The door opened, and Karlye's mother walked in and frowned at the sight of the man on the floor. Andriana was standing back next to her sister's bed holding a stun gun in her hand .
"Oh sweetie that's a nice weapon you have ?" She scoffed, gesturing for the two guards to enter.
"I was only defending myself " she breathed.
"I know, you don't seem the type to just hurt someone without reason " She took the stun gun from her trembling hands.
The two guards picked up her father taking him away.
"Deliver him to my son " she said to them.
The door closed behind them, and Andriana dropped into the chair next to the bed.
"You're shaken up, come here " she felt Karlye's mom embrace her. She breathed in and out , slowly calming down, "don't worry mom is here to protect you " she added.
Andriana pulled away wiping her tears.
"Feel better?"
Andriana nodded.
"Did he attack you ?" she asked.
"He was trying to take me away, but I ..." She stopped her hands trembling as she remembered what she had done to her father.
"You don't look okay, let's go out for some air "A warm hand led her out of the room.
Andriana felt a cold breeze embrace her face. She breathed realising they were outside.
"I am sorry , I have never done that before, it looked painful" she breathed.
They sat down.
Karlye's mother chuckled.
"It is painful but you standing up for yourself and using that stun gun to protect yourself is what's more important "
"I need to. I can't let anyone hurt me now since I'm pregnant " she sighed her hand touching her belly.
"That's brave of you .... every mother needs to protect her children. That's her first sole duty as a mother " she said.
Mrs Lockhart realised Andriana's smile was filled with sadness and her eyes held back painful tears.
"Thinking about your mother, I heard she died in an accident. Is that why you look sad when I talked about motherhood?" She asked.
Andriana shook her head.
"I am not sad cause I miss her and I know I should but my mother was never a protector or a warm mother to me. All I can remember is her screaming voice and mean comments towards me as she continually hit me ". She breathed pushing down the painful urge to cry.
Andriana felt her hand still holding onto the quiet woman ,being squeezed lightly.
"Andriana?" She called.
Andriana turned facing her.
"All I knew was about your father I didn't know your mother was the same. My sweet child you have suffered" she let out.
Andriana felt her tears fall as she nodded trying to hold back her sobs.
"Don't hold it in, let it all out. It's the only way for you to feel better" Mrs Lockhart pulled her close.
Andriana fell into her embrace crying her eyes out like a baby. Warm arms held her kept soothing her.

"Thank you Mrs.lockhart for earlier" Andriana let out.
Karlye's mom turned back grabbing her hand, "What did we talk about just a while ago ?" She frowned.
Andriana smiled apologising.
"I am sorry mother" she said.
"Good, from today am your mother. So call me mom, mummy, mum or mother. Whichever you like " she smiled.
Andriana's smile widened as she nodded.
She entered her car after hugging Andriana and left.
Andriana stayed for a while in her sister's room before deciding to leave.
On the way, she decided to turn her phone back on. It kept on vibrating with notifications.
She had more than one hundred missed calls from Karlye, Mira and Samantha, with text messages too.
She called Mira first.
"Where the hell have you been , we have been worried sick " she screamed.
Andriana sighed, "sorry Mira I was at the hospital visiting my sister ".
"Then why was your phone off ?"
"I didn't want Karlye to call me " she stated.
Mira breathed.
"You sound sad, did something happen?" Mira noticed.
Andriana heard her phone vibrate it was an incoming call from Karlye.
"Can I call you back , his calling me " she told Mira.
"Alright, I am glad you're safe " she said hanging up.
She answered Karlye's call.
"I am on my way home " she said then hung up not giving him a chance to answer.
She leaned back, a lot had happened. How was she going to tell them about her father and the incident that happened at the hospital?
When she got home Karlye was waiting at the doorway when she got in. She turned away ignoring him but he grabbed her hand.
"Are you okay, love " he asked.
"I am fine, he didn't do anything to me " she said.
She knew that her father had been sent to Karlye by his mother's men.
His mother had told her about what she had found out recently while investigating Andriana . She told her Karlye had been holding her father hostage and but he had escaped a few days ago.
She had realised why her father had said all that to her and even tried to kidnap her to get back at Karlye.
It had made her angry but she knew why he had done that.
"I am sorry for hiding it, I didn't want him anywhere near you again " he apologised.
She looked back, "I understand but is that the only thing you're hiding from me ?"
Karlye gulped avoiding her questioning gaze. She walked back standing in front of him.
"Look at me " she said and he did, "tell me what else you're hiding from me that I need to know ".
"What if it hurts you instead , I don't want you avoiding me more or even hating me " he said.
She took his huge hands into hers, gazing into his eyes.
"I know I might look fragile to you and do need protecting but I am trying to be better and will keep improving until I can fully do it myself " she said.
"I killed that disgusting being who kidnapped you " he let out.
Andria became pale, she had her suspicions after the loud gunshot that startled her that day. And Mira not say much about it. She had searched about what happened to him after she recovered but it seemed he had left the country. So he wasn't away but really dead.
She breathed gulping.
"Anything else ?"
He could see the fear and sadness in her eyes, but if he told her more would she even look at him?
He shook his head.
"Really, apart from kidnapping my father and killing .....Mr.Worm. Have you done anything else behind my back ?" She asked.
He shook his head .
"Oh ...I..." he stopped.
"You what ?. Come on tell me "
"I bought the company you used to work in " he said.
"YOU WHAT?!".
