Ficool

Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - A large amount of information.

I started picking up a few books. I took books about the dungeon, monsters, falna, gods, and everything that seemed important. My clone had also picked up some books. There was a reading area, and I sat down there.

Meanwhile, the clone stayed hidden in the corridors.

If my clone sat at the same table as me to read, it could cause confusion if someone saw us.

I began reading, and after almost half an hour, I was already bored. I was never someone who enjoyed reading that much. "And this book is extremely boring. Thankfully, there are lots of illustrations explaining the structure of the dungeon."

But just looking at the illustrations wasn't enough to know all the paths of the first, second, third floors, and so on.

I had to study carefully and then explore the floors on my own. Unless there's a way to buy a dungeon map, which I highly doubt. 'It shouldn't be that hard to map the dungeon and store everything in my mind.'

Especially with the help of my clone.

I can leave him to explore the dungeon at night while I sleep.

Even without feeling motivated, I kept reading.

Incredibly, I was able to understand everything with ease. My head was becoming more and more filled with information—including information I hadn't even read myself. Those were probably details coming from the clone.

The information was coming in huge quantities and incredibly fast. What the hell?

Can the clone read faster than me?

Since he doesn't have emotions and doesn't feel pain… maybe he's like a machine that can absorb information effortlessly? That might be it. I wanted to go check on him, but I didn't.

I kept reading and eventually reached the 12th floor. "What an interesting place. The dense fog could be a problem."

While I was focused, someone walked past me.

It was a woman.

"Good afternoon," she greeted me.

"Good afternoon." I didn't even look at her face and continued reading.

POV: Third Person

An unfamiliar woman arrived at the library and paid the entrance fee before passing by the tables usually used by patrons. There was only one handsome blond man sitting there. Several books were spread out across the table.

'Is he studying the dungeon?'

There were books about monsters, magic stones, items, dungeon floors… many books.

The man was reading diligently.

'He's so handsome.' He looked even more attractive in the woman's eyes because he was so focused. His serious expression was incredibly charming. The woman's face turned red, and she greeted him.

"Good afternoon."

"Good afternoon."

The man replied. His voice was deep and pleasant, sending shivers through the woman's body.

Her heart raced, and her satisfaction reached its peak. She could die happy now. She moved on and headed to the shelves on the second floor, where the books were kept. She walked through the first aisle, searching for what she wanted.

Then the second aisle.

But when she reached the third aisle—

"Huh?" Her eyes widened. She didn't understand what was happening.

There was a blond man sitting on the floor, reading books. He was identical to the man she had just seen—even his clothes were exactly the same.

'What is going on here?' she thought, looking back and forth between the man and behind her.

She looked again at the man and noticed his eyes moving rapidly across the pages before he turned to look at her. He was reading at an abnormal speed, a speed she had never seen anyone read at before.

'What…' She was left speechless.

Then the man stopped reading and looked at her.

His eyes were somehow strange, as if they had no life in them.

The woman grew nervous and took a step back.

"Hello?" She smiled and tried to act friendly. "Didn't I just see you in the reading room? How did you get here so fast? Hahaha…" She laughed awkwardly.

"..."

However, the clone stared at her for a few seconds and said nothing.

He ignored her and continued reading.

After all, he had to follow his owner's orders.

The woman stood there for a moment before walking past him, carefully avoiding stepping on the books scattered across the floor.

She wanted to leave that place as quickly as possible.

POV: Zane

I stopped reading for a moment and rubbed my tired eyes. After stretching and yawning, I began to hear fast footsteps coming toward me. "Hm?" It was the same woman from before.

Now that I look at her, she's very beautiful.

Our eyes met, and I raised my hand to greet her, but…

She completely ignored me.

Frightened, she rushed past me without looking back, as if she were running away.

That was when I remembered—

"Shit! She definitely saw him!"

I ran to where my clone was, and he was sitting on the floor, reading books. His eyes skimmed over the pages, analyzing everything at an incredible speed. That's why I'm receiving information so quickly.

He's exactly like a robot or something like that. It's creepy.

It would be interesting if he had a body as durable as a robot's—made of metal.

"Hey, I'm tired. After you finish reading all the books here, read the ones on the table downstairs. Once you're done, go to the dungeon and take this with you." I tossed him the knife I had stolen from the goblin, which was stored in my inventory.

He nodded, and I turned to leave.

"Oh, and if anyone says they saw someone who looks like you, tell them it's your twin brother. We'll go with that for now."

"All right. I won't cause any trouble."

"Good."

After that, I left the library to look for a place to stay. Today I'll stay at an inn; later, I'll buy a house. Fortunately, I received all the money I had saved in my previous life.

It's not much, but it should definitely be enough to buy a small house.

I greeted the receptionist and left the library.

After that, I went looking for an inn.

I quickly found one and paid for a week of lodging and meals. I went to my room and threw myself onto the bed.

"I wonder how he's doing. I'm still receiving information… It's even faster now. He's reading even faster."

I wish I could see through his eyes to know where he is.

Let's hope this system gives me new abilities in the future.

I closed my eyes and eventually fell asleep.
