Chapter 16 - chapter 16: Escaping from him

Hailey was so grateful for Cole's help, she wouldn't have escaped Hardin if not for him, but technically she hasn't escaped yet.

She planned on leaving the country with a new identity that Cole prepared for her, she just hopes everything goes well.

Hailey got into the shower to take a bath as soon as Cole left, he had a business meeting he needed to attend.

When she was done, she went back to the hotel room and sat on her bed, her eyes met the new phone Cole got her cause they couldn't be too sure there wasn't a tracker in her old phone.

Besides the phone was damaged, she needed a new one, Hailey has never felt so grateful to someone before, Cole was all she had now.

It was so late and Hailey couldn't sleep, her eyes had been on her phone all day, she tried sleeping multiple times but she couldn't.

She reached for her phone and it was 2am, Hailey sighed tiredly and dropped the phone looking at the ceiling.

Cole came to see her this evening, and he brought clothes for her, she can't begin to imagine how nice he had been to her.

She doesn't deserve it at all.

The door to the hotel room burst open loudly and Hailey flinched in fear, she quickly sat up on the bed and her eyes went to the door.

The room was dim because it was late and the lights were turned off. The moon in the sky was the only thing that lit up the room.

Hailey's hand shook in fear when she realized who was standing there.

It was Hardin

How did he find her? She thought Cole said this place was secure, he couldn't just wait till tomorrow when she would leave the country.

"You actually thought you could run away huh?" Hardin said, his voice coming out icy and Hailey swallowed.

He walked up to her and yanked her hand roughly, Hailey tried to struggle but he was stronger, he dragged her out of the room but she was reluctant.

"Leave me alone you monster, I don't want to go with you" Hailey complained as she tried her best to get away from Hardin's grip.

Hardin had enough of her attitude and he carried her on his shoulder, she used her hand to hit his back as they walked out of the room but he didn't move.

Her attempts to hurt him completely failed.

Hailey was screaming and yelling in hopes of someone coming out to help her but nothing, the hotel was silent.

Hardin got outside the hotel and he forced her into the back seat, she was struggling and her attitude was beginning to annoy him so he knocked her out.

Just a little strike on her neck did the job.

_______

Hardin stared at Hailey as she slept peacefully on the bed, he had brought her back to her room in his mansion and she has been sleeping since last night.

It's 8am now and he was waiting for her to wake up, he wouldn't leave the house unless she woke up.

He couldn't believe he trusted her, he was completely wrong to think she was different cause she definitely wasn't.

She deceived him and acted nice just so she could leave him and he was completely angry, she did exactly the same thing his first love did and he was a fool to fall for it again.

Hailey's eyes flickered open and the first thing her eyes met were the piercing gaze of Hardin, she quickly sat properly on the bed as she stared at him.

"How was your little game? I hope you had fun" Hardin spoke and Hailey swallowed.

"How did you find me, what about Cole?" Hailey said and Hardin Chuckled darkly.

Of course she was going to ask about Cole, the one person that planned to help her escape.

"You think you can run away with the help of Cole, we signed a contract Hailey, you can't just run away" Hardin said and Hailey bit her lips.

Tears gathered in her eyes, she was this close to freedom but Hardin had to take everything away from her again.

"Where's Cole?" Hailey asked and Hardin frowned.

"He is dead, I did warn him to stay away from you but he failed to listen" Hardin said and got up from the chair he was sitting on.

Hailey's eyes widened as she looked at him.

"Wh.. what do you mean?" Hailey said but Hardin ignored her.

"You're not allowed to leave this room from today hence forth" Hardin said and walked out shutting the door.

Hailey felt her entire world crumble, Cole was dead! She wasn't finding it hard to believe that Hardin had killed him.

He definitely looked like the type to do that and his expression when he said it showed it was true, he wasn't lying.

Hailey sobbed hard, Cole just wanted to help her as a friend and now she led him to his death.

She couldn't stop her tears from falling.

______

"She really did that?" Mark asked with wide eyes.

"She doesn't only look like her but behave exactly like her" Hardin scoffed and Mark blinked.

"Things are definitely taking a terrible turn, but I don't really blame her you know" Mark said and Hardin glared at him.

"She deceived me so she can run away," Hardin said angrily.

"I know, but Hailey is different, you didn't treat her right, were you expecting her not to leave?" Mark retorted and Hardin scoffed.

"I'm serious Hardin, if anything I think you force her hand" Mark said, Hardin wanted to speak but Mark's phone rang.

"Hey dear" Mark said over the phone immediately he picked and the yelling of a woman followed.

Hardin immediately knew it was Faye, it's already quite late, of course Faye would be angry with him.

"I have to go now," Mark said after he hung up and Hardin nodded.

"Just remember that she's not at fault" Mark said again before leaving.

* When Hardin got home he sighed, Mark's words rang in his head, he definitely wasn't treating her well or else she wouldn't have planned on running away.

But the fact that she deceived him still remains and he can't forgive that.

He walked up to Hailey's room to find her on the ground, her wrist was bleeding badly and she was conscious.

Hardin's eyes widened as he ran up to her.
