Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Weakness

Molten Rock Empire, Emperor Molten Rock Planet.

In a spacious and luxurious conference room, over a dozen figures sat on either side of the conference table, all of them Universe Level Eight or Nine powerhouses!

The conference room lights were bright, yet the atmosphere was oppressive. These Universe Level Eight or Nine powerhouses seemed affected, all remaining silent.

At the head of the conference table, a tall figure was shrouded in darkness, his face unclear.

Even the light near him was absorbed and assimilated, as if boundless darkness constantly enveloped him. Only his hands, with fingers interlocked and elbows resting on the table, appeared in the light.

The person seated at the head was Frank, the head of the Molten Rock Empire's Cultivation Planet Management Department and a Domain Master Eight powerhouse.

"Heh heh! The core of a planet was actually breached by a group of Demon Beasts. This truly opens my eyes!"

Frank, from within the darkness, let out a cold laugh, his deep voice filled with rage, "Kuka Planet! Which Universe Level was responsible for guarding it?

"A Universe Level couldn't even stop a few Stellar Rank Demon Beasts! Get him..."

A Universe Level quickly transmitted a message, "Teacher, the Universe Level responsible for guarding Kuka Planet hasn't taken office yet. He applied for a ten-year vacation, which you personally approved."

Upon hearing the reminder, Frank instantly remembered. The person in charge of Kuka Planet had indeed not yet taken office, and his vacation still had two years left.

After a moment of silence, he spoke, "I just remembered, the person in charge of guarding Kuka Planet hasn't taken office yet. Have him immediately end his vacation and report to Kuka Planet."

After speaking, he added fiercely, "All the mentors who survived this incident will be sent to mine! They can return home only after they've contributed enough!"

"More than half of the students at the Cultivation Base died, and all the outstanding students are gone!

"Yet, only four Stellar Rank mentors chose to fight to the death. If it weren't for a Stellar Rank student who comprehended a Domain cleaning up the mess, the entire Kuka Planet would have suffered heavy losses!"

Frank paused, his words filled with fury, "Just now! World Master Rica was still asking me.

"He said that all the students reserved for the Cultivation Camp died, but only four of the Stellar Rank mentors died.

"What is this? This is a slap in the face for our department! A slap in the face for me, the person in charge!"

At this point, Frank's Aura surged, pressing down on the Universe Levels below him, making them gasp for breath.

"Starting today, all mentors on all Cultivation Planets will be assessed. Carefully screen each planet one by one!

"Anyone who fails the assessment will have their mentor status and benefits revoked. If any violations or corruption are found, they will be directly sent to mine! The Resource Department is complaining about a lack of miners.

"If such an incident happens again, not only the Universe Level governors guarding the planets, but all of you regional managers will also go to mine!"

Finally, Frank roared, "Did you hear me clearly?"

"Yes, we heard you clearly!"

The Universe Levels below all nodded.

Seeing his subordinates nod, Frank didn't want to say more and issued the order.

"Meeting adjourned!"

With that, Frank was the first to leave the conference room; he still had to apologize to an old friend.

After their department head left, the Universe Levels finally breathed a sigh of relief and began discussing in the conference room.

In the eyes of these Universe Level powerhouses, the Kuka Planet incident wasn't a particularly big deal.

It was just that some Planetary Levels had died, and the Molten Rock Empire truly didn't lack such Planetary Levels.

It was only regrettable that the young man who had comprehended a Domain, who could have entered the Stellar Training Camp, died on Kuka Planet because of the cowardice of the Cultivation Base mentors.

Also, the real trouble was that among the deceased young people, there was a scion of a prominent Family with a significant background, said to be the descendant of a good friend of their minister.

This Family scion went to Kuka Planet merely as a formality, to gain some experience before entering a higher-level Stellar Training Camp, and never expected to die there.

In their view, the death of their friend's descendant on Kuka Planet, coupled with the taunts from World Master Rica, who they had always been at odds with, caused the minister's fury.

However, this was also good; they could use this opportunity to rectify the Cultivation Planets and also give those Cultivation Planet governors something to do!

After the discussion, the Universe Levels began to leave the conference room one after another, and soon the conference room doors closed... Time passed, and Ender had been in Morning Light City for three days.

The Morning Light Academy entrance examination is held once every three months, and there are only ten days until the next examination.

Due to his past life experiences, he quickly adapted to life in Morning Light City and could already skillfully use various equipment.

At this moment, Ender was lying on his bed, wearing a consciousness sensor on his head, his consciousness having entered the Virtual Universe Morning Light Academy Trial Tower.

Boundless grassland, a verdant sea of grass. A gentle breeze swept through, creating waves of emerald green.

Ender flew through the air on a shield, sixteen bone spikes circling around him, while in the distant sky, nine Corpse Eating Birds circled.

Before him was a light screen, on which was written in the universal language of the Universe, "The assessment will begin in ten seconds. Please kill nine Apprentice Level Nine Corpse Eating Birds within ten minutes."

The light screen disappeared.

Chirp—!

The Corpse Eating Birds circling in the sky seemed to have spotted prey and flew towards Ender.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh... Sixteen bone spikes cut through the air, shooting towards the approaching Corpse Eating Birds.

The bone spikes struck the Corpse Eating Birds. As long as they didn't hit vital points, they only managed to knock them off balance.

Soon, Ender was surrounded by these nine Corpse Eating Birds and was killed in just over twenty seconds.

Swish!

In a single room with only a sofa, Ender sat on the sofa, recalling the previous battle.

"On the second day of learning 'Basic Movement Technique,' I cleared five Corpse Eating Birds on the third floor of the Trial Tower, four more than when I hadn't learned 'Basic Movement Technique.' Significant progress."

He frowned slightly, "Without powerful Spiritual Force and Planetary Level bone spikes, I still haven't adapted. These two have influenced me too deeply, and it's hard to eliminate in a short time.

"Sometimes I instinctively believe that I can kill Corpse Eating Birds with a single bone spike, but in reality, normal Apprentice Level Nine Spiritual Force intensity and bone spikes can hardly inflict fatal injuries on Demon Beasts of the same Rank. Sometimes it takes ten to twenty attacks to kill one Corpse Eating Bird."

"If I choose to use guerrilla tactics, I can kill nine Corpse Eating Birds in ten minutes, but that's meaningless!"

Ender was well aware of his weaknesses: he couldn't adapt to combat in the Virtual Universe, and his movement technique was too weak due to his habit of overwhelming combat.

Therefore, in the Trial Tower, he always engaged in direct combat with Demon Beasts to train his movement technique and adapt himself to combat in the Virtual Universe.

"With the same Rank of body and weapons, fighting purely with skill, experience, consciousness, and comprehension of Law—this is the special aspect of combat in the Virtual Universe.

"I must adapt, or I probably won't even get into Morning Light Academy!"

"I'll try the Martial Artist Trial Tower and see how many floors I can clear this time."

Ender slapped the sofa, disappeared from the room, and re-entered the Trial Tower.

A few minutes later, with a "swish," he returned to the room, shaking his head helplessly.
