Chapter 11 - chapter 11: Don't speak to Cole

I don't want you anywhere near that môtherfuçker" Hardin yelled at her and Hailey scoffed immediately they got into the house.

"And I will do just that because you said so?" Hailey snapped back, her gaze filled with fury matching that of Hardin.

"Yes.. you will, you're going to stay away from him, if you want him to remain alive" Hardin said and Hailey rolled her eyes.

"Are you threatening me? You don't see me throwing a fit when you get all cozy with that woman and now you have a problem with me having friends?" Hailey said with a scoff.

"Cole is not a friend, he is not to be trusted, that guy is a pretentious skimming bastard!" Hardin yelled. "I don't believe you, like you're any better, all you've ever done is cause me pain, why did you even marry me in the first place" Hailey yelled her voice breaking.

"You don't get to ask questions, you only listen to what I say" Hardin said, his eyes digging a hole in her body.

"I'm your wife not your slave! You have been treating me like a slave since I got here and am fed up with your bullshit" Hailey said her eyes filled with tears.

"You always take away things that bring me joy, make me work like a maid but I tried my best to think positively, this has crossed the line, Cole is the only real friend I have made in a long time and you have to ruin that for me too" Hailey said tears finally streaming down her face.

"I hate you!" She screamed before going upstairs and Hardin stood there watching her, he watched her go to her room and slammed the door shut.

He sighed and ran his hands through his hair roughly.

"Fuçk!"

Isn't this what he wanted, he wanted to make her cry, see her suffer but right now he feels terrible, he doesn't feel as good as he thought he was going to feel.

He ran his hand through his face as he sighed heavily, he knew that she wasn't the same person but he was blinded by hatred.

"I need a drink" he said before walking towards the home bar.

Hailey woke up feeling a banging headache, her head was beating as fast as her heart, she dragged herself from the bed.

She had cried herself to sleep last night, she was in her room all day after what happened, she didn't even have the appetite to eat anything and anytime she thought about her condition she couldn't help but cry.

When she got to the bathroom, she splashed water on her face in an effort to calm her nerves and then she crawled back to her bedroom.

She picked up her phone and scrolled through social media in order to distract herself then she saw the headline.

TWO RIVAL CEOS FROM TOP CAR COMPANIES IN NEW YORK FIGHTS OVER A WOMAN WHO HARDIN ANTHONY CLAIMED TO BE HIS WIFE

Hailey read it over and over again before scrolling up to look at the pictures, when did this happen?

It showed a clear view of her face and that of Hardin and Cole in the restaurant.

Who took these pictures, how did they even take them?

Wait... Rival CEOs?

Hailey quickly searches for Cole and it turns out he owns a car company just like Hardin and they have been rivals for a long time.

"Fuck" Hailey muttered as she stood up from the ground and walked out of her room.

The house was empty as usual and she went to the Hardin room. She wanted to knock but decided against it.

He probably wasn't inside, cause it's 11am, he must have gone to work and she was still mad at him, what he did yesterday really hurt her.

Cole never told her he was the owner of a car company as big as Hardin's, but she never told him about Hardin either.

Her phone pinged with notifications and she entered the post, Hardin had verified that yesterday that she was his wife.

According to the press, Hardin said he saw his wife eating in a restaurant with his rival and he decided to get her, he also said she didn't know Cole was his rival but he had no idea if Cole knew she was his wife.

Of course Cole didn't know that, she never told him.

Hailey bit her lips, a habit of hers that she does to calm herself down.

"Would it be alright if I call Cole, he probably wants answers from me" Hailey muttered as she stared at her phone.

She was sure he didn't know she was Hardin's wife, if he did he wouldn't talk to her, and maybe he was thinking she befriended him because she wanted to get information for her husband.

The thought made Hailey bit her lips, the only friendship she has ever had is being ruined by Hardin.

He is truly a demon sent from hell.

Hailey slowly walked back to her room, when she entered her phone rang, it was Cole calling and she blinked.

She thought he didn't want to talk to her and probably hated her with the news going around.

She swiped her phone, received the call and placed it on her ears.

"Hailey?" Cole said and Hailey bit her lips.

"Good morning, I'm really sorry about yesterday, I didn't know he was going to be there" Hailey started.

"Are you married to him?" Cole asked and Hailey hesitated, it wasn't like the marriage was real but they were still legally married.

"Yes" Hailey answered and Cole went silent.

"I was going to tell you, I didn't know you owned a rival company, I really didn't become friends with you to spy on you, I promise" Hailey said hurriedly and she heard Cole sigh.

"Can we talk about this in person?" Cole asked.

"With the news of what happened yesterday going around, it would be hard for us to meet," Hailey said.

"Didn't I warn you against talking to him?" Hailey heard a cold deep voice from behind her and she turned.

Hardin was standing by her door, she didn't lock the door cause she thought she was the only one at home.
