Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: You’re Pretty Good

Because all the Saiyans present were able to maintain their sanity after transforming into Great Apes, they stopped attacking the moment the last Planet Tuffle native was killed.

Thousands of Great Apes looked up in reverence at Bardock, who hovered in the air with his arms crossed.

After nearly a century of hiding under the shadow of the Vegeta family, Bardock had led them to conquer a city on the very day he took power—clearly showing who truly deserved to lead the Saiyans.

"What? Are you all so happy you've turned stupid?" Bardock looked down at them coldly. "Now is the time to enjoy the spoils of victory."

"ROAR!"

The Saiyans howled excitedly, canceling their transformations and rushing toward the residential districts.

"Hahaha! First thing—get rid of these damn animal skins!" one Saiyan shouted.

"I'm starving! I could eat a whole cow right now!" another roared.

Every Planet Tuffle native they encountered was killed on sight. The Saiyans stripped off their tattered hides, replaced them with battle suits, and began to feast.

They hadn't eaten all day, had just fought a massive battle, and a Saiyan's appetite was terrifying under normal circumstances—now it was downright monstrous.

Watching his clansmen pillage like demons descending upon a village, Bardock shook his head with a faint smile.

He landed and walked toward the research institute.

An alloy door was blasted open with a casual energy wave, revealing dozens of trembling researchers in white coats inside.

Bardock glanced around, then precisely fired several finger beams, instantly killing four obvious Planet Tuffle scientists.

Smiling, he said, "From today onward, your masters are the Saiyans. Any objections?"

"N-no, none at all!" an elderly scientist stammered. "We're willing to serve you!"

"Hmph. Smart choice," Bardock said calmly. "Work well for us, and you won't lack benefits."

"Yes, yes! Absolute loyalty!" another scientist hurriedly agreed.

"Sir, we're not actually Planet Tuffle natives—we just work here," a young researcher said nervously.

"I don't care what you were before," Bardock replied coldly. "From now on, you serve the Saiyans. Understand?"

The scientists nodded frantically.

They had seen everything happening outside through the surveillance system. They weren't natives—why die for a few hundred Zeni a month?

"Take the medical pods and go to the prison. Rescue my people."

The researchers hurriedly packed their equipment, struggling to move the heavy medical pods.

Bardock frowned slightly and waved at a few nearby Saiyans.

"You—carry the pods to the prison for them."

"Yes, King!"

Several Saiyans pushed through the crowd, lifted the pods effortlessly with one hand, and rushed off.

Seeing the stunned expressions on the scientists' faces, Bardock laughed.

"Hurry up. Double time."

With that done, Bardock stepped out of the research institute.

It was time to change clothes.

He considered himself a civilized man—continuing to wear animal skins was just embarrassing.

Just as he finished changing into a set of silver battle armor, something felt off.

He glanced behind him.

"…Damn it."

Planet Tuffle battle armor didn't account for tails.

"There's nowhere for my tail to go. How annoying," Bardock muttered.

Paragus immediately bowed. "King Bardock, my oversight. I didn't think of that."

Bardock wrapped his finger in energy and carefully burned a hole at the base of the armor. His tail slipped out smoothly.

He swung it a few times, then wrapped it comfortably around his waist.

"Much better," Bardock said in satisfaction.

He patted Paragus's shoulder twice.

"Good. You're very good."

Paragus bowed deeply. "King Bardock, take care."

Watching Bardock leave, Paragus grinned to himself.

The king's favor… the king's favor. Looks like my future is secure.

A Saiyan beside him whispered enviously, "Paragus, you're going to rise fast now."

Paragus snorted proudly. "As long as I perform well, benefits will come naturally."

When Bardock returned to the prison, the severely injured Saiyans were already able to walk on their own. The lightly injured had completely disappeared.

He didn't know whether to marvel at the advanced technology of the Dragon Ball world or the terrifying recovery ability of Saiyan bodies.

Nearby, several female Saiyans were gathered around Gine, chatting excitedly.

Bardock waved off those about to salute and quietly approached.

"I want to have King Bardock's children," one girl said boldly.

"Get lost. If anyone's having his kids, it should be me," another retorted.

"Hmph. King Bardock wouldn't even look at you," a third scoffed.

"That's not true! King Bardock will definitely like me!"

Bardock's face instantly flushed red.

He cleared his throat twice. "There's… no need to have children."

The girls froze, then screamed "King Bardock!" in unison before running away, faces burning.

Gine laughed softly. "Look at you. You scared them all off."

"I really didn't expect to hear that," Bardock said helplessly.

Gine walked up and lightly punched his chest. "You're the Saiyan King now. Being charming is normal."

Bardock put an arm around her shoulders. "Enough teasing. Let's check on everyone first."

After the celebration, all the Saiyans gathered outside the prison.

Bardock stood atop the ruins, gazing at the revitalized Saiyans—now clad in battle armor instead of primitive hides—and laughed loudly.

"Look at you all! So energetic, so sharp-looking! I'm happy for you—but now is not the time to relax!"

His voice rang out powerfully.

"We still have hundreds of thousands of our people suffering under the brutal enslavement of Planet Tuffle!"

"We must completely wipe out these parasites, liberate every Saiyan, and take full control of this planet!"

The crowd erupted.

"Occupy this planet!"

"Occupy this planet!"

After a few seconds, Bardock raised his hand. Silence fell instantly.

"For the next three days," he declared, "I will teach you all the Artificial Moon technique."

"After that, you will form squads of one hundred and attack from every direction—rescuing our people as you advance!"

"Finally, we will gather in victory at the Planet Tuffle capital!"

"King Bardock, we will not fail!" a Saiyan shouted.

"Yes! Let them feel the might of the Saiyans!"

Bardock raised his fist.

"This century of humiliation ends with us!"

"We will usher in a new era of Saiyan glory!"

The Saiyans roared as one, eyes blazing with revenge and hope.

They all believed it—

The hundred-year humiliation of the Saiyans was finally coming to an end.
