Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - I know you're looking for me

Jayden went to the hospital his subordinate had told him about to visit Rossi.

He walked in directly and asked the receptionist for Rossi's room number.

He climbed the stairs to the second floor and entered Room 7. There, he found Rossi lying in bed, covered in many wounds.

He sat on the chair beside him, his heart heavy with sadness.

Even though Jayden was the leader, he truly cared for his followers. He loved them, and Rossi had always been that loyal one—eager to please his leader no matter how strange or ridiculous the request.

Jyaden lowered his head and looked down at the floor, disappointment on his face.

Suddenly, he heard Rossi's weak voice speak to him.

"Master Jayden, you came for me? I'm so happy."

"Don't talk too much, Rossi. You're in a critical state, and you need to rest. Yes, I came for you."

"As you say, Master. I'll stop talking."

"Good. Be obedient and sleep a little. I'll bring some water and come back."

As Jayden walked down to the first floor, he suddenly felt a strange energy when passing Room 4.

He stopped and turned toward the window, peeking inside at the people in the room.

He thought to himself,

"I felt the energy of a Stone Heir… I'm sure of it. Their power is strong. I can't memorize everyone's faces, so I'll have to take pictures without them noticing. The Stone Heir will likely sense me too."

He activated his electric powers to disable the security cameras on the first floor. Then, pretending to be on a call, he opened his phone camera and took photos of the people inside the room for future investigation.

When he returned to Rossi's room, he found him sleeping soundly. He didn't want to disturb him, so he sat silently for a while.

A nurse entered to administer Rossi's medication through the IV in his hand.

After she finished, Jayden asked her

"Nurse, how long will it take for his wounds to heal?"

"The doctor said it will take about a month for the wounds to recover, followed by two weeks of physical therapy—light exercises and massages."

"That's a long time."

"Yes, but honestly, sir, his survival is a miracle. Time doesn't matter—what matters is that he will recover."

"You're right. Thank you for the information."

"You're welcome."

The nurse left. Seeing that Rossi was still sleeping deeply, Jayden decided to come back later.

As he reached the first floor again, he felt that wonder Stone energy for the second time. This only strengthened his resolve to find out who the Heir was.

The White Dove Hospital where Rossi was staying was the same one where Luna and Yuna were.

Just as Jayden sensed the presence of a Stone Heir, the two girls felt it too. After their visitors left, Luna quickly called Yuna

" Yuna, did—"

" Yes, I felt the presence of a Stone Heir."

" Ugh! You didn't even let me finish the question!"

" Stop whining. I already knew what you were going to ask."

" Fine. What should we do? Should we tell Merrick?"

" No. This time, we handle it ourselves. Listen, there aren't many visitors at night. We'll gather info about those who visited, with Liam's help."

" Yeah… and let's give them some gifts."

" What do you mean?"

" You'll see tomorrow."

The next day, Jayden left home early and went to his photo editor. He developed the pictures of the people he had taken at the hospital.

Then, he went to one of his gang's hideouts and entered the Researchers' Room directly without talking to anyone, even though they greeted him.

He found them all sitting at their desks, focused on their computers and files.

When they noticed him, they all stood up to salute.

"Welcome, Master Jayden."

Jayden : "Which one of you is best at gathering info and identifying people?"

"That would be me, sir," one of them replied.

"Come with me."

The man quickly stepped forward. Jayden handed him the photos saying

"Find out everything about these people—their names, where they live, what they do. Everything."

"Understood, sir."

Jayden left the room and walked out to the balcony of the hideout. He lit a cigarette and exhaled the smoke, smiling to himself.

"Once I find you, my target… I'll finally feel alive again. I'll finally have a real rival."

Suddenly, his phone rang—an alarm reminding him to visit Rossi.

He jumped off the fourth-floor balcony and landed safely on the ground, unharmed.

Jayden didn't want to kill the Stone Heir. He simply wanted to fight someone strong enough to challenge him. He was tired of easy victories. He craved a real battle.

He got into his black car and drove back to the hospital.

Walking past Room 4 on the first floor, he didn't sense the power anymore.

He wanted to think more about it, but he had to go see Rossi.

He went up and entered Rossi's room. This time, Rossi was awake and reading a book with his uninjured hand.

He looked up and smiled.

Rossi : "Master Jayden, welcome back!"

Jayden : "How are you today, bookworm?"

Rossi smiled at the nickname.

"I'm feeling better. Slowly recovering."

"Good. What are you reading?"

"It's just a silly story about magical stones and ancient myths."

"What did you say?" Jayden scream, eyes wide, surprised and intense.

Rossi hesitated. "I… I'm sorry, sir. I didn't realize reading fantasy stories bothered you."

Jayden quickly caught himself—his reaction was too much. He apologized.

"No, I'm the one who's sorry. I don't like these stories, but I can't force others to feel the same. I'm just… curious. Why are you reading that book?"

"Actually, the nurse gave it to me. She got it from a girl she knows."

"Can you tell me more about that girl?"

"I don't know much… but I can describe her."

"Please do."

"She had short red hair—beautiful hair. She was medium to short in height, pale-skinned, and very feminine and kind."

"Got it."

Jayden stood up.

"Now that I know you're okay, I'll leave "

"Thank you, sir. Your visit made me really happy."

"Don't explode from happiness. I'll be back tomorrow."

They both laughed. Jayden left the room and walked down the stairs, thinking to himself:

"That book wasn't random. The Stone Heir must know I'm searching for him . he probably told that red-haired girl to give the story to Rossi as a message: 'I know you're looking for me.' That's brilliant. I'm really looking forward to finally meeting a real rival."

He went back to the hideout and entered the Researchers' Room again.

Everyone stood to greet him.

"Welcome, sir."

Jayden : " Have you found any info on the people in the photos?"

"Yes, sir. They're all university students who came to visit their classmate—she and her twin were kidnapped by Seto's gang."

"Do you know of a red-haired girl, short and pale?"

"Yes, sir. The twins who were kidnapped both fit that description."

Jayden stood silently, connecting the dots. Now he was sure—one of the twins was the Stone Heir.

She must be hiding her identity by appearing weak—just like he used to fake making metal armor.

He rushed out and walked toward his car.

But just as he got close… he suddenly stopped.

Luna and Yuna were standing in front of him.

He was shocked.
