I could feel the mate bond between us. The slight tingling sensation on my body from where he touched was making me aroused. The pull I felt for him was stronger than any emotion I felt before. He pulled me in his embrace and dipped his head on my neck. Then I felt his teeth on my marking spot, nibbling on the sensitive skin. I yelped and clenched my thighs together. The wetness between my thighs was increasing with every passing second.
Sensing my arousal, he lifted his head from my neck and looked into my eyes. But his eyes were different, not like the sea-blue eyes I am used to seeing all my life. Not only the eyes, but the person seems different. He wasn't my crush, Jacob. Then who was he? I can only see his dark green eyes in this dark room. I need to see his face. I leaned closer to see his face, but someone was calling me from a distance.
"Bethany, I am telling you for the last time that if you don't get your lazy *ss from the bed right now, I am going to pour cold water on you."
I opened my eyes instantly, hearing my mom's voice. Was I having a dirty wet dream? Then who was that person with me? 'If my mom didn't wake me from my sweet dream, then I would have already seen his face.
"Bethany, do I need to send your dad to pull you out of your bed?" My mom yelled from the kitchen again. I angrily got out of bed, threw an oversized hoodie over my head, and walked to the kitchen.
"Why are you shouting at this early morning, Mom? I was having a good dream?" I whined at her. I was mad at her for waking me up from my sweet, sexy dream.
"Don't give me that attitude, lady. You should get dressed, or you will be late for school. Alyssa is coming to give you a ride to school," she scolded me. And I remembered that today is Monday and I have to go to school. I pecked on Mom's cheek and ran to my bathroom. I don't want to be late because it will make Alyssa mad. She is my best friend and the daughter of the beta of our pack.
I forgot to introduce myself. I am Bethany, the only daughter of my parents. We are werewolves and members of the Silver pack. Both of my parents are great warriors of this pack, and I am proud of them. After getting dressed, I joined my parents for breakfast.
"How's school going, dear?" my dad inquired about my school as always.
"School is going great, Dad," I responded to him while drinking my favorite orange juice.
"Don't forget to come early this afternoon from school. You have to prepare for the 'Moon ball' tonight," Mom reminded me of the special event tonight.
'How can I forget about the Moon Ball? I have been dreading this day for the last few months,' I thought in my mind. Moon Ball is a ceremony held by my pack every year for all eighteen-year-old werewolves. This is a ceremony to celebrate their adulthood. Every teenager at my age waits for this ceremony except for me. I have my own secret for dreading this day. I don't have a wolf, and that's a shame for any werewolf. I am nervous and scared about the reaction of my parents or the other pack members when they find out my secret.
The shrieking sound of a car honk pulled me out of my thoughts. Alyssa is here to pick me up. So I took my bag and ran outside after saying bye to my parents.
"Hey, good morning, Beth," Alyssa said with a broad smile."Morning, Alyssa. You look extra happy today," I responded to her while buckling up in the passenger seat. After confirming that I was seated, she started the car.
"I am excited today for the Moonball. You know every werewolf longed for this day. I will meet my mate today. I just hope it's Jacob," she exclaimed like a lovesick puppy. I know she also has a crush on Jacob, just like me. But it's not her fault. Jacob is handsome, good-looking, charming, caring, and the future Alpha of this pack. His father is the current Alpha of the Silver pack, so his only son, Jacob, will be the next Alpha. Every girl in our school is crazy for him. Though I have a huge crush on him currently, I don't have the right mind to talk to Alyssa about him. I have my own fear to fight with.
"Beth, what are you thinking about? You seemed lost today," Alyssa asked me while parking the car in front of our school.
"Nothing, I am just thinking about what I wear for the Moonball." With that, I got out of the car, and we walked inside the school.
While we were walking to our class, we bumped into Jacob. He looked handsome as always.
"Hey, Bethany, I was looking for you," he said, looking at me with his deep blue eyes. I couldn't help but blush to see him so close to me.
"And why were you looking for her?" Alyssa asked, batting her eyelashes at Jacob. But he didn't even look at her for once.
"I am excited about today's Moonball. I can't wait to find my mate. I think it's you, I always feel a weird pull toward you," he said, smiling at me sweetly. The smile on my face faltered upon hearing about the ceremony.
"I am getting late for my class. See you tonight," I faked a smile and walked to my class.
"I will be waiting for you," he yelled from behind. I didn't look back but ran to my class, leaving an angry Alyssa, who was staring with hatred towards me.
In the evening…..
I was sitting in my room, lonely. I was nervous about attending the event, thinking about the possibilities that could happen there. I was afraid because no one would accept me as a member of the pack once they found out my secret. They would either make you the lowest rank of omega or expel you from the pack. What if my parents abandoned me after knowing the truth? I was lost in my thoughts when I heard a knock on my door.
"Bethany, dear, are you here?" came my mom's voice from the other side of the door.
"Yes, Mom, come in," I responded to her. My mom entered my room, followed by my dad.
"Why are you still here? You should be at the party right now," said my dad, sitting beside me.
"Dad, I am nervous. What if I couldn't stand up to your expectations? Will you abandon me?" I asked him cautiously.
"Silly girl, you are my princess, and you always will remain the same to us. No matter what happens in life, we will always be with you and support you," Dad pecked on my forehead. I hugged him, being emotional. My mom came to us and caressed my head.
"Don't think too much, just enjoy every moment of your life," Mom said, and I hugged her too. With new inspiration from my parents, I felt much relieved and left for the party.
After reaching the Moonball, I looked around in search of Alyssa, but she was nowhere to be found. I walked around seeing other pack members enjoying the party. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around only to meet the sea-blue eyes of Jacob. He seemed taken aback after seeing my reaction. After a few seconds, a huge grin formed on his thin lips.
"I knew it. I knew for the last few months that you are my mate," saying that he pulled me into a hug. I was dumbfounded. Was Jacob actually my mate? Then why am I not feeling anything for him? Is it because I don't have a wolf? My crush has actually turned out to be my mate, what can be more blissful for me? Before I could hug him back, Jacob, however, pulled away, frowning at me.
"Why aren't you reacting? Can't you feel the mate pull between us?" he asked me suspiciously. I was about to reply to him when I heard Alyssa's voice.
"She can't feel the mate pull because she is wolfless. She doesn't have a wolf," Alyssa declared my secret in front of Jacob. How did she know my secret? I turned to Jacob in the hope that he would stand by my side and support me. But he was looking at me with disappointment. Before I could explain anything, he left from there, leaving me with Alyssa and her friends. I tried to go behind him, but Alyssa blocked me from following him.
"Why did you do this? You are my best friend, Alyssa," I asked her. Tears started rolling down my face.
"You are asking me why I exposed you? I exposed you because I hate you. I hated you for every time Jacob ignored me. Everyone is always praising you; no one cares for me. You don't deserve him. Only I can be his Luna. He will never accept a wolf-less freak like you as his mate. And now I am gonna punish you for all this year you humiliated me," saying that she started punching and kicking me. Soon, her other friends also joined her. They were beating me like a punching bag.
"What is happening here?" They stopped beating me, hearing Alpha's voice. When they went away from me, I saw the Alpha was standing there, along with my parents.
"Oh my God, Bethany!" My mom rushed to me, helping me to stand on my feet. Alpha inquired about what was going on there, and I did explain everything to him. My parents and Alpha seemed shocked hearing that I don't have a wolf. I can see disdain in Alpha's eyes. My parents were also looking at me with pity.
"Meet me at my office tomorrow." After saying that, the Alpha left from there. Alyssa and her minion also left from there, sending me glares and mocking looks.
What will happen tomorrow? Will the Alpha throw me with the omegas or expel me from the pack? Will my parents also disown me after knowing my truth?
