Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Trash with a Combat Strength of Only 5

Dragon Ball World

Universe 7

North Galaxy

Planet Tuffle

An eighteen-year-old youth with wild, spiky hair and a brown monkey tail lay lazily atop a massive rock on a mountaintop, his hands clasped behind his head.

He wore rough animal skins, his posture relaxed, as if the chaos of the world had nothing to do with him.

Staring blankly at the sky, his thoughts drifted.

"It's already been fifteen years since I transmigrated into the Dragon Ball world," he muttered. "At least my starting point wasn't terrible. I'm a Saiyan."

In his previous life, his name had been Chen Hao, an ordinary high school graduate. After finishing his exams, boredom drove him to rewatch Dragon Ball at home.

When he saw Son Goku transform into a Super Saiyan, excitement took over.

He waved his arms wildly, accidentally knocking over a bottle of cola beside his computer. In his panic to wipe the keyboard, electricity surged through his body.

That was how Chen Hao died.

When he opened his eyes again, he was already in the Dragon Ball world.

When he first arrived, he was nothing more than an infant wrapped in animal skin. For a while, he even believed he had been reborn into some primitive tribal era.

That illusion shattered the moment his mother casually grabbed him by the tail like a monkey and tossed him into a small stream to bathe.

From then on, doubts began to form.

Those doubts became certainty on the day a group of heavily armed figures stormed into their settlement. High-tech weapons flashed as indiscriminate slaughter began.

Chen Hao's heart trembled.

Are these the people of Planet Tuffle?

The answer came swiftly.

His mother handed him off to a petite, pregnant woman nearby.

"Emily, help me look after Bardock."

Then she rose into the air, gathering energy between her palms before hurling an energy ball straight at the invaders.

Humanoid bodies. Ape-like tails.

There was no mistaking it.

They were Saiyans.

Now reborn as Bardock, Chen Hao recalled everything he knew about the Saiyan race. Black hair. Violent instincts. Explosive battle power. The ability to create an Artificial Moon and transform into Great Apes.

Their brown tails were the clearest proof of their identity.

And when their combat power reached a certain threshold, they could awaken into the strongest warriors of all—Super Saiyans.

That brutal war brought devastating losses to the Saiyans.

Fortunately, this was before they were enslaved by Frieza. Despite their savage nature, Saiyans were fiercely loyal to their own kind.

Under the command of King Vegeta II, fighters escorted women and children away from the battlefield. Only during full moons, when they transformed into Great Apes, were they able to barely organize counterattacks.

Through relentless battles and unintentional yet constant training, Bardock's combat power continued to rise.

Now, it had reached 8,400.

Among the younger generation of Saiyans, he was already considered a top-tier powerhouse—stronger than most of the older warriors.

This information came from captured enemies during their most recent racial war against the Tuffles.

At this time, Saiyans still wore animal skins. Scouters were unheard of.

More than a hundred years ago, their original home—Planet Plant—had been destroyed due to unknown causes.

Back then, Vegeta I, still only a general, led surviving Saiyans through space aboard stolen ships. When they discovered Planet Tuffle, they believed salvation had arrived.

Instead, the moment they landed, they were ambushed.

Most were captured and forced into slave labor, mining endlessly beneath the planet's surface. Only a handful escaped and survived in hiding.

Thinking back on it all, Bardock let out a long sigh.

"So this is how miserable Goku's father's childhood was."

"But it won't last long," he said softly. "Once Vegeta III ascends the throne, the Tuffles will be completely wiped out."

Suddenly—

Bang!

A gunshot rang through the air.

A bullet grazed past Bardock's temple and struck the ground behind him.

As he straightened, a cold barrel was already pressed against his forehead.

"Give up resisting, Saiyan," a Tuffle snarled. "Or I can't guarantee your clansmen's safety."

Bardock tilted his head, glancing at the dense crowd of Tuffle soldiers below the mountain. Helicopters hovered overhead, propellers roaring.

He sneered.

"Hmph. A bunch of trash with combat power barely five."

An energy ball formed instantly in his palm.

He hurled it skyward.

Boom!

The helicopter exploded midair, bursting into flames.

In the next instant, Bardock grabbed the soldier holding the gun, his eyes icy.

"Where are my people?"

"I—I don't know!" the soldier stammered in terror.

"You don't know?" Bardock roared.

With a sharp twist, the soldier's neck snapped.

After annihilating the remaining Tuffles with a barrage of energy balls, Bardock rushed toward the village at full speed.

I have to find Gine and the others—now.

Gine was not only his wife in the original timeline, but also Emily's daughter. Six years ago, after Emily was killed during an escape, the two had depended on each other to survive.

Calling them childhood sweethearts wasn't an exaggeration.

"Gine… you have to be safe," Bardock prayed as he flew.

The so-called village soon came into view.

In truth, it was nothing more than an open clearing covered with tattered animal skins and a crude wooden hut. Construction was never a Saiyan specialty.

At that moment, Tuffle soldiers were rummaging through the area.

When Bardock descended from the sky, they froze—then burst into laughter.

"Hahaha! Didn't expect one to slip through the net!"

Dozens of laser rifles instantly locked onto him.

One of the leaders sneered. "Hey, Saiyan monkey. Stop resisting and come mine obediently."

Bardock's expression didn't change.

"Weaklings. Where did you take my people?"

"You'll find out when you come with us." The leader pulled out a power limiter and waved it mockingly. "Put this on first."

"You refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit."

Bardock vanished.

"Fire! Open fire!" the leader screamed.

Too late.

In the blink of an eye, every soldier fell.

Bardock grabbed the leader by the neck.

"Now will you talk?"

The man's face turned red, veins bulging. "You'll get nothing from me!"

Bardock smiled.

"I like stubborn ones."

A white beam shot from his finger, piercing the man's thigh.

The scream barely escaped before another beam tore through the other leg.

"Don't make a sound," Bardock said calmly. "The next noise you make should be the answer I want."

Finally, the leader broke.

"Underground prison… XX City! Please—just kill me!"

"Hmph. You should've said that earlier."

Gasping, the man sneered weakly. "Even if you know, what can you do? Saiyan monkeys are destined to be slaves."

Bardock's eyes narrowed.

"We'll see who becomes whose slave."

With a single squeeze, the man's life ended.
