Hailey has been unconscious for the past one week after Hardin rushed her to the hospital, right now he is sitting by her bed side and he held her hand in his.
He honestly couldn't believe she tried to kill herself, was he too harsh on her?
Mark's words rang in his ears and he definitely couldn't deny the fact that his friend was right.
What hurt him the most was that she tried to kill herself because she thought he killed Cole.
He has been denying the fact that he loved her for a very long time, when he saw her at the party that day he knew immediately she was different.
She looked like the woman who hurt him but he knew she was different, but he just couldn't let go of the fact that he was hurt by the person who looked exactly like her.
He knew she was overwhelmed by everything, she didn't even know why he was being terrible to her and he believed that's what hurt her the most.
Hardin realized his mistake but it was a little too late. If she had planned to end her life because of him then there's no going back from this.
She would never trust him again.
His mother was right after all, he should have ended this before it got out of hand. Now he can't turn back the hands of time, all he can do is try to amend his mistakes.
Hailey's eyes fluttered open and her eyes met with Hardin's, he held her hand in his and she didn't waste time to pull her hand away from him.
Her face was pale and weak but it had clear irritation, she looked at Hardin with so much hate and Hardin felt a pang in his heart.
It had always hurt him when she said she hated him but right now she isn't saying it but it was way worse cause her eyes reflected that hate.
"Wait a moment, I will get the doctor," Hardin said and walked out of the ward, he came back minutes later with the doctor.
After performing a series of check ups, the doctor confirmed she was getting better and she just needs to rest more.
"Why did you bring me to the hospital?" Hailey said coldly, her voice devoid of emotions, and immediately the doctor left.
"I'm supposed to let you die?" Hardin asked and Hailey scoffed.
"You haven't tortured me enough right? That's why you want me to stay alive" she replied and Hardin sighed, he expected this.
He knew she would be cold towards him and he was prepared for that.
"Cole isn't dead, I didn't kill him" Hardin said and a pang of hope flashed through Hailey's eyes but it quickly faded.
Hardin noticed it though and it hurt way more than he expected, she was happy Cole was alive.
"I don't believe you," Hailey said after a while.
"You really think I would kill him, yes I actually would but I didn't" Hardin replied.
"I hate you" Hailey said and turned on the bed, away from Hardin.
She didn't want to talk to him or see him, he had hurt her enough and she won't let him do that anymore.
"I will ask someone to bring food to you" Hardin said and when he got no response he walked out of the hospital.
If he really didn't kill Cole then she was more than happy, If anything she was glad Cole didn't die for her sake.
She couldn't believe she tried to kill herself, she never thought it would get to that extent, was she really that hurt.
Well.. there's nothing to live for in this life anyway.
_____
The next day Hailey walked back into the ward on her patient clothes and sat on the bed, she had gone to the bathroom.
She noticed the flask which she knew was filled with food, just as Hardin said she was given food everyday, not the normal hospital food but one Hardin sent to her.
The door opened and Faye entered the ward with a worried expression, Mark behind her.
When Faye saw Hailey she quickly walked up to her and hugged her tightly.
"I'm so glad you're okay, how are you feeling now!" Faye asked worriedly.
"You'll suffocate her, she is still sick" Mark added and Faye reluctantly let go of her.
"Im getting better thanks" Hailey managed out, it seems they didn't know she tried to kill herself, Hardin didn't tell them?
A small part of her was glad he didn't cause she didn't know how to face Faye, this woman has been nothing but good to her and she planned on leaving her without telling her about it.
"Where you that stressed, how did you faint so suddenly, when Hardin told us you were extremely sick I was very worried, I can't believe he didn't say anything till after such a long time" Faye said hurriedly and Hailey chuckled.
"I'm okay now, just need to rest a bit" Hailey replied and Faye hugged her again.
"I'm glad you're okay" Mark said and Hailey smiled at him.
"Don't smile at my husband Hailey, you may be my friend but I won't tolerate that" Faye said and Hailey laughed.
She would have missed Faye the most if she had left, Faye never misses a chance to make her smile.
"You have nothing to worry about," Hailey said.
"Let's leave you to rest" Mark said and gestured for his wife to leave but Faye was reluctant.
"She needs to rest, you shouldn't bother her with your talk" Mark cautioned Faye and she frowned.
"I don't talk that much and I promise to visit tomorrow with huge roses" Faye smiled at Hailey.
"I would be expecting it" Hailey said.
"Let's go" Mark said and took his wife out of the ward.
Hailey chuckled behind them and lay on her bed, as usual she didn't eat the food Hardin sent to her.
She was still very much angry at him and she wouldn't eat his food at all.
