"What did you just say?" Ben exclaimed as he tried to recover from choking on his lemonade.
Aria couldn't help but smile as she told him again that she awakened. She explained that while at the park, she all of a sudden awakened. Now she can manipulate the element of light as a result. She proceeded to do what she did back in her room. She summoned a ball of light once again using the system and showed her brother.
Ben was quite surprised at the news he had just received. While people becoming awakened had become fairly normal occurrence, he just didn't expect his little sister to do so. Once he calmed down, he started discussing with her what to do next.
"So what would you like to do Aria? We can try getting you a rank assessment and into training or if you want we can try hiding them. It seems like you can control it well enough."
Aria considered both options, but in the end she knew what she wanted to do. "I would like to get assessed and start training." Aria knew the only way she could get stronger was to go this route.
"Very well then, I will contact a testing agency for an appointment to get you assessed, but are you sure about this? You likely will have to go to a designated school for awakeners in a larger city. You would be leaving your friends at school and I will have to see about work, but I likely won't be able to join you, at least not right away."
"Ben, I really want this. I want to get stronger and protect you in the future." Aria didn't want to lose her last family member to the monsters.
"Okay sounds like a plan, now help me clean up from dinner and maybe we can watch a movie before bed." Ben smiled at the thought of his little sister protecting him.
Aria collected their plates and she started the cleanup process with her brother. Later that night after watching a superhero movie with her brother, Aria watched her brother play one of his RPG games on the gaming console. She tried to see if she could learn anything about the game like system she had just obtained. She could see the similarities between the two and asked her brother some questions about the game.
"So you defeat monsters which then gives you experience? With that experience you are able to level up and get stronger, right?"
"Yeah, in simple terms that's how it works." Ben answered her. "Since when have you had an interest in gaming?" Ben seemed to be curious of Aria's newfound interest in his favorite pass time.
"I thought maybe I will give it a try sometime." Aria grinned at the thought of how she is now living a game with her system. She had to figure out a few things still, but that can wait for another day at least.
After talking a bit more, Aria said goodnight before heading to bed for school the next day. While she was laying in her bed she began to worry about how will the rank assessment turn out.
What if my results are abnormal? I don't think I had a normal awakening, so it could affect my assessment. Aria couldn't fall asleep with these worries going through her mind.
[ *Update* - The Celestial Engine will not show up on any scanner available on Earth. Host will appear as a normal awakener. ]
The system reacted to Aria's concerns and gave new information.
Well that solves that concern, I still can't help but worry though. Aria eventually drifted of to sleep, lost in her thoughts.
