean that I will get stronger and have more natural stamina as my yellow bar increases, even if the max energy comes from the system" he asked hopeful
"the data seems to allign with your hypothesis, as such it is in your best interests to keep increasing your yellow energy" Gen replied
"alright then" Dave exclaimed, his determination increasing knowing he could become stronger as a side affect of the system "I might as well have a look at the new yellow achievement I obviously just got" knowing that he didn't do enough to get 2 max yellow energy, moving to the achievements page
Achievements 8/?
"8 achievements, I get that I will have got one from gaining yellow energy but where did the other one come from, and what reward came with it" he said to himself as he looked down the page
'external yellow energy' requirements: gain yellow energy via a method that isn't from the system, reward: +1 max yellow energy
"there's the one I expected" thought Dave, not being surprised in the slightest, looking down at the next achievement
'every last drop of energy (blue)' requirement: use all of the blue energy in a single generation, reward: blue energy recovers at twice the speed
"well this seems useful" Dave says looking at the achievement before coming up with an idea that he wasn't looking forward to
"Gen, tell me honestly, what are the chances that yellow energy has a similar achievement" he said already knowing the answer but dreading it anyway
"data indicates that it is above a 90% probability that it does exist, but as a warning, you will pass out the moment that the energy is used to start the generation if you decide to go through with it" Gen informs him
"I know" he sighs, slipping under the covers "but if I want to master this system I'm going to have to take everything that it gives me, please wake me up once my yellow energy is back to full, hopefully I can do it early in the morning so that I'm not passed out for the whole day" closing his eyes
"I'm not an alarm clock" Gen huffed, the most emotional Dave had heard her "but understood, goodnight Dave" she said
"goodnight Gen" Dave replied before slipping into a deep sleep
